McCain has asked us to find out what Mumsnetters’ favourite family teatime meal is.

Here’s what they say, “5th October sees the launch of the Nation’s Teatimes campaign by McCain, which sees the brand turn real families into teatime TV stars. McCain is asking real families from across the UK to share real life video clips of themselves enjoying their tea on their dedicated hub www.mccainteatime.co.uk. From Monday to Thursday, the family videos from across the country will be edited against the clock into a McCain ’Teatime Today' advert and aired on ITV later that same evening at 8.45pm during a teatime ad-break.”

Whether you eat tea around the table or tucked up on the sofa, from the hectic to the calm, to over in a flash, no matter what teatime is like in your house there is always good stuff happening and it's where some great family moments take place.

So, what’s your favourite family teatime meal? Maybe you love your family pizza evenings when everyone helps to add their own toppings? Do you have a great beef casserole that everyone enjoys? Or is just beans on toast that the family love?! Whatever it is, we’d love to hear it!

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw to win a £300 Love2Shop voucher!

Thanks

Cottage Pie with green veg & gravy

Mashed potato, fish fingers, peas and parsley sauce!

Our air fryer does oven chips brilliantly. And the dcs can use it easily to make their own tea. My homemade chicken pie is a treat, but some nights it has to be fishfigers/chicken goujons or similar with some oven chips when we need to eat quickly or haven't been shopping yet.

If you ask DD1 she would say pasta with cheese DS would say sausages and the baby would just grin Grin

I think the one that works best for everyone is roast chicken cooked with garden herbs, served with potato wedges and mixed veg.

The slow cooked pork casserole with samphire disappeared very quickly too - with no leftovers.

The best dinner is always the one that we eat together though no matter what is served.

We are big fans of good old Spag Bol!

Hannahchalke · 12/10/2015 19:20

It has to be the classic, chicken roast dinner. The one meal that we all love!

jilliang · 12/10/2015 19:39

New potatoes with butter, some slices of ham (preferably home boiled) and a fried egg. Easy to do, not much washing up and yummy

cocochips · 12/10/2015 19:42

Lasagne and salad

inspiron42 · 12/10/2015 19:46

Fishfingers and chips

Oldbiddywilkins · 12/10/2015 19:51

It has to be roast chicken with all the trimmings. There's something for everyone in the house with a roast and the kids get a healthy portion of veggies.

sarahbrokenshire · 12/10/2015 19:55

I love sausage and mash xxx

Maclairey · 12/10/2015 20:02

It has to be a Sunday roast here. I love a roast dinner. Ds1 loves Yorkshire puddings so he is happy!

KJaybaby · 12/10/2015 20:02

Our favourite meal is what the boys describe as 'pick and mix' .... we usually have mini garlic roast potatoes, chicken thighs & drumsticks, salad, bread, olives and dips..... it all goes in the middle of the table and we help ourselves! Yummy x

twannywun · 12/10/2015 20:09

littleme96 · 12/10/2015 20:42

Homemade pizza and garlic bread. We all choose our own toppings and sometimes fold the pizzas to turn them into calzones, but essentially the ingredients remain the same!

Hopezibah · 12/10/2015 20:43

If we ask our kids what they like best their favourite is chips, egg and peas. So whenever we want to be sure they've eaten really well that is what I make for teatime.

When my little girl had an op recently which meant she was nil by mouth the next morning, I cooked egg, chips and peas for her the night before so i knew she had a good meal to keep her going!
