The folks at Hobbycraft would love to see photos of Mumsnetters' DCs' best arts & crafts creations and hear about your DCs' favourite craft activities - so get those creative thinking caps on!

Here's what Hobbycraft say "As parents ourselves, we love discovering new ways to help the whole family enjoy some crafty fun, so whether you want to stick it, stamp it, make it or bake it, we’d love to see how you plan to make the most of the half term holidays!”

Please post a photo of one of your DC's creations and let us know why you love it.

If you don't have any photos to share, please tell us about your DCs' favourite craft activities. Are there any activities that your DCs love? Maybe you like painting together? Or perhaps your DC is a fan of using glitter as a decoration? Does your DC love to sculpt with modelling clay? Whatever your DCs' favourite activities are, Hobbycraft would love to hear about them.

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw, where five Mumsnetters will each receive a £100 Hobbycraft voucher.

For extra chances to win a £100 Hobbycraft voucher, why not enter Hobbycraft's competition on Mumsnet.

Please note your comments may be included on Hobbycraft's social media channels, and possibly elsewhere, so please only post if you're comfortable with this.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

We are really growing to love being creative. DS was reluctant for a while, but we now have a couple of drawers of arty stuff and every day he's asking to "do craftering".

My little boy and I love making things from old boxes, whether it's robots or cardboard box houses. We love making things from them.

This is DS1's decopatch pig. He has problems with his fine motor skills so decopatch it great as it doesn't require too much accuracy. He was engrossed in this for ages.

My dc have been making paper mache dogs each this week which they've loved, we've yet to paint them as they want to paint them white but cant seem to find anywhere selling white Confused and behind is an added extra, dc2's painting of himself. I think they've done well as they're only 3 and 6.

I adore crafting with my DD (2.5). My mum never did any craft with us and we just did the odd bit if colouring of painting. As a consequence I'm making up now with DD.

We love painting, painting our hands to make prints, sticking with glitter, tissue paper and bits I've cut out of magazines, salt dough and colouring in.

When we moved house one of my criteria was 'a large kitchen for craft'. Poor baby DS sits in his chair watching us knowing his day will come......!

It's been a big thing for DD to adjust to having a baby brother but still having out crafty afternoons really helps her. Two days after he was born we made a glitter and tissue paper picture of his name together.

My little man has only just really got into crafting and so far he's mad on glitter, glitter and more glitter.

My daughter is in reception and comes home with something she has created every single day. She has always been really creative and usually makes sculptural things. Her teachers have been wonderful at giving her the opportunity to express herself. This is her costume for the last day of Spring term. Just because.

My DD loves crafty things (she's 3 YO). She painted a ceramic dinosaur at nursery as part of their work on dinosaurs which she loved. She likes painting/drawing/sticking/cutting but won't necessarily spend a long time on the activities, so things like painting can take alot of time and effort to set up and clear away for the amount of time she spends on it. She likes play doh and will spend ages playing with that. She also loves decorating cakes and biscuits (if that counts as crafts). Magic painting is a huge hit in this house as DD loves it and it's quick and easy to set up/clear up and doesn't make much mess.

I sound a bit obsessed with mess there don't I Blush [misses the point entirely] . She likes making jewellery and threading beads/pasta onto string too.

DD aged three is currently obsessed with making paper butterflies. This was originally inspired by an episode of Cbeebies Melody where the mother and daughter made them. We use coloured paper, poster paint and either screwed up tissue paper or pieces of coloured foam to decorate the wings. The favourites get stuck onto spare balloon holders and get to fly around the garden / living room.

For less parent supervision magic painting or modelling clay are both popular in our house.

DD2 loves making and particularly drawing and painting. She fills in her school planners with intricately detailed cartoons, and has been drawing horses since she first rode on one when she was 6! She likes trying out a lot of different arts and crafts (we spend a lot of time and money in Hobbycraft!)

This is her first try at some paper cutting for a competition she entered a couple of years ago, when she was 12. (The title for the competition was 2012).

DD (then aged 5) made the quilt top on the sewing machine she got for her birthday. She's incredibly proud of it and it's still on her bed and being used, over a year later :)

I am not at all artistic myself and feel that I miss out when I see how much enjoyment my 'arty' friends get out of their hobbies. As such I really want my children to be confident to try anything and not feel worried about whether they can do it well or not. To encourage this we keep a well stocked craft drawer and every night after school they can be found drawing, colouring, glittering, cutting or sticking something, which I love to see as it seems to calm them down when they are overtired- they have been making button cards this week, and we have just 'blown out' some eggs when making scrambled egg for tea tonight to decorate the shells at the weekend so I do try a bit at least!

My son (6) is currently working painstakingly on a piece of tapestry with a rocket on that he found in the fantastic new Hobbycraft that has opened up in our town- I have a feeling this will be a great source of inspiration to me for new projects now and they have got a long list of things they want to save up for-a candle making kit apparently being my son's top choice!

One of our favourite places to go is the local pottery painting place- I took my son for the first time when he was three and he painted a dinosaur really carefully and has loved it ever since. My daughter (2) gets just as much enjoyment so we have a houseful of lovingly painted crockery and decorations and tend to present Grandparents with carefully decorated ornaments and teachers with personalised mugs at every event- it is an expensive hobby but they get a lot of pleasure from it! I have gathered up some of their favourite pieces for the pic.

Thanks

My dd is is crazy about creative activities whether it be drawing, painting, beading etc. At present she is very much into loom bands. Every weekend she spends hours making designs from youtube videos. I will post picture of her creations soon but here is a good cartoon picture that she did a few days ago.

On valentines Day this year I made these biscuits and box with my toddler (aged 28 months) for her great grandmother ('yiayia' means 'grandmother' in Greek) She helped with the baking part; stirring, licking spoon, licking spoon, stirring etc...and she helped me decorate the box by scrunching up plenty of tissue paper to stuff at the bottom of the box and she stuck on the letters...I hope she will enjoy crafting as much as I do!
