Fairy Non Bio is sponsoring the Mumsnet Talk App and in light of this they’d like to see what you have to talk about when it comes to your household washing schedule. Do you manage to get by on just a couple of loads a week or do four a day just to keep up with your kids? Perhaps you’re lucky enough to be able to send it all away to be done for you? Do you have a set day for each kind of washing load or just shove things in as they look like they might need doing? Whatever your washing schedule, let Fairy Non Bio know by sharing in a post below.

Here’s what Fairy Non Bio has to say: “Fairy Non Bio is good for anyone who wants a softer, more sensitive wash (that still leaves clothes clean!). Its gentle formula promises to be kind to both your clothes and your skin, and so it’s suitable for the whole family, no matter how many washes you’re doing each week.”

So, alongside the Fairy Non Bio sponsorship of the Mumsnet Talk App, they’d like you to talk about the washing schedule your household has. If you avidly check out Mumsnet's talk boards, you should download the app for yourself. It's free, and allows you to be part of the conversation wherever you are!

All those who post below will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks, and good luck with the prize draw!

Before our baby came along in April, I did only 2-3 washes a week for my partner and I. Now it's more like one wash a day, sometimes more; and if I am out and about for a few days in a row, the laundry really builds up. Welcome to parenthood (but I wouldn't change it for the world!)

moonoverthewater · 19/12/2016 21:09

About 3 on average, only me and DH

TwinGirlsLifeGoals · 19/12/2016 21:15

I do one load a day normally, unless it's bed change day or we've been on holiday- then it's like climbing Everest with a hefty head wind!!

lovelycats · 19/12/2016 21:27

A load 2-3 times a week for DH and I. Expecting a baby soon so I'm sure that will change! The object for me is to remain constantly on top of it. If there is a load in the basket, it gets put on to wash. No particular days or schedule.

SingingMyOwnSpecialSong · 19/12/2016 21:28

Me, DH, 2-year old DD, dog (lots of muddy walks) and cat (fairly fluffy). I do washing 2 evenings a week so that I don't have washing hanging around our small house for ages, and so I don't feel like I am constantly washing. Usually

1x light
1x dark/colours
1x towels

Sometimes the darks/colours need separating as too many for one load. Have recently stopped using cloth nappies so 2 less loads a week. Wash bedding and pet bedding as needed, about once a month.

Most of the year I hang it out in the dark and it is nearly all dry by lunchtime the next day. In winter it goes on airers beside the kitchen heater with a dehumidifier. I shuffle it around during the following day and can usually have it all dry by the evening.

TheFrenchLieutenantsMonkey · 19/12/2016 21:36

About 2-3 a day, including bedding and towels. And then an extra 4-5 a week where it comes out still a bit grim and realise I've forgotten to put the washing powder/gel into the machine!

mave · 19/12/2016 21:49

I do at least 4 loads a week, more depending on where we've been or gone swimming, etc!

DiggityDam · 19/12/2016 22:20

Too many!!

But on average 1 a day alternating between whites and mixed. That's for two adults and 2 under 5.

molliedollie1 · 19/12/2016 22:27

4 adults 1 child and a toddler

At least 8 or 9 and I hate trying to get it all dry this time of year

cbruin111 · 19/12/2016 22:51

about 2 or 3!

headsy12 · 19/12/2016 23:03

I do about 10 loads of washing a week, because of allergies towels and bedding need to be washed at 50 degrees, it all take time and money.

jtl1131 · 19/12/2016 23:16

having 6 children and 2 adults in the house your looking at 2/3 times a day! thats a 'normal' day, when the beds and sofa cushions get stripped and washed (once a week) thats an extra couple of loads, so 14-18 times a week but we do wash at the lowest we can possibly do, 30 degrees for 30min per wash

buckley1983 · 19/12/2016 23:18

There's three of us in our household - two adults, one child. We do around 4 loads of washing a week - 3 colour, 1 white. This can increase if LO wets the bed - it's not the washing I mind though, it's getting the damn stuff dry in this weather!! :)
I try to get together a full load to save energy & water, but if soiled then will whack it in regardless. No set time for us, I just do it whenever needed.

clareycat · 19/12/2016 23:35

between 10-15 but often the same load goes round 3 times as i invariably forget it's in there & starts to smell so has to go on again!

cwalliss82 · 20/12/2016 05:18

I probably do a load every other day but then at the weekend, I also do the bedding/towels.

FoofFighter · 20/12/2016 07:05

Twice a week as there's just two of us and I don't believe in wearing once then washing unless underwear of course!

vegmum21 · 20/12/2016 11:26

Anywhere from 5-10 a week I think. I do towels once a week, bedding once every1-2 weeks, and other stuff just when there's enough of it Smile

pixelwife · 20/12/2016 11:45

I think I do 7 a week (1 a day). With two young children, I think that's fairly reasonable and luckily I have a 10kg capacity washing machine which helps!

Pmliu · 20/12/2016 12:42

Probably about 4 or 5 loads, I have 3 really messy little girls & hubby, also wash all the towels, blankets & bedding

Starlight85 · 20/12/2016 12:55

At the moment there is just me and DP and we probably do 6/7 loads a week including bedding and towels. Although our first baby is due in a couple of weeks so I am sure this will increase!

liamell · 20/12/2016 14:11

I do at least 6 loads a week....dependant on school terms (whether the children will be wearing two outfits a day or just one)

phillie1 · 20/12/2016 14:12

about 6 or 7

SpiderAndMouse · 20/12/2016 14:55

One non-bio for toddler's clothes. One bio for mine and husband's (what's this colour separation malarky?!). One hot wash for bedding and towels. This wash also gets tumble dried, just to add some excitement to the mix.

21Catherine21 · 20/12/2016 15:00

I do three or four washes a week and separate whites, colours and delicates.
I try to keep laundry to a minimum now the children have flown the nest, but when they were still at home the washer would be on nearly every day for school uniforms, football kits, bedding, playing out clothes and towels etc.
I also think washing at lower temperatures with better quality products is a must :)

RexBurt · 20/12/2016 15:21

3 loads twice a week for family of 5
Thank god for tumble driers!
