We’re pleased to announce that here at MNHQ, we’ve worked with Cadbury to create a shiny new chocolate bar emoticon Chocolate Smile

There are many occasions when a MNer may deserve a chocolate bar, and a moment of joy after your DCs have done something you’re particularly proud of may be one of these key moments. The more joyful the moment, the higher it might rate on the Joy-o-meter.

Cadbury say “What we’ve created in partnership with Mumsnet is a fun addition to the MN emoticon family which allows people to share their love of chocolate and how they feel about it. It’s something we feel passionately about in Cadbury and anything which brings people together in the joy of chocolate is a great moment to be embraced. Of course, we prefer the real thing, but who knows where the future will take these little emoticons so let’s wait and see Wink

So, what have your DCs done in the past couple of weeks that brought you some joy? Maybe your DC made you a cup of tea for the first time? Perhaps you’ve finally succeeded in potty-training? Or maybe your DC has done their homework without you reminding them? How would you rate this moment on the Joy-o-meter: 1 to 5 chocolate bars?

Whatever your moment of joy was, we’d love to hear about it!

Share your stories here, and offer a bit of chocolate to your fellow MNers if you like – everyone who adds a comment will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will receive a £200 John Lewis voucher.

Thanks and good luck Chocolate

My son has just recited one of his school play songs to me. He was happy that he remembered most of the words and the moves. Extremely cute.

I won't be able to go to see him this year, so I welled up.

My daughter learning to clean her room up after plenty of nagging . Doing this without being prompted was amazing. (would post 5 chocolate bars but it doesn't give me the option)

My darling daughter continues to impress me more than ever with her own mind and morals. She gets tested in her friendship group often but is independent and is not influenced by peer pressure at all. Im proud how she stands on her own two feet! xxx ChocolateChocolateChocolateChocolateChocolate

DS has come to the age where he hates being kissed and hates giving kisses but he suddenly gave me a kiss AND a hug when I passed a test. He was very proud and I was just pleased! Was definitely an aww moment.

My DC is now grown up, has a wife and 2 children & working. He has worked a miracle for me when I suddenly became very ill & couldn't use my bath or bathroom. He took a week of his holidays, caught a ferry to where I live & spent early morning until late at night for 6 days. He took out my bath, fitted a shower, put in and got everything that I need but wouldn't take a single penny for doing it when I know he doesn't have much money.ChocolateChocolateChocolate

I don't normally post, I just read though things. But I did have a recent Joy-o-meter event recently.

My 4 year old daughter asked for some paper and a pen, she told me that she was writing what she would like for Christmas to "Santa". After she had finished, I asked her to read it through to me.. (as her writing is still a work-in-progress) .. and her list to Santa was a well thought out list of what each of her sister's would love to get, some slippers for me and she had put a new laptop and a car wash for her dad. Lol..

It just made me smile so much that she had thought of others, that her wish list was for the rest of her family and she had not written anything down for herself.. really melted my heart :) Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate

We moved house last month and my youngest DC finally has his own bedroom. The first night in our new house he was so excited he went to bed for the first time and fell asleep without me having to lie down with him. He's done it every night since!

I really dislike the sponsored threads full stop - I very rarely partake in them. The questions are normally really facile anyway (a bit like this one frankly) and I don't want to prostitute my comments in the hope of winning a voucher or whatever.

MN is a place where people should freely share knowledge and information and support. I think the sponsoring of an emoticon takes it to another level and I will not be using this symbol, purely because it's sponsored by Cadburys.

I'll stick to the free ones I think. And I don't know anything about their business practices, well, I didn't till I read this thread anyway.

I don't like being part of an advertising campaign, basically (any more than I already am by posting on the site at all). So they can keep it.

DeirdreDoo · 30/11/2015 16:35

And I wondered why Flakes are now revolting. Now I know.

laurapotz · 30/11/2015 16:40
