Nurofen for Children have asked us to find out what makes Mumsnetters and their DCs feel better when they’re feeling under the weather during the winter months.

Here’s what Nurofen says, “Both adults and children may experience a sniffle or two this winter, but the whole family wants to feel their best to make the most of the festive season. From Halloween to Christmas, there are plenty of family occasions to enjoy during the colder months and being holed up in the house is no fun for anybody. If you or your children are struck down with cold or flu, Nurofen offers a range of products to help manage both adult and child symptoms including fever, sore throats, headaches and minor body aches.”

So, what do you do to help yourself and your DCs feel better when you are (both) down with a winter bug? Do you tuck yourself under multiple covers on the couch and put on a marathon of your favourite TV show? Perhaps you have a special recipe which you reserve for when you’re feeling under the weather which you find keeps you going? Or maybe a hot bath does the trick for you and your DC? Whatever it is, we’d love to hear it.

Everyone who leaves their comments below will be entered into a prize draw to win a £250 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck,

MNHQ

Avoid nurofen because it's full of caffeine. Better off with generic brand paraceutemol & rest, fraction of the price and no junk

I like being pampered when I'm ill. Snuggling down in bed or on the sofa with a cosy blanket, drinking hot lemon, sleeping as much as possible and not having to get up until I feel better.

lemsip for me! cuddles on the sofa, steamy bathrooms and early nights for the DC. And a squirt of breast milk up the baby's nose. charming!!!

janeyf1 · 13/11/2014 18:48

I enjoy a honey & chamomile sweetened tea while cuddling a hot water bottle. A good laugh helps shrug off the bugs more quickly too

21Catherine21 · 13/11/2014 18:49

There is nothing I like better when suffering from a bug than a tasty chicken sandwich followed by a big box of top notch chocolates Cake (not healthy but indulgent when I feel down)

muddledsheep · 13/11/2014 18:49

Hot blancmange! Always takes me straight back to childhood ??

edoody · 13/11/2014 18:49

A warm bath, a nice hot mug of hot chocolate and snuggling on the sofa with a movie! In this ideal world not having to go out in the cold works a treat too!
