For many of us, there’s nothing more important than family. Nationwide have launched a new campaign where ordinary people tell us what’s important to them. Here, poet and mum Hollie McNish describes how her family makes her feel in her poem ‘Little Things’.

Nationwide would love you to watch Hollie below and tell them what feelings and memories the poem stirs up about your own family. They’d love to hear about the moments in your own DC’s lives that you will treasure forever.

Here’s what Nationwide has to say: “At Nationwide our members have a voice. For many of us, there's nothing more valuable than family. In this poem, 'Little Things', poet and mum Hollie McNish says it all better than we ever could.”

So, what “little things” about your family will you always treasure? If you were talking to your DC, what would you tell them about the things that they do and how it makes you feel?

Everyone who posts a comment below will be entered into a prize draw where one Mumsnetter will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

This is nice, makes me remember the little quiet moments that were just ours. Odd advert for a bank however but then they all seem to be these days

Just seeing them happy day after day.

When he makes me things or does a painting for me. It fills me with happiness and makes me proud. I keep them all. The Christmas mug he designed where mummy, daddy, sister and himself are a family of reindeer or the snowglobe he made from a Coca Cola bottle and glitter. When the 'snow' clears you see his smiling photo. They are just some of the things he does that makes me feel warm inside, bless him.

He has the cheekiest smile - his sticks his two front teeth out and scrunches his face up and his cheeks are so nomable.

I love cuddles - special moments to treasure. Whether it's cuddles when they are upset or cuddles when your watching their favourite tv show. You can't beat it

Watching and listening to this poem makes me remember the first moment I saw my little one. That insane feeling of love and terror, stronger than I've ever felt either emotion before. How on earth have I been given this massive responsibility of taking care of and raising this tiny human being. The start of a very long and incredible journey - who knows where it will take me. Wow! The feels!! Toast has never tasted so good!

No matter how bad a day you've had, there is nothing to match watching your child sleeping for making it seem like all's well with the world

I treasure the memories of when they were young and relied on me for everything. Increasingly, I will become reliant on them. That's famiy, I guess!

Every moment spent with my granddaughter is precious, I love her innocence, her wisdom, for one so young (7), and her inquiring mind.

Lazy days when there's no school and they play with their toys and make a mess and want me to join in. Their beaming smiles and sense of achievement in completing a puzzle or picture.

I love the little quiet moments - watching him sleep, having a cuddle on the sofa, playing with dinosaurs on the carpet - the moments when I realise that we are raising a wild and wonderful boy who is ready to take on the world!

Now that they aren't babies any more it's the excitement they get from entering taekwondo tournaments and working their way through the gradings. In a normal lesson I love the look of concentration on their little faces and the respect they show to those teaching them.

meeting my son for the 1st time. he was 21 months old and we went to the fosters carers house to meet him. he was shy at first but we pushed a ball back and forth and gave him a winnie the pooh teddy. he then walked over, sat on my knee and gave me a big smile. after 10 years of trying, I was finally a mummy :)
