McCain has asked us to find out what Mumsnetters’ favourite family teatime meal is.

Here’s what they say, “5th October sees the launch of the Nation’s Teatimes campaign by McCain, which sees the brand turn real families into teatime TV stars. McCain is asking real families from across the UK to share real life video clips of themselves enjoying their tea on their dedicated hub www.mccainteatime.co.uk. From Monday to Thursday, the family videos from across the country will be edited against the clock into a McCain ’Teatime Today' advert and aired on ITV later that same evening at 8.45pm during a teatime ad-break.”

Whether you eat tea around the table or tucked up on the sofa, from the hectic to the calm, to over in a flash, no matter what teatime is like in your house there is always good stuff happening and it's where some great family moments take place.

So, what’s your favourite family teatime meal? Maybe you love your family pizza evenings when everyone helps to add their own toppings? Do you have a great beef casserole that everyone enjoys? Or is just beans on toast that the family love?! Whatever it is, we’d love to hear it!

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw to win a £300 Love2Shop voucher!

Thanks

Our favourite family teatime only usually happens on a winter Sunday tea time - we have a big roast dinner at lunch time so come tea time, we only need a snack and we love to sit around the fire and toast crumpets on a toasting fork delicious with real butter and then we finish off with a homemade cake, always decorated by DD earlier that day

glennamy · 12/10/2015 13:30

We as a family like a curry, although only a Korma as DD's palette hasn't developed enough for anything hotter... although there is never anything left on her plate.

Homemade lasagne always goes down well here, it's one dish I can make and everyone will eat it.

pennwood · 12/10/2015 13:35

Fish, chips and mushy peas with wholemeal crusty bread all sat around the table together.

Frizzit24 · 12/10/2015 13:39

My families favourite meal would have to be roast chicken, loads of gravy and Yorkshire puddings and veg if I can get my kids to eat it.

cheryl100 · 12/10/2015 13:47

We love potato hash with crust!

rainbow1983 · 12/10/2015 13:54

We all love home made Lasagne, can't beat it!

Vegetarian fajitas with peppers and mushrooms are a favourite in our house, probably because we can all make them to our own preferences with guacamole, cheese and sour cream etc.

Laineyflo · 12/10/2015 14:08

Fajitas, my children love stuffing them full of chicken and peppers and topping them with guacamole. It gets a bit messy but it's tasty!

shroney · 12/10/2015 14:09

Roast chicken with McCain Easy roast potatoes - the duck fat ones are fab!

MrsHughesfamily · 12/10/2015 14:48

We love homemade burgers and chips! This way people can have them how they like. Kids usually add cheddar cheese, and we add chilli or stilton cheese! We also use lean steak mince, so they are healthier than shop brought burgers. And you can't go wrong with some chips on the side!!

tetchy1 · 12/10/2015 14:50

Brains fagots chips peas salt vinegar

ptak5566 · 12/10/2015 14:55

Spaghetti Bolognese, does get messy but that's half the fun!!

ziggy2407 · 12/10/2015 14:56

We love chicken wrapped in bacon with either chips, wedges or even as part of our roast with all the trimmings

davidhamill · 12/10/2015 15:03

With a newborn in the house we have come to learn something really quickly. If you want to eat, you had better do it quickly. Our little one seems to know when it is time for food and wakes up at these times precisely. We love quick food like nachos or a curry with micro rice :)

chrrobbo · 12/10/2015 15:06

Our current favourite is mexican styley wraps. chicken and peppers cooked with fajita seasoning and/or smoked paprika (vege version for me!), advocado (baby loves this too!), cheese, sour cream, refried beans, salad leaves and of course chilli sauce...well not for our boys but they'll soon love it too i'm sure ;-) something for us all and good (and sometimes messy!) fun making up you're own!

Maniacalparrot · 12/10/2015 15:07
