For many of us, there’s nothing more important than family. Nationwide have launched a new campaign where ordinary people tell us what’s important to them. Here, poet and mum Hollie McNish describes how her family makes her feel in her poem ‘Little Things’.

Nationwide would love you to watch Hollie below and tell them what feelings and memories the poem stirs up about your own family. They’d love to hear about the moments in your own DC’s lives that you will treasure forever.

Here’s what Nationwide has to say: “At Nationwide our members have a voice. For many of us, there's nothing more valuable than family. In this poem, 'Little Things', poet and mum Hollie McNish says it all better than we ever could.”

So, what “little things” about your family will you always treasure? If you were talking to your DC, what would you tell them about the things that they do and how it makes you feel?

Everyone who posts a comment below will be entered into a prize draw where one Mumsnetter will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

My ds loves to bake but when he does what a mess! All my cookbooks are stuck together where he's used them but his baking is really good and I get to clean up - that's when he needs my help!

Nothing can beat the feel of little arms around your neck and the words, "I love you," whispered into your hair.

I love the fact they always tell me have a good day when I'm working and always look out for one another. They love and bond they all have makes me feel super proud to be raising awesome kids.

Seeing my boys spontaneously cuddle each other... shows they really love each other.

There's so much I treasure about my kids. My little daughter at 2 is amazing, she's learning to talk and do things and I love her cute attempts. She is at that age when everything is funny and it's hard to feel cross with her for doing something a bit naughty when she throws her chubby little arms round my neck and gives me a kiss. I'm storing all these little memories up and trying to save them in my mind because childhood passes so fast. My eldest two are 16 & 15 and it was no time since they were tiny like my daughter. I'm cherishing spending time with them all and making memories by doing fun activities and things that are a bit different with them.

I treasure the random hugs, being called Mummy when they are creeping for something, the creeping into my bed on a Saturday morning for hugs. Love my girls and can't imagine life without them.

It is our special little rituals when I am tucking them in at night. They are all very different, and each child loves that we have something just between us. It is always a lovely end to the day, so they can rest peacefully and I can feel that I have done something right ;)

Her strength of character, her little ways of making her mark on the world, how she involves her favourite toys in her everyday life, the other day, I found them all on the bottom of the stairs, she told me "If I get them to sit there on the naughty step, I won't have to go on the naughty step until I am really old, like 21", She's 3! :)

meeting my son for the 1st time. he was 21 months old and we went to the fosters carers house to meet him. he was shy at first but we pushed a ball back and forth and gave him a winnie the pooh teddy. he then walked over, sat on my knee and gave me a big smile. after 10 years of trying, I was finally a mummy :)

Now that they aren't babies any more it's the excitement they get from entering taekwondo tournaments and working their way through the gradings. In a normal lesson I love the look of concentration on their little faces and the respect they show to those teaching them.

I love the little quiet moments - watching him sleep, having a cuddle on the sofa, playing with dinosaurs on the carpet - the moments when I realise that we are raising a wild and wonderful boy who is ready to take on the world!
