The folks at Hobbycraft would love to see photos of Mumsnetters' DCs' best arts & crafts creations and hear about your DCs' favourite craft activities - so get those creative thinking caps on!

Here's what Hobbycraft say "As parents ourselves, we love discovering new ways to help the whole family enjoy some crafty fun, so whether you want to stick it, stamp it, make it or bake it, we’d love to see how you plan to make the most of the half term holidays!”

Please post a photo of one of your DC's creations and let us know why you love it.

If you don't have any photos to share, please tell us about your DCs' favourite craft activities. Are there any activities that your DCs love? Maybe you like painting together? Or perhaps your DC is a fan of using glitter as a decoration? Does your DC love to sculpt with modelling clay? Whatever your DCs' favourite activities are, Hobbycraft would love to hear about them.

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw, where five Mumsnetters will each receive a £100 Hobbycraft voucher.

For extra chances to win a £100 Hobbycraft voucher, why not enter Hobbycraft's competition on Mumsnet.

Please note your comments may be included on Hobbycraft's social media channels, and possibly elsewhere, so please only post if you're comfortable with this.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

My creative daughter made this chair using cardboard boxes with paper and wool to decorate. She refuses to allow me to throw anything away as she can see potential in everything!

DS (4) made this house out of shoeboxes last half term - he painted it all, and decorated it with pictures cut out of the argos catalogue :o

He likes painting - he painted a wall in the garden the other day, with blue and glitter paint, and is thrilled with his work!

DD is only 23 months, so her 'art' is more abstract at the moment - she scribbles a lot of circles and gives them features, then tells us they are babies, and enjoys playing with playdough, but she isn't at the stage where she can craft much without eating it...

My daughter loves cutting and sticking. She made a foam picture this morning then added detail with pens and paint. I thought it was fab Smile

DanielMummy · 25/05/2014 22:58

Both my boys favourite craft activity is to draw and cut out angry birds or star wars characters. They then decorate boxes etc with these or make games with them.

1033MICHELLE · 26/05/2014 14:26

My little boy loves Play doh. He plays with it every day making different shapes with the cutters etc. He also likes using scissors to cut up paper and stick to make patterns.

moley84 · 26/05/2014 20:28

My kids love getting arty. Whether its creative egg ideas at easter ( eggs factor with Susan boiled), clay dinosaurs or cute cards.

Sorry no pic... But DS 20 months likes drawing with crayons or felt tips. His art work usually consists of colourful splodges which he says is mummy & daddy!

Hoogally · 28/05/2014 18:55

To be honest, DS (5) most enjoys a bit of uninterrupted junk modelling.

Give him a pile of boxes, trays and lids, glue stick and sticky tale and he is in heaven.

All the better if there is paint too but it's not a necessity.

mellicauli · 28/05/2014 21:16

Love this one created by DS (4). It's like the pirate is waving hello. And he looks so naughty..just like DS..

My baby girl loves potato printing. It is great that little ones can do things like sponge printing or potato painting from a very young age.

My eldest loves to get the paints out and just 'experiment' with painting. Here he is trying wetting the paper first and also experimenting with adding salt onto the wet painting to make it have different effects. He used to adore clay modelling as his favourite activity for years and years so it is great to see him doing different arts and crafts now.

We do quite a lot of crafts, my fave 'tool' is my glue gun, the older madthings can use it with supervision.

They love painting and glue and glitter and also making stuff with felt and pipe cleaners, basically anything they can get their hands on!

Air dry clay is great and easy to use.

The only craft I don't like as much is paper mache as it takes so long to dry!

chocogirl77 · 29/05/2014 02:34

My Dd1 & Dd2 both love junk modelling. We used the raffia and some felt around some craft sticks to make a scarecrow, all items bought from hobbycraft.

Jinty64 · 29/05/2014 07:11

This is Ds3 getting stuck in (literally) to one of his "big craft projects".
He is apparently making a television. He spends a huge amount of time creating a mess "projects".

My son loves making cards for the family for any occasion, Christmas, birthday, Easter. He loves getting out the glue and the glitter. We keep a nice supply in the house so if he is feeling creative he can just have a go!
