The team at Bassetts Vitamins are celebrating the re-launch of their range of vitamins for little ones, bigger ones and sort of in-betweeny ones and would love to hear the things your children have said that were beyond their years which made you smile.

They say "our products are delicious, fruity and tailored to every stage to support families every day, because we believe that every moment of family life counts".

So please share on this thread the nuggets your child has piped up with - the kind of thing you'd expect from a grown-up rather than a small child. If they said them at a particularly inopportune moment, all the better!

Add your comment to the thread and you'll be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for John Lewis.

Thanks and good luck

I asked my son if he wanted to go swimming and he said he would have to 'consider his options!'

grannybiker · 27/09/2015 21:08

Peter says Granny can still give great cuddles even though her booby has been cut off as he wouldn't be able to cuddle her at all if the cancer got her and he can just shift to the other side...

Kangakate · 27/09/2015 21:19

We were driving past some cut down trees my DC said it made her sad because birds and insects need the trees to live and we need them to breath. They need to less the tree cutting

When our beloved dog was put to sleep due to cancer my DD said 'don't worry mummy, if you get cancer through your tummy like Sasha too we'll put you to sleep too'

FrenchieMum2Be · 27/09/2015 21:51

I was angry with the bin men for not taking our bin. After I can back in the house I was still ranting to myself as I rinsed veg in the sink and my son (then 7) said something and a replied to him very sharply. He responsed with 'Do you need a glass of wine mummy'. Which pretty much shut me up right there and then.

Mum you really need to think through this purchase. Have we got enough this month? Ds4 regarding a bottle of squash

My 3 year old son announced "you should probably let Dad drive, he knows where hes going".....It is true that I have an awful sense of direction but I was gobsmacked when he came out with that!

My 4 year old, while out shopping with me was sitting in the trolley as I went through the checkout.

I got into a slight altercation with the man that was putting my shopping through due to the fact that one of my items was going through for more than advertised on the shelf!

The man was very persistent that the item should have been more and not wanting to get into a full blown argument in front of my daughter I grudgingly said I would leave it!

The now very smug looking cashier handed me my change and receipt and wished me a very condescending "Have a good day!!" When my 4 year ago led looked up and announced "If you do not have anything nice or good to say, it's far better to keep your mouth shut!!"

I turned on my heal a fled, but not before I could get a quick tongue stick out and (very condescendingly) wished the man a good day!! ??

My 7 yr old always asks if books we are reading are age appropriate. Also since age of 5 due to playing minecraft he knows that you can get obsidian rock and its super strong and hard to break

suzyq50 · 28/09/2015 09:07

When I burnt the roast chicken & it looked the size of a sparrow, my 5 year old said "perhaps we should be vegetarians"

nanoobaku · 28/09/2015 09:30

my youngest DS is autistic doesn't speak and hardly engages with you but give him a puzzle he sit there and complete which I would struggle it. He doesn't even look at the picture for reference

embabes7 · 28/09/2015 10:06

My son has only just turned two - but said happily at the dinner table - Hmmmm, Mommy this is delicious! I was gobsmacked! Not profound or anything but he's so young! haha

sleeponeday · 28/09/2015 10:44

My son was having a hard time from another child. When I asked him a couple of weeks later, he said he had no idea if it was still happening. "I just turn my ears off, when she starts to talk."

He was just three, and in preschool at the time. You had to add a zero to the age before I developed that knack for myself!

VickyRsuperstar · 28/09/2015 10:57

My youngest son when he was 3 said about his baby sister. "Be careful, she's very delicate and she's my precious" He has to be the cutest, most protective big brother ever.

backinschool · 28/09/2015 11:21

My daughter was struggling to ride a bike without stabilisers when she looked up at me and said 'I might be finding it tough now but when I do learn I'll be amazing because I've had so much practice and worked so hard to get better'. A great attitude for a tiny girl.

emily13 · 28/09/2015 11:37

Last time I babysat my friend's three year old he told me he didn't want juice, he wanted a cappuccino!

ProbablyMe · 28/09/2015 11:47

When my DS3 was 5 the school decide to start a School Council and each class had to hold a vote to elect their representative. My DS won and when he came home and told me he said "when I'm in charge elections will be a thing of the past".

aussiegeckogirl · 28/09/2015 13:23

my grandson tells me to "grow up" when I dance to music in the house when he is staying over!

jamielmdjs · 28/09/2015 13:47

The boys talk about playschool as 'work'. 'Off to work' they say. 'I hope you've made my sandwiches for lunch break.'

carpathian · 28/09/2015 13:49
