To celebrate Fairy Non Bio’s sponsorship of the Mumsnet Talk App, we’ve launched The Great Mumsnet Laundry Debate - as with all great Wink series, it's a three-parter. Part I was all about how often you wash your bed sheets and part II is about how much you wash your bra...

Bra washing can not only be time consuming but can also require a bit of brain power. First there’s the conundrum of how to wash them, then there’s how often to wash them. Do you put them on a gentle hand-wash setting with a delicate detergent? Do you put them in a mesh bag to protect the straps from getting caught up with other items? Perhaps you only put them in a machine with other light clothing so the elastic doesn’t get stretched by towels and jeans? Or maybe you simply bung them in with everything and put them on a 40C wash? The options can make your brain hurt. So how often do you wash your bra? Are you the kind of person who can’t wear a bra more than once? Or maybe you can wear it for a week?

Whatever your bra-washing process, share it with Fairy Non Bio in the thread below, and maybe even give us a live update from the Mumsnet Talk App as you’re waiting for the load to finish. If you avidly check out Mumsnet's talk boards, you should download the app for yourself. It's free, and allows you to be part of the conversation wherever you are!

All those who post below will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

lob them in with everything else

manfalou · 29/11/2016 10:54

They get thrown in the washing machine and dry on the radiator. Ive never considered washing them any other way. I have 3 bras I think, A pink, A blue and a teal. (that match nothing) ... I usually wear 2 a weekish and they put int he wash when they're ready. In the summer i have 2 wonder bra strapless ones that are cream

linasi · 29/11/2016 11:26

I'm very sorry for my bras but they don't get any special treatment. They go into the drum on a J wash with the rest of my clothes lol

I don't really have fancy bras though as I have been blessed in the booby department and fancy Ones are far too expensive to justify 😂

NickyEds · 29/11/2016 12:20

Mine go in the regular wash every couple of days. The options have honestly never made my brain hurt!

sianihedgehog · 29/11/2016 13:36

I wash my bra after every wearing by chucking it in with all the other laundry. If it doesn't survive I buy a more durable bra to replace it!

ell5454 · 29/11/2016 13:58

No special treatment it just goes in with everything else, I hate washing

Lovelybangers · 29/11/2016 14:49

I just put mine in with a load of laundry invite same shade.

Only really wash at 30C anyway, and on short daily cycles. Don't own a tumble dryer so they won't melt Grin

I do have a wonderbra strapless which I hand wash m I fear that it would lose its shape In the machine.

I wear regular bras about 3 times before washing but sports bra after every session.

HerRoyalFattyness · 29/11/2016 15:27

I just bung it in with everything else. I can't be bothered to do anything more than three it into the machine.

I only wear a bra once. Clean one everyday for me or I feel horrid.

robinson131 · 29/11/2016 15:49

I wash mine on a delicate wash every couple of days

sarahbrokenshire · 29/11/2016 16:10

I just pop mine in with the rest of the wash at 40 degrees. Il buy some nice pretty ones when iv lost the baby weight :)

itsalldyingout · 29/11/2016 17:40

Mine go in a padded bag from Lakeland - not a bra bag (they never fit in properly). Similar colours together, 30 degrees, delicate wash with non-bio detergent. Line dried if possible, or on an airer if not.

I used to lose wires all the time until I used a bag. They keep their shape better. too.

MAT12 · 29/11/2016 18:10

I just put my dark bras in the dark colours and white ones in with the whites. i dont really have any coloured bras so its simple for me

strawberrisc · 29/11/2016 19:23

I probably wear a bra about 3 days and then chuck it into a 30 degree wash with the rest of my stuff!

littlemouse15 · 29/11/2016 19:47

I wear it for a week maybee? and just bung it in with whatever is next in the washing machine. i dont own any fancy or nice bras :( so I dont really care.

topsy73 · 29/11/2016 20:59

I wash them with whites on a hot wash and only ever wear my bra once before washing it

clarem100 · 29/11/2016 20:59

i do them on their own on a delicate wash

Julieguy · 29/11/2016 23:27

I wear my bra for about 5 days then just wash it with similar colours on 40 degrees.

lolamia91 · 30/11/2016 02:09

every 3-4 days. i dont own that many as my breast size fluctuates insanely

OrlandaFuriosa · 30/11/2016 11:10

Depends on bra status and age..and occasion..

Aged needing replacement , bung in with similar colours
Middle aged, ditto but check temoerature
New, treat with TLC

Bras To Impress.. delicate, mesh bag..

How often..
Every other day in Spring, autumn winter, unless have got extra hot and steamy..summer, every day.

Bras To Impress... as the occasions demand..

marshgirl · 30/11/2016 12:34

I wash mine every few days and put them in with all the other washing, nothing special.

Pmliu · 30/11/2016 14:45

The most I would wear one before I chuck it in the wash is twice

Kateallison16 · 30/11/2016 14:48

I pop them in a little pink mesh bag and on a delicates wash at 20.

If it's just sports bras or maternity bras I just pop them right in the wash as normal.

I tend to wear once and wash most of the time.

mo3733 · 30/11/2016 17:47

i wash mine every two days in the normal white wash load

Bellroyd · 30/11/2016 19:38

every 2 days on average

soph0077 · 30/11/2016 19:50

I can't even remember how often I wash mine ... Though I do have quite a few ...
