We’ve been asked by Pampers to find out which songs get your babies grooving.

Pampers says, "Here at Pampers we know that babies love to get their groove on without a saggy nappy getting in the way. That’s why NEW Pampers Active Fit have Magical Pods, absorbent channels that help to distribute wetness evenly, so they don’t sag and stay up to 2 times drier than the next leading brand. We’d love to hear what song gets your baby moving – let us know by commenting on the thread below. Plus you can try new Pampers Active Fit for free here.

So, do you have a traditional lullaby that your baby loves? Maybe your toddler loves to boogie to the radio, or do you and your DCs even make up your own songs? Perhaps there’s a song that gets everybody moving in your family and you can never get out of your head!

Pampers would also love to hear about the stories behind the song, for example, what made them meaningful in your family, and why you think your baby loves a particular song?

Share the songs that get your babies grooving on this thread, whether they are nursery rhymes, top ten hits or theme tunes from their favourite shows!

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw to win a £300 Love2Shop voucher!

Thanks and good luck,

Piano man by billy Joel. God knows why though.

TyrannosaurusBex · 25/02/2016 07:39

DD1 absolutely loved Peter Kay's version of Amarillo when she was tiny, we could defuse a strop just by singing it.

wutheringalice · 25/02/2016 08:33

When my son was a baby, 'Dream a Little Dream' by Mama Cass was his favourite (although 'Gangnam Style' was also popular. That was fun.)

Now, at 3, he loves Taylor Swift and Beyonce- he does a very 'interesting' interpretation of the 'Single Ladies' dance. I'm thinking of hiring him out for parties.

Bump the elephant, for all 4 of them. Grin

Buttons23 · 25/02/2016 09:58

My 2 year old son will always get up and dance to Uptown Funk. He loves it!

If we are singing children's songs he likes 5 little ducks when swimming one day, he knows all the little actions and is starting to sing it(speech delay)

BathshebaDarkstone · 25/02/2016 10:05

I should have read the whole question. It was on when DS1 was tiny and I love the song, so I just kept singing it. Grin

Ac/dc songs (Whole lotta Rosie, Back in Black, and Thunderstruck) helped my 13 month old DS relax since he was a newborn. he now dances like crazy when he listen to them!

'Row, row row the boat' was always a winner and accompanied by lots of giggles

ButterflyOfFreedom · 25/02/2016 11:57

DS (3) 'I like to move it' from the soundtrack of Madagascar (though DS sings 'I like the movie movie' !)

DD (1) 'Row, row, row your boat' complete with actions of course!

Our youngest is nearly 4 years old and still loves mummy singing u are my sunshine x

bettythebuilder · 25/02/2016 14:12

When dd was a baby we started singing a little made-up lullaby to her "it's time to get ready for beddy-byes, it's time to get ready for bed. It's time to get ready to snuggle your teddy..." (you get the idea!). She loved it all through toddlerhood, and now she's older I still sing it to her. It's 'our' little song Smile

GlitterGlassEye · 25/02/2016 18:16

Intoxicated by Martin Solveig Grin. Been dancing round the furniture to that since before she could walk independently. Anything with a good beat now sets her off.

She may be a raver like her mum and dad used to be.

ilovesprouts · 25/02/2016 20:21

My dcs loved me to sing round and round the garden they always smiled and now they sing to there children Smile

multiplemadness · 25/02/2016 20:25

My twins have always loved Val Doonican - raffertys motor car. My mum always sang it to me and now it's become a bit of a family tradition!

Toast85 · 25/02/2016 21:02

'She'll be coming round the mountain' is my dd's favourite, and it was my favourite as a baby too! I have gotten pretty good at making up all sorts of random verses so that I can keep the song going as long as possible.

Quokka12 · 25/02/2016 21:03

It has been the same from birth to now 6 - we sing the candlelight carol but change the words in the chorus to holly Ann go to sleep and we'll play again in the morning mummy is asking the holly to go to sleep.

bitingcat · 25/02/2016 21:13

We used to sing to the tune of 'The Farmer's in his Den' but changed the words to, 'No crying allowed/aloud' It works as a round so DP and I would sing it in harmony.(It sounds really pretty). It was a real fail safe to calm our daughter when she was a baby. The pun in the words was a small thing that amused us frazzled parents.

lolo14 · 25/02/2016 21:49

Let it go! Frozen. It drives me bonkers

Featherbag · 25/02/2016 22:24

My 2yo's current favourite is QOTSA 'No-one Knows'. My 4yo is a massive Foos fan, his favourite is 'Best of You'!

FindYourStrength · 25/02/2016 22:49

My DD loves when I sing 'hotel California' by the Eagles Smile

TrollTheRespawnJeremy · 25/02/2016 22:51

Mine loved Beyonce's 'Single Ladies'

Wee arms and legs firing away in all directions.

She is 6 now, and the reaction is much the same Grin

Darcourse · 25/02/2016 23:04

One day I started singing/humming/bopping a random tune that my DS loved. It was a very familiar tune but I didn't know what it was called, I thought it might have been by Jean Michel Ja. Anyway after a lot of Googling I found out it was Popcorn by Hot Butter.

He still loves high energy upbeat tunes. I think he may be a raver when he grows up. Grin

Stom91 · 25/02/2016 23:05

My DD (2) loves one call away by Charlie puth. She's always singing it. It's such cute the emotion she puts into it Grin

MothersAreLikebuttons · 25/02/2016 23:07

Mynot loves an old scots song called three craws.

3 craws sat upon a wa'

it's brilliant. And the end the song says the fourth craw...wisnae there at a'. He shakes his head and grins...

HeartShapedBox · 25/02/2016 23:19

My ds1 (now 5) loved ich will by Rammstein. And anything by Queen, but especially another one bites the dust.

DD (3) dances to anything and everything. Full-on head-banging to row row row your boat. And megan traynors all about that bass. Usually sung in a "rock" voice.

Ds2 (2) likes twinkle twinkle, and row row row your boat, and let it go from frozen.
