Everyone knows that having children and getting a good night’s sleep don’t go hand in hand, and that in a sleep deprived state we can do some pretty silly things. Obviously sleep deprivation is not fun to deal with but it does cause some pretty amusing situations – even if they may not seem funny at the time...! BleepBleeps would like to hear about the most ridiculous things you have done due to your DCs keeping you up at night.

Here’s what BleepBleeps have to say: ‘Thank you so much for joining us on our mission for a good night’s sleep for all the family. We are so excited to announce the latest addition to the BleepBleeps family! Suzy Snooze: a Smart Baby Monitor, Sleep Trainer, and Nightlight all in one.

She’s the first of her kind, an innovative sleep companion that helps babies, children and the whole family get a great night’s rest. We’ve created Suzy with the Mumsnet community, and Professor Colin Espie - Chief Medical Officer of Sleepio.

We are so excited to show off everything she can do, take a peek at our Kickstarter page to watch our new video and hear what Mum’s (and babies) think of Suzy, and if you like it we’d love it if you can support us to bring her to life!

Thank you so much!

Tom & the BleepBleeps team.’

To find out more about Suzy Snooze take a look at this short video and please let us know your thoughts below

So what stupid things have you managed to do when in dire need of some decent sleep? Have you gone to the supermarket in your pyjamas? Have you put your keys in the fridge? Managed to use face cream instead of toothpaste? Or even tried to use the TV remote as a phone?

Whatever silly things you have got up to, add your story below and you’ll be entered into a prize draw where one Mumsnetter will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

I've gone out a few times wearing slippers - I now only use crocs as slippers so no one notices :)

Also decided to have another baby! I love all my DC dearly but having another before the first sleeps through was not the best idea and should not have been decided while tired!

OnlyHereForTheCamping · 21/06/2016 16:22

Went out to the pub with my sisters and was so crazed with lack of sleep and excitement of getting out I wore odd boots with different sized heels. Lurched about the place like a fool but had a great night

Redhotchillidog · 21/06/2016 16:29

When i finally awake from my sleep deprived coma I may remember all the things that i have done! Until then I still cannot spell for toffee, I mix words and i have the co-ordination of an elephant on a ice rink.

When I am exhausted I often do silly things including

Taking a lunchbox to work with my sandwiches in, only to realise at lunchtime that I had taken the wrong one and it contained a block of cheese! - (This happened twice - I now keep cheese in a different type of storage box)

Putting a load of washing on without putting the detergent in.

Getting on the wrong bus as I forgot I was meeting someone at the station not going to work.

Trying to use my oyster card instead of a key to open the door.

Gave my 4 yr old a yoghurt in bed at 4am as she woke me up say she was hungry
Served it to her with a dinner fork
That was a pleasant gooey mess in the morning
Poor child did look confused but ffs

Catsgowoof · 21/06/2016 17:02

Most of my belongings end up in the fridge.. I'm often angrily bipping my car keys at the front door.. once went to completely the wrong place to meet my friend, without my phone which was probably in the fridge..

LifeIsGoodish · 21/06/2016 17:24

Rushed out of dc1's nursery to feed the baby, got home and realised that I'd forgotten dc2 at the nursery.Blush

LifeIsGoodish · 21/06/2016 17:25

Dc2 being the baby who needed to be fed.

FlopIsMyParentingGuru · 21/06/2016 17:39

Asked DH to turn off the lamp which was still on.

Said lamp being on the take next to my side of the bed. Where I was sat.

Bless him he got up and walked around the bed and turned off the lamp without complaint.

Put spoons in the bin and the teabag in the sink.
Left the keys in the front door - good job I have lovely neighbours.

TheBigRedBoat · 21/06/2016 17:59

I once made coffee in the baby bottle and formula in my cup and didn't realise till I had taken a huge swig. Yuk.
Less funny - poured cold water in the babies bowl to warm up food and poured the boiling water over my hands to wash them. That one HURT and I couldn't sleep for days even if the baby was quiet!

ChipsRedWhite · 21/06/2016 18:01

Too many things to list! The main one though were leaving my bag (with all the nappies, change of clothing and my purse!) right by my front door when going to a trip to ikea - about 30 minutes away. Only realised when I went to pay - I had to abandon my trolly and got back to find my lovely bin men had put it in the back, behind the bin!

I never seemed to be able to take in the names of anyone I met at baby/toddler groups - 7 years on when I bump into them now I'm terrified as I really should know them (they know mine!).

MeInHoney86 · 21/06/2016 18:14

Drove up town because I was too exhausted to walk, got what I needed then walked home . A couple of hours later I went to the car to go pick up dd and had a panic that it had been stolen..before remembering it was still parked in town. Narrowly avoided a ticket with about 10minutes to spare!

CazY777 · 21/06/2016 18:24

I found a needle in a bra when I took it out of the draw and put it in an empty glass. I took the glass downstairs but when I went to look for the needle later it wasn't there. When I told DH he convinced me that I must have dreamt it and I couldn't remember if I had or not. Found the needle on the side a few days later.

Sierra259 · 21/06/2016 18:54

Putting orange juice on cereal.
Freaking out about not being able to find my phone, then realising I was talking on it, while simultaneously looking for it.
Paying at the supermarket self-service till and then leaving without picking up my shopping.

Mitchell50 · 21/06/2016 19:01

It's not me but in the first couple of weeks of pfb's life I shipped DH out to get some things from the chemist. He decided he should show some initiative and get some extra bits and pieces. In his sleep deprived mind he thought 'we don't have a toothbrush for pfb!' He proceeded to spend a good 10 minutes getting annoyed in the toothbrush section that he could find a teeny tiny toothbrush before he realised that she had no teeth...bless him

Cerealchanger · 21/06/2016 19:05

I got lost on the way to work. I'd been working there for 8 years.

FilthyPout · 21/06/2016 19:22

I managed to mix up the date for a Christmas party and turned up a week late. I was devastated as if been looking forward to it for months!

IonaAilidh11 · 21/06/2016 19:39

put milk in cupboard, got up thinking it was a school day when it was a sunday, thought it was night when it was day, the list is endless

Ashhead24 · 21/06/2016 19:41

This morning I tried to wash my tablets down with my deodorant. Mostly I'm so sleep deprived I don't even remember the stupid things I do daily.

HamletsSister · 21/06/2016 19:47

Sent the children (and myself, I am a teacher) to school on a Saturday.

thanksamillion · 21/06/2016 19:55

I've tried to open the front door with the remote car key. Repeatedly.

Atlas15 · 21/06/2016 20:20

Put the teabags in the fridge and the remote control. Put the spoon in the bin and the yogurt pot in the sink.
Hoovered up milk

Newlywed123 · 21/06/2016 20:21

My husband went out for a few drinks with a friend, when he got back i was in bed asleep. He woke me up to tell me he's home. I looked at him called him Ian and went back to sleep. Ian is my stepdad. He told me the next day and I was rather creeped out!

qualitycontrolrequired · 21/06/2016 20:33

Made a chilli for tea - went to pour the hot water in from the kettle to make the sauce and poured in the coffee from the percolator. Was so sleep deprived that I didn't even notice and only twigged when my hubby commented on the chilli tasting a bit odd! I'd even eaten most of it without realising as I was that damn tired!
