With Christmas on it’s way, Homebase have launched a quiz on Mumsnet and would like you to have a go and let us know what you think of the result!

Please take a few minutes to do the quiz and find out what kind of Christmas host you are and return to this thread to let us know your result. Are you a last-minute shopper or an all year-round planner? Find out with our festive bit of froth.

Everyone who posts about their quiz results on this thread will be entered in to a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Homebase voucher.

Thanks & good luck,
MNHQ

First time thrower!

NotAllItsCrackedUpToBe · 19/12/2015 21:37

Military planner. Good fun quiz.

Benzalkonium · 19/12/2015 21:44

MilitAry planner... so wrong. I am a last minute pull together (but with home made mince pies.)

DartmoorDoughnut · 19/12/2015 21:44

Military Operator! I do have a freezer full of dishes sorted out and the turkey has been on order for a while BUT I've still got presents to wrap and send so slightly off!

MsMarple · 19/12/2015 22:14

It says Military Planner, and I do have a couple of Christmas-related spreadsheets... Blush

Flumplet · 19/12/2015 22:30

Consummate delegator - yes that's about right!!

theshooglypeg · 19/12/2015 23:28

Consummate delegator apparently. Wish I was, I'm more of a control freak military planner!

sofieellis · 20/12/2015 00:17

I got Military Operator, which probably is accurate most years. However, this year a huge financial worry (which has thankfully now been resolved), has prevented me from beng organised at all. Christmas shopping started today in my house - I have never been this late before!

Pmliu · 20/12/2015 01:38

I'm a First-time thrower, but with a lot of the question choices, they were not really relevant to me or necessary something I would pick

bluecheesedip · 20/12/2015 01:54

First time thrower but I'm so not...I have spreadsheets!!

Strawclutching · 20/12/2015 05:23

Military operator. Not surprised as I like to be organised so I can enjoy everything and so my mum can too.

Stoodles · 20/12/2015 07:18

Military operator
Probably true, I do like a list

patienceisvirtuous · 20/12/2015 07:32

First time thrower - scarily accurate.

I'm hankering after those festive bin bags now!

Blu · 20/12/2015 08:24

Military Operator.
Hmmm. I do the planning but it all srems to fall apart in the execution. And doesn't feel any less full on for it!
I would love to be like Nigella, effortlessly sliding a tray of something inherently delicious from the oven and not getting all hot in the process.

PurpleThermalsNowItsWinter · 20/12/2015 09:04

Military planner.
Half right. The only thing I plan is the shopping list & dinner. Most of the time we keep to traditions & make our own so, having done almost the same things every year for six years, we know how the day works. Only adaptions really are for the DC as they grow older.

sianihedgehog · 20/12/2015 09:52

Military operator. Think it might be skewed by where my decorations are, mind. They're all packed away in perfect condition because I haven't been able to put them up in years because of the cat!

nonnyno · 20/12/2015 12:54

Military Operator. What a time-wasting quiz.

happysouls · 20/12/2015 14:42

Military operator! Yes indeed that is me! Even though some of the questions didn't really apply as we do things a little differently in this household I am most definitely a planner! I like to make the most out of everything and the effort pays off!

powerup2 · 20/12/2015 15:10

It seems that I am the Consummate delegator...not sure that's true as I always seem to end up doing most things myself! Still good fun!

pillowaddict · 20/12/2015 15:23

Last minute pull it together - very true, particularly this year as we have just moved house, and only got the tree up this week! Still hosting Christmas though - hopefully it will all come good on the day!

Julieguy · 20/12/2015 15:34

I'm a Military planner. That's so right, I starting preparing in August/September!!!!

spababe · 20/12/2015 16:05

I got First Time Thrower but there's no way I fit into this category. i think the thing is that I have learnt over the years what is worth spending effort on and what can be bought in and save time. This isn't 1970 and it's MY Christmas too.

starlight36 · 20/12/2015 16:33

Consummate delegator. Probably a bit of truth in that as get caught up with comforting children or playing games at crucial cooking moments.

mwatmough · 20/12/2015 16:50

Military Planner

DurhamDurham · 20/12/2015 17:19

Military Operator apparently. As my husband is cooking this year I'll have to remember to stand back and resist the urge to take over Grin
