For many of us, there’s nothing more important than family. Nationwide have launched a new campaign where ordinary people tell us what’s important to them. Here, poet and mum Hollie McNish describes how her family makes her feel in her poem ‘Little Things’.

Nationwide would love you to watch Hollie below and tell them what feelings and memories the poem stirs up about your own family. They’d love to hear about the moments in your own DC’s lives that you will treasure forever.

Holding their warm hands, stroking their furry backs, kissing their beautiful foreheads. Just knowing that I grew these wonderful beings! The sheer joy they bring.

I'm treasuring the little mispronounced/made up toddler words they say, the milestones, the holidays and special outings, the pure joy in my older son's face when he first saw his baby brother in hospital, the cuddles and kisses they give just so, for no special reason, I even treasure the little voices in the night that shout that their covers aren't straight ;)

Watching my DDs together. From the first moment the apprehensive two year old held her little sister to their developing relationship 6 months down the line. I have sisters and know what a special bond that can be. (Although if my experience is anything to go by there will be a few bumps along the way).

I treasure every giggle and conversation we have in his own silly little baby babble language. It always sounds like such a serious conversation and sometimes he puts his hands on his face like hes sighing- those funny moments showing the character of your child are prescious x

Another who loves to see them sleep and when they unintentionally fall asleep on you theyre at rheir most vulnerable and they trust you to keep them safe and loved

As babies when they were asleep and i kissed them they wouod smile in their sleep.

My son said to me "I chose you". I'm so privileged and proud to be a mum but more importantly his mum

Our little one is six weeks old, so at the moment it's her smile that we treasure - it's just so magical!

My daughter is five and she went to her first Italian class after school last week. While she was in the bath that night, I asked her how to say hello in Italian. She looked at me with a proud smile and said "Kum Bah Ya". I will never forget it! Love how cute and enthusiastic she is about everything in life

My little girls giggles when I tickle her, when she looks at me and says 'meemy' and when she goes all daft and hugs and kisses me to avoid bedtime.

I will always treasure the first hours and days with my DCs following birth when it was just me and the baby before going home. You just stare at them and smile and wonder at the perfectness of them.

i treasure just being here at home and watching her grow up and how she makes me laugh everyday!

I treasure every thing! They surprise me in all sorts of different ways - using a new word, facial expressions, making me laugh, making me proud

My son has aspergers and I treasure every second i see him genuinely happy and care free as child should be . As every day is a struggle and presents new challenges for him.

But on the whole he is a very happy child and so loving

Her humour, her wild personality and watching her sleeping. The little one is watching her develop her personality and her trying to walk.

I remember when I got back from a week away with work. I brought a couple of souvenirs back for her and when I gave them to her, she said I didn't have to buy her any gifts, all she wanted was me :)

I love how they are so well behaved. You can not buy that!

The magical times we share together as a family - they can't be recaptured

Watching the random games they make up - they have such wacky imaginations!

Her laughter, its infectious, when she laughs, I laugh!

Everything! But I love the first smile and interaction the most
