With Easter fast approaching, Cadbury would like to hear about your family’s Easter traditions. Is there a tradition from your childhood that you’re passing on to the next generation? Or have you used your imagination to think up something that’s completely your own? Do you have a traditional family Easter lunch planned, or will you be spending the day working your way through your new chocolate egg stash? Is there a location you always like to visit over the long weekend? Perhaps your Easter Bunny devises egg hunts that could outfox even the wiliest of hunters?

Here’s what Cadbury has to say: “Easter is a really special time of the year where families come together and we believe Egg Hunts are the perfect ritual for the whole family to enjoy! We are really excited to hear about people’s Easter traditions and how they bring their families together during the Easter period”

Whatever your favourite family Easter traditions, share with Cadbury by the 12th April for a chance to win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

We do an Easter egg hunt in the garden and always visit a farm over the holidays to feed the newborn lambs. We try to avoid busy places over the Easter weekend as the traffic is usually heavy so we stay local - there are usually small scale events on in the village.

An egg hunt, sometimes with clues. A family lunch. And the Easter bunny leaves a topical book for the kids too.

Abis04 · 04/04/2017 19:50

We always have fish pie on good Friday, decorate the easter tree with eggs we've made, have faces on boiled eggs on easter sunday and then off for a massive eggs hunt with all the family.

sabretiggr · 04/04/2017 20:33

Lunch at my parents, followed by an easter egg hunt round their garden. It's grown from an event for our eldest, to one Grandad now runs for all three kids with ever-growing numbers of eggs and more difficult hiding places!

gheaney · 04/04/2017 20:42

The easter bunny always leaves a trail to an egg hunt. Later we always colour hard boiled eggs and take them to a hill to roll.

lisapop · 04/04/2017 21:12

We used to do an egg hunt when the girls were younger, now we do baking & crafting

cake17uk · 04/04/2017 21:48

No huge traditions here, always have hot cross buns on Good Friday and give out Easter eggs on Easter Sunday

mishknight · 04/04/2017 22:10

we always make Easter nests

sbruin1122 · 04/04/2017 23:01

Easter egg hunt and family lunch :)

thesockgap · 05/04/2017 06:39

We don't make a huge fuss of Easter to be honest, have never "done" the Easter bunny or anything like that although we do get the kids a big egg each and usually do a little egg hunt with small eggs.
We go to Mass in the morning, egg hunt afterwards, then I do a roast - usually the only time I can persuade hubby to eat lamb so I revel in it - but that's about it, it's pretty much a normal Sunday!

topsmrp · 05/04/2017 07:35

A big family get together with an Easter egg hunt
Then a nice big family roast

Carrie133 · 05/04/2017 07:54

As a family, we have always got together with family
Friends and done a Good Friday walk at a local beauty spot followed by dinner together. It's been a lovely opportunity for all the generations to get together and spend time together. A bit like
Christmas but with less pressure Smile

FlukeSkyeRunner · 05/04/2017 07:57

We don't really do Easter, but our kids get given so much chocolate that our tradition s to stockpile it and they've normally eaten it all by the time its Christmas! 🙂

Bechoole · 05/04/2017 09:49

We always spend the second week of easter hols as a family and ensure we always have a day out together, this year will be Diggerland...not sure who is looking forward to it most

Flapdoodles · 05/04/2017 09:58

We have an Easter egg hunt at home, I don't usually do clues, I just leave them to search (it takes them longer Grin ) and for the last few years we have done the Easter Egg Hunt at our local National Trust property. We also have a family get together with grandparents on at least one of the days over Easter.

usernamewastooobv · 05/04/2017 11:22

Our tradition, which was passed down from my parents, is to save our egg box cartons and then fill them with cadburys creme eggs mini eggs and a small toy. It's daft but when I was a child I always used to look forward to seeing what was in the carton each year more than getting the bigger eggs and our children love them too.

AngelwingsPetlamb · 05/04/2017 13:09

My dc has been brought up to believe in the Easter Bunny, and over the Easter period the bunny visits our back garden and hides eggs for my dc to find.
DC absolutely loves hunting for the chocolatey treats. We also visit a National Trust property and although we love family outings to the NT it is always extra special when we join in one of the Cadbury sponsored Easter egg hunts that happen every year. It's a great way to get children out and about and they meet other children hunting for clues which makes it fun too.

lolly2010 · 05/04/2017 14:29

We make easter bonnets, we have an easter egg hunt where you have to run around following clues and we always have a roast dinner.

Mummyjellyfish1 · 05/04/2017 14:44

An Easter egg hunt usually in the garden depending on weather. Just using lots of cheap little eggs. A tradition that I started with my niece and nephew now my own kids. Last year our egg hunt was indoors as it was raining my little boy loved find the eggs in his play kitchen and inside his big toy cars and truck

SpandexPandas · 05/04/2017 14:54

We are usually travelling to see family at Easter! The Easter bunny doesn't mind though! He always remembers to drop off a couple of eggs in the car so we have them for the road! How nice is that?? Thoughtful little bunny!!!

Until a couple of years ago I was usually at work at Easter. Now I'm not, we try to have a big family lunch with my parents and also get a day out, maybe a picnic and walk or a National Trust property with their Easter events. Obviously chocolate plays a part too - my eldest likes milk chocolate the best and twin toddlers like white chocolate. I'll be hoping for some dark chocolatey goodness!
Gone are the days of a James Bond film and Easter egg for me, too many children to entertain!! Hopefully a glass of wine when they're in bed will help :-)

MaverickSnoopy · 05/04/2017 17:53

I feel like we fail miserably at Easter and every Tera I vow to try harder. Everyone else seems ok be crafting and melting chocolate and I'm lucky if I remember to get to the shops before the eggs run out. I used to go the day before good Friday and there be ample supply but in the last few years all the shops are sold out which is such a shame as it's when I'm getting in the mood and ready to start thinking about Easter.

Growing up we always had hot cross buns at 11am on Good Friday and it's a tradition I've tried to carry on despite being the only one who likes them, but I usually find a chocolate cake alternative for everyone else. Dinner in my childhood used to be fish and chips and it's something I want to start doing again with my family.

Easter Sunday was always roast lamb and we still go to my parents now as they do Easter best. Easter Monday is our chill out and eat chocolate day.

This year over the Easter weekend I want to do an Easter themed day trip and a trip to the yummy ice cream parlour. We do a lot of eating over Easter but it's one of the only down times that we get all year. This year I hope to do more crafting with my eldest, we've already done an Easter bonnet.

emmamcmahon · 05/04/2017 19:15

We have an egg hunt left by the Easter Bunny, ready for when the boys wakeup. They have to solve the clues and it usually involves going up and down the stairs several times (tires them out!). Chocolate egg for breakfast is a must too!

Concerned321 · 05/04/2017 19:45

I have a kid free day on the Sunday (yay!) however we will be going for our traditional Easter Egg hunt on Monday at the local museum
