With Easter fast approaching, Cadbury would like to hear about your family’s Easter traditions. Is there a tradition from your childhood that you’re passing on to the next generation? Or have you used your imagination to think up something that’s completely your own? Do you have a traditional family Easter lunch planned, or will you be spending the day working your way through your new chocolate egg stash? Is there a location you always like to visit over the long weekend? Perhaps your Easter Bunny devises egg hunts that could outfox even the wiliest of hunters?

Here’s what Cadbury has to say: “Easter is a really special time of the year where families come together and we believe Egg Hunts are the perfect ritual for the whole family to enjoy! We are really excited to hear about people’s Easter traditions and how they bring their families together during the Easter period”

Whatever your favourite family Easter traditions, share with Cadbury by the 12th April for a chance to win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

I do a egg hunt with my 8yr old in our back garden as soon as she gets up and then it's a family film together whilst I cook a lamb roast dinner for us all. We always have lamb Easter Sunday .

Cookies77 · 05/04/2017 20:33

Morning Easter egg hunt followed by roast dinner in the afternoon!

dontpullyourbrotherswilly · 05/04/2017 20:43

When i was a kid we put little baskets on the window the night before Easter Sunday and the Easter Bunny (aka my mum) would fill it at night with a small toy and chocolate.
So now doing similar for my sons but I found these large mache eggs in hobbycraft and I'm covering them with decoupage and filling them with couple of small toys and a bit of chocolate and the Easter Bunny will put them on the window sill at night Smile

Easter tradition for me is to kiss a rabbi , pick spring flowers and eat a bodied egg with corn bread ....

Peggy13 · 05/04/2017 20:46

Oh no kiss a rabbit sorry

CMOTDibbler · 05/04/2017 20:50

Kiss a rabbi sounds much more interesting!

ashleywhit · 05/04/2017 20:56

We have a big family roast like at christmas time but with beef or lamb! 😁 It's just lovely ❤️

Peggy13 · 05/04/2017 21:21

I might give it a go at passover .

My dads side always used to have a family gathering at easter as we were so spread out round the country and with the long easter weekend with Friday and Monday off it allowed us all to travel to each other and enjoy a couple of days all together. The younger generation of my dads side are now trying to start it up again :-) My easter traditions with my children are to try and have a day out over the easter weekend, do an easter egg hunt and lots of craft activities if the weather isn't great

Getting all the kids and family around each other's gardens for egg hunts and games so much fun the kids love it and the adult as well

Good Friday for us starts with a huge family get together and a fish pie buffet. There are about 20 of us all together including all the nieces and nephews.

Saturday is quite chilled, but always special because of the presence of my parents who travel over 100 miles to spend the weekend with us. They live to spend the day with their 3 grandchildren.
Sunday is the children's favourite day as the Easter eggs are given out! Given that the children in our extended family have plenty of aunties and uncles, not to mention devoted grandparents, they do pretty well! We generally have lamb, though I have to hang my head in shame as a mother, as I admit that the children eat very little good food that day - they are too full from tucking into their Easter eggs!
Monday - definitely a chill day - and an 'eat up the leftovers day'
I love Easter. It is the only time of the year when my own and my husband's family come together, and the cousins have a fabulous time together. The weather is getting warmer, and everybody is feeling happy.

our biggest tradition is decorating hard boiled eggs and rolling them down the hill, also making some easter bonnets and eating loads of chocolates

malisa · 05/04/2017 23:32

My children like Easter egg hunt. If weather permits - in the garden and if not - at home. We usually making sure each child goes separately to hunt for his egg, that way every child has a chance of finding egg and no excuses that one of them gets more.

magentastardust · 05/04/2017 23:41

We have an Easter egg hunt in the garden, sometimes meet up with friends and do a national trust castle/Cadbury chocolate egg hunt ,then a big family lunch -normally a roast and then we have a chilled family evening. Lots of family time and lots of chocolate! Good fun.

tracezeus1968 · 06/04/2017 00:47

I made my 1st ever Easter Simnel Cake in secondary school and have made one every year since and now my 13 year old stepson loves to help me and also make chocolate crispie cake birds nests filled with Cadbury's mini eggs so we spend an afternoon together in the kitchen and then present our goodies to the rest of the family over the Easter weekend and they always go down a treat and my stepson beams with pride x

sylviagill · 06/04/2017 06:56

Easter means lots of Chocolate and an Egg Hunt in the Garden - then a walk in the country to see all the beautiful spring flowers and watch the new born lambs frolicking in the fields.

Edithannsmum · 06/04/2017 07:14

My son was born on Easter Sunday four years ago. We make it like a little birthday celebration for him. He has two birthdays like he queen. Plus, I always make sure I have lots of chocolate to make up for that day when I had none 😂

barbsbarbs · 06/04/2017 07:48

We paint hard boiled eggs in the morning, then we go to nan and grandad for sunday dinner, then an easter egg hunt in the afternoon. Then its all back to ours for a movie and eating chocolate eggs.

carz1985 · 06/04/2017 07:57

We normally go and see family and friends and kids get loads of eggs or gifts and we do some crafts. Them we normal have dinner with mother in law then kids eat chocolate and either watch a film or we got for a walk

Laradavis66 · 06/04/2017 08:17

We always go on an easter egg hunt at our local stream railway as we love being able to support a local attraction and my eldest is train mad

padleys · 06/04/2017 08:45

Our Easter traditions are all about family fun, we all paint eggs and then have an Easter egg hunt for the children, followed by a roast dinner, then in the afternoon and evenings we play family games, normally start with twister as that is always a game to make us laugh. The following day w normally hit the Seafront, for a run along the beach and along the amusement arcades and generally having a family day there

fionatinkerbelljames · 06/04/2017 09:31

We always go to Devon for the weekend.

gemmstone27 · 06/04/2017 09:43
