Overall, what do you think of the BBC?
I love the BBC, and I'm very proud of it's international reputation, I think it is well deserved.
- Do you think the BBC should provide more or less services (e.g. TV, online, iPlayer, radio) for the licence fee?
I think the balance of services is probably right. I admit a lot of the technical advances always seemed unecessary but I think it is because the Beeb is a market leader, something like iPlayer seemed wasteful at the time, now it is to be expected of a decent broadcaster.
What one thing would you like to see the BBC do more of?
Radio. I understood the Radio 1 revamp a year (two years?) ago trying to get back to the youth demographic, but you did unsettle SO many listeners in my age group who just had no where to go but crappy commercial radio. Every single time I have switched on Radio 2 I have felt annoyed, the music has never once appealed. Why on earth can't there be a radio station for an average, relatively standard music listener aged around 25-40? Radio 1 was too young, Radio 3 is weird. I feel like Goldilocks desperately turning the channels. I am completely perplexed why it was made abundantly clear that I was too old for Radio 1 without giving me somewhere else to go.
What one thing would you like the BBC do less of?
The Voice, it's just horse shit. And other shows of a similar ilk which are just hideously expensive and not really adding any new dimension to television, just repeating old tired clich??s.
Do you think what the BBC provides is high quality? If yes, why? If not, why not?
Yes, lots of shows to be proud of, fairly unbiased News reporting, a good reputation as said earlier and lots of content is being widely talked about - Doctor Who, Sherlock etc.
Do you think the BBC is distinctive and fresh? If yes, why? If not, why not?
Yes, see above
