The folks at Hobbycraft would love to see photos of Mumsnetters' DCs' best arts & crafts creations and hear about your DCs' favourite craft activities - so get those creative thinking caps on!

My dd's favourite craft things to do are painting, drawing, colouring, playing with glitter glue, stickers and play dough. Painting is usually the favourite!!

DS (6) and I both enjoy doing decopatch together. It's such a simple thing to do but you can make some very pretty things. I find it very soothing!

DS has also just disovered rubber band looms and has made several bracelets over the weekend. This one is a bit trickier to grasp and we're relying on YouTube videos! Good fun though and the big craze at school at the moment.

DD and I enjoy learning new crafts together. These are a couple of fabric flowers I taught her to make recently. They are really simple and can be used to embellish headbands or clothing. DD is 6 and made these herself.

I am shamelessly marking place for ideas, and would implore those posting their beautiful pictures to include instructions for craft dunces!

This thread is well timed, DD came up with this Hirst-esque gem yesterday.

This is 5yo DD's multi-media piece titled 'Chicken'. Oil pastel, crayon and a chicken bone. "This is the heart, this is the lungs, this is the bone and this is the blood".

She just rattled it off like it was the most natural thing in the world . TBH she could do with a whole art & craft room just for her, she's taken over the dining room table .

My DS (almost 2) loves doing crafty things. I have posted some paintings and some animals he has made.

Can't seem to post a picture from iPad but last night dd (age 5) made a brilliant necklace with a laminated frozen picture of elsa and Anna hanging from it. The elsa side has blue and white sparkly beads and the Anna side had pink and green to match thier clothes.

Dd is always cutting and sticking and drawing and colouring and making. We go through rolls of Sellotape in this house! She made me a bunch of paper flowers for mothers day and even included a little pretend paper sachet of flower food!
My house seems to constantly have a sheen of glitter.

We made this car garage from toilet tubes and we had great fun making it. It took us two days to complete and we love it because we know how much effort and energy it took to make it. Plus its a great place to store all of our cars and aeroplanes. My sons love to paint and we take this outside too if the weather is good. I love this creation as it was the first time we could get outside and enjoy crafts this year and the bright colours.

We like to make and do too - this robot was inspired from rubbish and was so easy to do!

My daughter made this at school for Australia day, I love the colours and the cotton bud painting

my daughter and I love doing anything messy, I have attached a photo of a wreath we made at christmas using paints and her hands and feet. We glued them all around a paper plate with the middle cut out, it was so much fun. We also make homemade playdough and love making cards together.

My youngest dd (5) tends to just draw and colour at the moment, her twin sisters (aged 10) enjoy most crafts but particularly drawing and sewing. They've even designed and made their own felt characters including a range of fruit and a Minion. The card was made by all three of them for Mother's Day this year.

DD2's baking. It's a caffeine molecule apparently. Buttercream with rolled icing discs and letters. Chocolate finger 'bonds'

Naughty Nana's DIY card kit for kids.

I apply the backing paper and the greetings, then put sticky pads on all the other bits. 3yr old very happy to peel off the backing paper and stick them on, wherever. If anything, I should have made more, lots more. Expect something similar in a craft shop near you next Christmas.

My 5 year old Grandson loves to draw and he loves using the big felt tip pack. His rate of work is phenomenal, he can produce a dozen drawings in 20 minutes.

My LOs love anything crafty! They enjoy drawing, painting, stamping, making cards, masks, pasta necklaces, numerous crazy creations, you name it! The activity du jour is good old play doh modelling. Here is my 3 yr olds scurvy pirate captain bear, complete with parrot, hook and peg leg!! :)

That is such a good idea Lindsey, I am stealing that for this christmas!

My middle DD just loves art and craft. She recently made an animal enclosure from and old tissue box, paints, polystyrene and wool, and a hot air balloon from a balloon and plaster or paris bandages. We are mid basket making for under the balloon at the moment. Here is one of her charcoal drawings.
