Everyone knows that having children and getting a good night’s sleep don’t go hand in hand, and that in a sleep deprived state we can do some pretty silly things. Obviously sleep deprivation is not fun to deal with but it does cause some pretty amusing situations – even if they may not seem funny at the time...! BleepBleeps would like to hear about the most ridiculous things you have done due to your DCs keeping you up at night.

Here’s what BleepBleeps have to say: ‘Thank you so much for joining us on our mission for a good night’s sleep for all the family. We are so excited to announce the latest addition to the BleepBleeps family! Suzy Snooze: a Smart Baby Monitor, Sleep Trainer, and Nightlight all in one.

She’s the first of her kind, an innovative sleep companion that helps babies, children and the whole family get a great night’s rest. We’ve created Suzy with the Mumsnet community, and Professor Colin Espie - Chief Medical Officer of Sleepio.

We are so excited to show off everything she can do, take a peek at our Kickstarter page to watch our new video and hear what Mum’s (and babies) think of Suzy, and if you like it we’d love it if you can support us to bring her to life!

Thank you so much!

Tom & the BleepBleeps team.’

To find out more about Suzy Snooze take a look at this short video and please let us know your thoughts below

So what stupid things have you managed to do when in dire need of some decent sleep? Have you gone to the supermarket in your pyjamas? Have you put your keys in the fridge? Managed to use face cream instead of toothpaste? Or even tried to use the TV remote as a phone?

Whatever silly things you have got up to, add your story below and you’ll be entered into a prize draw where one Mumsnetter will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

I put my PIN number instead of the alarm code in the alarm at work and set the alarm off

mo3733 · 24/06/2016 20:48

ICanSeeYourPixelss · 24/06/2016 20:54

LeeR1985 · 24/06/2016 21:06

I accidentally got a shower while wearing my PJ's because i'd been up all night with my daughter when she was a baby haha

I stood on my door step pointing and pressing the car fob at the front door. I was stood there for a few minutes and couldn't understand why the front door wasn't opening and starting to panic about how I'd be able to get in the house. Eventually I realised and sheepishly went in the house, hoping that none of the neighbours had been watching.

Another time, I got the bus home from work. It was only when I got home and asked my husband why the car wasn't on the drive that I realised I had had the car at work with me.

lindat100 · 24/06/2016 21:42

I occasionally work night shifts and that combined with my daughter meant next to no sleep. I hadn't long gone back to work after maternity leave and after a really bad day I had to do a 10pm-7am shift. I think I put my head down for a few zzzs around midnight, the next thing I know it was 3am. I couldn't keep my eyes open so I put my head down again thinking if they needed me my colleagues would wake me up.

The next thing I know my manager was waking me up at 5am and telling me to go home. He said it in a nice way and I felt really bad that I was so useless that day, he was very sympathetic so I went home and slept some more! It was the most sleep I'd had for months and it was the best sleep I had for a long time after!!

I probably inherited the skill from my mother, I caught her sleeping stood up once. She owned a shop and I came out to find a customer stood patiently waiting and they said "shhh, your mum is sleeping!" she was stood with her arms crossed!

Drove straight into our garden wall after having DS. Not reversed into it or anything tricky like that. Directly head on into it. Then wasn't sure what to do, so instead of reversing back I carried on and made it worse. Was amusing telling the insurance company: Were any other vehicles involved? nope. And your speed? About 8mph. Hoping I don't do the same or something similar this time with DD, especially as wall is still there but we own a 7 seater now instead!! Shock

All sorts! Found my phone in the fridge once, have put clothes on inside out then had people tell me later in the day...thats the most embrassing I think!

Charbru123 · 24/06/2016 22:25

Milk in the cereal cupboard!

RedCrimson · 24/06/2016 22:25

I brushed my teeth with my mascara brush. I got my toothbrush out, put toothpaste on it, saw my mascara and realised I needed to put some on, and forgot about the toothbrush for a second. Took the mascara brush out of the mascara and proceeded to brush my teeth. That stuff burns your lips!!!

lorilizy · 25/06/2016 07:28

I've put the phone in the fridge, took ages to find it. Had to ring it and then try and locate it from the muffled ringing

Fitzsimmons · 25/06/2016 09:41

Tried to dress my large three year old son in his 3 month old sister's baby vest.

Stood outside my house for about five minutes trying to work out why the door wasn't opening with my work's key card.

Put squash in my coffee

SmallBee · 25/06/2016 09:41

Put a tea bag on my toast and made a nice cup of hot water and butter. Blush

SmallBee · 25/06/2016 09:41

Oh and tried to open the front door to my house using the button on my car key

Cailin7 · 25/06/2016 10:06

After one particularly bad nights sleep where 2 of my 3 DCs were sick all night and the other the previous night,I got up in a trance and did get to work. All of us have had that zombie feeling of going through the motions and just trying to function the next day. Following congratulating myself on this getting to work achievement I realised in the dark I had put on 2 matching shoes however one was navy and one was black. You've just got to laugh haven't you and tell everyone it is a new fashion trend.

strawberrisc · 25/06/2016 10:21

I breastfed my daughter until she was 4 months old so she must have been about this old when I read a book about making a home-made activity centre across her cot. They suggested changing the items every couple of weeks to keep baby stimulated. This resulted in me waking up after giving her a bottle at 3am and deciding to change her activity centre. I then found myself in the garage drilling holes in her milk-scoops to thread through the elastic over her cot. I'm sure the neighbours were thrilled.

GeoffreysGoat · 25/06/2016 15:27

I regularly have to put the teabag into the cup of hot water having totally forgotten how far along the process I'd got.

Scariest was leaving my hair straighteners on and going out for the day.

Worst was forgetting to pay a whole quid for parking on the say dh was made redundant. £30 for the fine was most of our food budget, and all from sheer stupidity😞

sammylea80 · 25/06/2016 15:29

I often find the TV remote in the fridge lol ... sleep I NEED sleep

Iamthemotherofdragons · 25/06/2016 16:20

I used to regularly forget to lock my car - luckily never had anything taken.

Mummy2aRockstar · 25/06/2016 16:33

The usual milk left out, coffee in the fridge, put my phone in the washing machine and my sons cheesy socks in my bag.
One night around 4am I started stripping the bed, obviously dreaming about what needed to be done. Hubby was not amused.

Ohb0llocks · 25/06/2016 18:17

I used to make myself small packed lunches to get me through the nights with DS (reflux baby). I once grabbed this instead of the wipes at the other side of me and wiped his arse with a cheese sandwich.

Sleepysausage · 25/06/2016 18:22

Countless times I have put the kettle in the fridge

CommonBurdock · 25/06/2016 18:25

Crawled out of bed, got the kids up, dressed and breakfasted and drove them to school, only to realise it was Saturday. Wondered why it was so quiet...
