With Christmas around the corner, Homebase wants to know all about your festive favourites and the seasonal must-haves you just can’t live without.

Would Christmas without a tree not be Christmas at all? Have your baubles got to be a certain colour to fit in with the rest of the décor? And is there only one style of lighting you could ever have in your home?

Whatever’s essential to you this Christmas, visit homebase.co.uk and post a link below to the products you just can’t live without - and tell us why.

So for a chance to win a £300 Homebase voucher, simply take the survey and add a comment below.

Thanks and good luck,

Loads of white lights - all over the house!! Have just moved house so need to buy even more this year!!

sianihedgehog · 25/11/2016 11:19

I have always had a real tree. Growing up we used to ski out on Christmas eve to cut one! Now, in a much smaller house, with a cat who stubbornly refuses to grow up ad settle down, I can't get through Christmas without a REALLY STURDY stand for my tree! www.homebase.co.uk/en/homebaseuk/krinner-xxl-christmas-tree-stand-249047

Getting out the advent calendar on the 30th November is the real beginning of Christmas, I love searching for little things to put in each door, and the DCs love the days I bought something too big and have to leave a note for a mini treasure hunt instead.

We do a lot of baking at Christmas so we wouldn't be without out aprons. My DS6 loves to help out and gets in a terrible mess but it is all good fun and the baked goods are always a success.

Spirael · 25/11/2016 11:52

Arguably not life essential, but I have a reputation in my family for slowing down present opening via the copious application of ribbon. Therefore... www.homebase.co.uk/en/homebaseuk/silver-gift-wrap-accessory-pack-378194

I couldn't give up the door wreath because I think it looks so welcoming and smells so lovely

I love this because it would fit perfectly in my living room and provide a lovely glow!

A huge, too big for the room Christmas tree.

Curry off these plates - no turkey for us!

Fancy 'pop' in these

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 25/11/2016 14:12

fairy lights - I love fairy lights, but only the warm white ones - no coloured lights or bright white ones for me.

mum2eci · 25/11/2016 14:32

The smell of a real Christmas tree and our advent candle which is becoming harder and harder to find each year! Kids take turns of lighting and blowing it out each night and gets so exciting as the candle nears the bottom!

Saunderskatie · 25/11/2016 14:45

The classic Christmas candle!! They smell divine

MummyBtothree · 25/11/2016 14:58

The Christmas tree and all of the decorations and lights that we have indoors and outdoors.

I saw this in the survey and I LOVE it! I think it's a great tradition that most people do every year, but without a specific plate for the tradiation it is lost and forgotten when children grow up. The idea of having this special plate means that even when the children don't 'belive' anymore and you stop setting out the treats you still have the plate and it triggers the memories - what a great idea :)

Has to be a tree, even if it's teeny. And it HAS to be real. If I was forced to choose, I'd have the tree instead of the turkey.

Such a lovely part of Christmas to go and choose the tree and decorate it using all our old and new decorations with the children. We even have a dinosaur and farm animals on it from when the kids were small and nothing is allowed to be left off! Great Christmas memories...

AlpacaLypse · 25/11/2016 16:35

Plain white fairy lights. Miles of them. Have to be 'warm' creamy coloured, not those horrid chilly blue tinged LEDs.

AlpacaLypse · 25/11/2016 16:37

Did anyone other than me have a whale of a time choosing the most hideous naff things on the survey btw? Westie in a glass cloche bauble anybody?

mrsglowglow · 25/11/2016 17:23

www.homebase.co.uk/en/homebaseuk/30-white-star-string-lights-370913

Has to be tree lights. Christmas wouldn't feel right without them.

It just isn't Christmas without lots and lots of candles! But with small children and pets around tealight holders that cover the flame are essential

foxessocks · 25/11/2016 18:22

www.homebase.co.uk/en/homebaseuk/7ft-dew-drop-artificial-christmas-tree-369804

A Christmas tree of course!

LunaLoveg00d · 25/11/2016 18:31

Has to be these white fairy lights www.homebase.co.uk/en/homebaseuk/bright-white-led-christmas-lights-371088

Every year we get the tree out of the loft and every year the lights are never working! Maybe if we bought a decent set from Homebase they'd last more than one festive season.
