Fairy Non Bio is sponsoring the Mumsnet Talk App and in light of this they’d like to see what you have to talk about when it comes to your household washing schedule. Do you manage to get by on just a couple of loads a week or do four a day just to keep up with your kids? Perhaps you’re lucky enough to be able to send it all away to be done for you? Do you have a set day for each kind of washing load or just shove things in as they look like they might need doing? Whatever your washing schedule, let Fairy Non Bio know by sharing in a post below.

Here’s what Fairy Non Bio has to say: “Fairy Non Bio is good for anyone who wants a softer, more sensitive wash (that still leaves clothes clean!). Its gentle formula promises to be kind to both your clothes and your skin, and so it’s suitable for the whole family, no matter how many washes you’re doing each week.”

So, alongside the Fairy Non Bio sponsorship of the Mumsnet Talk App, they’d like you to talk about the washing schedule your household has. If you avidly check out Mumsnet's talk boards, you should download the app for yourself. It's free, and allows you to be part of the conversation wherever you are!

All those who post below will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks, and good luck with the prize draw!

2 loads for DS4
1 load for the boys (2 teen boys and hubby)
1 load for the girls (me and daughter)
1 for towels
1 for bedding

MunchyMunchkin · 12/12/2016 21:43

3-4 a week. 2 adults and 1 toddler.
2 mixed loads.
1 whites every 10 days or so
1 of either towels or bedding.

Stillnoidea · 12/12/2016 21:48

Around 10 probably for 5 of us. 6 regular washes, another 2-3 quick washes that DD does to wash uniform or something she's forgotten to put in the wash, and 2ish of other stuff - bedding etc.

lottietiger · 12/12/2016 22:13

err lots.. minimum 1 per day sometimes 3 or 4. There are only 3 or us but DS is an extremely mud loving child so uniforms, coats and waterproofs always need washing. We have horses so we always have muddy clothes. I also wash the bedding once per week. I use the 15 minute wash quite often too to refresh my work trousers, or get rid of knees in skinny's.

Blizy · 12/12/2016 22:23

Usually 5/6 washes a week. Me, dh and (very messy) toddler ds.

IJustWantABrew · 12/12/2016 22:24

There me, dp and ds and I must do about 6/7 loads Confused. My ds is only a baby and enjoys vomiting on most things especially me, so I'll end up going through a couple of changes of clothes a day as well as my son.
Dp just dumps stuff on the floor and I just bung it in the wash, sometimes I'm not even sure he's worn it Confused
Change the beds every week and use clean towels every day so it all adds up. Can't stand the thought of dirty towels and sheets.

inlectorecumbit · 12/12/2016 22:37

2 adults and 2 DCs including DS who plays football 2-3 x weekly.
Washing machine seems to be on constantly
All beds changed Mondays - 3 loads
Towels 3-4 x weekly (think dirty footballer)
Uniforms x 2 weekly
General clothes 4-5 x weekly
I love a day when l can get it out on the washing line to dry.

thisgirlrides · 12/12/2016 23:04

I usually do 2 white washes (school shirts plus all our towels & most of our bedding is white), 2 dark washes and a coloured wash. There's definitely more in the summer with beach/swimming towels & costumes plus generally more outdoor play not to mention the dreaded cricket whites.

LadyMumble · 12/12/2016 23:13

Minimum of 7 loads each week, at least 1 wash each day.

Eva50 · 12/12/2016 23:18

I do at least 2 loads most days so upwards of 14 a week. There are 2 adults, 3 boys and a dog here.

pumpkinsweetie · 13/12/2016 03:07

I do from 3-4 loads a day just to keep up with my large family, the basket is never empty and my washing machine is almost always on to provide my home of 7 people with a constant supply of clean clothes.

Then it's all tumbled and thrown in a heap until it makes it to their cupboards Grin
We don't iron in this house, the tumbler takes away all that needless hard work!

Sleepysausage · 13/12/2016 06:05

There's 3 in our family. Dh, me and our 14 month old. We use the washing machine every other day.

WholeL0ttaRosie · 13/12/2016 07:38

2 adults plus dog - I wash every other day. So clothes, then towels, bed linen, back to clothes again, then dog bedding and his towels.
I only use powder, never liquid or fabric softener, but I do like a capful of Zoflora added.

KatherinaMinola · 13/12/2016 09:59

I'm trying to reconcile this this thread with the 30 pairs of pyjamas thread - presumably not the same people posting Wink

I do on average a wash a day, so 7 per week (a bit more in summer), and it's not quite enough (and that's with wearing clothes more than once where possible). I line dry where possible (it is possible ten months of the year down south).

EastCoastDamsel · 13/12/2016 11:30

Family of 4 - feels like I never stop washing and the piles don't get any smaller either!

We only have a small machine 6kg - in our rented house at the moments so at least 2 washes a day with maybe 3 on a Saturday. I would say easily 15 a week and seldom get round to doing as the bedding as much as I'd like to.

BLISS2004 · 13/12/2016 11:52

The washing machine is used more now than when my son was a baby!
1 load towels
1 load bedding
1 load whites
1 load dark
2 loads mixed coloured- mostly grey
1 load dirty sport wear

Plus each load gets extra rinse at least twice

MrWriter · 13/12/2016 12:32

Too many! There are 2 adults and 2 kids (the oldest is 3) in our household and I still do around 6 washes a week!

My husband works outside so he wears eleventy million t-shirts a day this time of year , that combined with a crazy 3 year old and a weaning baby means I only see the bottom of our wash basket for minutes before its loaded up again!

mrsm43s · 13/12/2016 14:23

2 adults, 2 pre-teens.

I tend to wash 2 days a week doing
1 dark
1 whites
1 jumpers
1 sheets/towels
each time.

So altogether about 8 washes a week.

IonaAilidh11 · 13/12/2016 15:14

two loads a day plus extra at weekends

DillieDoily · 13/12/2016 16:36

Myself, DH, DS (5) and DS (2) at home and do about 5 loads of washing a week- usually one light load and 4 mixed/darks

vincenta · 13/12/2016 17:00

around 4

slalomsuki · 13/12/2016 17:20

2 loads per day either 1 white or 1 dark plus a sports kit load. Weekend is approximately 3 per day, towels, bedding, more sports kit and general clothes. There may also be a wool wash once per week. Sounds a lot but there is 5 of us and kids do some sort of sports everyday.

littledinaco · 13/12/2016 19:33

5 of us, a wash most days!

Summerdays2014 · 13/12/2016 19:37

4 a week for me, husband and 11 month old son.

ieatyellowsnow · 13/12/2016 19:56

10kg washing machine and I do 3 washes a week -- could definitely do more. So much!!
