We’ve been asked by Cadbury Buttons to find out about the everyday precious moments you share with your child, that fill you with joy.

So, what are your everyday shared moments of joy? Perhaps it's singing along in the car to a favourite tune or re-reading a favourite book together? Maybe it's watching a favourite movie together for the umpteenth time, or that last cuddle before they go to sleep?

Whatever your shared moments of joy are, please share them with Cadbury Buttons (and each other!) below. If you have any pictures of these moments, please feel free to share them below, we’d love to see them! All MNers who post on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Please note your posts and images may be included on Cadbury's pages on MN, their social media channels, and possibly elsewhere, so please only post if you're comfortable with this.

I absolutely love my son's imagination and the random things he comes out with every day. His smile lights up a room and his laugh is so infectious!

My children (17 and 22) have grown up rapidly and are becoming more and more independent by the day. Which is a good thing for them as they're both, fingers crossed, going to enjoy a bright and happy future. However, I sometimes feel at a loose end and not always needed, well not like I used to be. So, nowadays, my joyous moments are when we sit and chat and laugh over a cuppa - asking advice, having a gossip ... just some special talk time that keeps us close as they start to spread their wings.

Getting messy with glitter, glue and paint is always good fun

hdh747 · 16/05/2016 11:30

Snuggling up for bedtime books.

barbsbarbs · 16/05/2016 11:47

my everyday moments with my DCs dont cost money, they are sitting together at the kitchen table at the end of the day, talking laughing eating and watching tv together or a film with popcorn, just being together.

Playing tennis in he garden with my youngest boy, Alex. Great fun and special times!

I love having a dance around the living room with my daughter. She loves it when I copy her moves.

When my little man wakes up, he climbs on my laptop, and we sit for a few minutes just hugging, him still half-asleep. Always makes me think that soon he will grow up and wouldn't want to sit on my lap. He also has the biggest smiles for me and tells me every day that I am beautiful.
My older son has autism and is non verbal. Life could be tough for him and us as a family. Every evening when he goes to bed, I tuck him in and whisper a lullaby in his ear, which makes him giggle. He cannot talk but in his own way he tells me how much he loves me too, by kissing me on the head.
My such two different boys, my universe and my joy.

The feeling when even though they're not a baby anymore, they still come for cuddles

RACHELSMITH45 · 16/05/2016 14:14

Picking my daughter up from school, I miss her lots and get the biggest cuddle.. I know it's a moment that won't be forever but I'll make the most whilst she still likes mummy cuddles!:-)

My son has Aspergers, so every day can be a struggle, but likewise rewarding. Sometimes it's the mature way he can handle a situation, sometimes his sense of humour which comes completely out of the blue, sometimes his decision making. Whatever, when you have a child who you feel the odds are stacked against, and they have to work twice as hard just to keep up with everyone else, the rewards can mean everything, and can keep you going on a bad day.

CopperPan · 16/05/2016 14:39

Dinner time with the family every day - we always make an effort to eat together and share our day.

RubyFlint · 16/05/2016 15:21

"you're my best friend Mummy". My heart melts every time I hear this.

Sitting having tea and cake in a tea shop with my 6 year old daughter, making plans and sharing cake. Love this. Something I enjoy doing with my own mum too.

The big hug I get every day when I collect her from school. She's not at the embarrassed stage yet and she literally jumps into my arms and squeezes me tight. Bliss!

thingamijig · 16/05/2016 16:11

Dancing round the living room to our favourite songs is one of my favourite things to do. Both my son and daughter love it and the smiles and giggles when we do silly moves are amazing.

Also the simple joy of walking along holding hands chatting. I feel intense love when my 3 year old insists on holding my hand. To the point I've strained my arm pushing the buggy with one hand so I can hold his!! Smile

jandoc · 16/05/2016 17:13

seeing their happy faces smiling when playing is wonderful

theredjellybean · 16/05/2016 17:23

mine are all grown up , but when they arrive home for a sunday lunch and pile into my arms for big cuddle as if they were 5 and just home from first day at school.

wjanice121 · 16/05/2016 17:47

Going for day trips and doing something as simple as playing card games in the train.

We had a lovely time this weekend, jumping into the sea in Llandudno

Purplehonesty · 16/05/2016 18:28

Mine is swimming lessons. DC are 6 and 3 and the youngest has just started having a private lesson too.

Watching ds swim by himself and under water and seeing the smile on Dds face as she is whizzed around the pool is priceless.

It always makes me teary without fail to see them trying to hard and enjoying themselves.

Buttons23 · 16/05/2016 19:09

Mornings give me alot of joy with my son. He is just so playful, cheerful and really loving in the morning. So pleased to see me and he gives more cuddles and kisses in the morning than any other part of the day.

pennwood · 16/05/2016 19:12

My shared moments of joy are when the foster children become settled & they want to have a kiss and cuddle, over coming all their previous troubles.

sarah861421 · 16/05/2016 19:30

mine are teenagers now, and nothing gives me greater pleasure than when we go for a long walk and they just talk. sometimes about nothing, sometimes its something important - doesnt really matter

mo3733 · 16/05/2016 19:31

bath time is always really special because it s a chance to talk and laugh and wash the cares of the day away

Princessxo · 16/05/2016 19:53

For me it has to be story time or when we start saying the exact same thing at the same time and we're both trying to say jinx at the same time.

Blizy · 16/05/2016 20:03

When I smile at my 26 months old ds, he looks up and signs "I love you" total heart melty moment.
