The time has come for the insight team at MNHQ to do our annual round up of the year, to plead for those of you not yet on our panel to sign up and to thank you all for taking part in some amazing projects this year!

(In case you don't know insight covers surveys, product events, product tests and sponsored threads on MN, as well as bloggers reviews, and reviewers recruitment)

Let us know what you think on this thread and you could win another prize!

We've got the following to give away....

~ A George Foreman entertaining 10 portion grill & griddle worth £69.99

~ £100 to spend on Method products for a shiny and squeaky clean-up in your home

~ Four sharing packs of Magnum chocolates worth £24 each.

All details are here: www.mumsnet.com/surveys/insight-annual-roundup-2013

In 2013 we have given away over £38,000 worth of prizes in the form of vouchers, books, beauty products, hampers and technology.

You have tested over £75,000 worth of products - including thoroughly testing the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active, busting bugs with Lyclear and getting 'touched-up' clean with Mr Muscle!
We've gone all creative with food and leftovers with some amazing creations for Cadbury Pebbles, cooked once/ eaten twice with Colman's and even tried out pans for Tesco and Fissler

We've given hundreds of you a sneak preview of top kids movies: Cloudy2 and Despicable Me 2

On cars - MNers have been busy trying out the Toyota Verso, Toyota Auris hybrid and Toyota RAV4 - check out the videos here

And you've been sharing tips, experiences and comments on sponsored threads on everything from garden make-overs for B&Q, summer feet prep for Clarks, gluten free baking with Mrs Crimble to hot drinks for Tassimo Smile

What have you enjoyed taking part in this year? Or appreciated reading about? What would you like us to product test next year?

Most of the product tests are on site but we also do a lot of projects with our lovely research panel, as well as often giving them the heads up about the latest things and chances to win on site. If you are not yet on our panel please see this link for more info or to sign up. You can select how often you get emailed and you can leave at any time if it's not for you.

So to win one of the lovely prizes please do one of the following:

~ Post on the thread any suggestions for product tests etc you'd like to see next year (no promises but we can try!)
~ Join the panel

Lastly - it's with much sadness that we report KatieBMumsnet is sadly off to pastures new at the end of the year Sad.

Thanks as ever for your time and feedback - all very much welcome Xmas Grin

I love everything but then again Im easily pleased Xmas Wink

Enjoyed trialing the frozen vegetable and loved that they came with dry ice! Xmas Grin

I loved (probably a little too much) trialing the MrMuscle.

I was very grateful for being chosen for the B&Q unloved Gardens project but it was hard work! Although I now wish I'd have bought a shed so we could lock KatieB in it so she would have to stay. Xmas Wink

Suggestions for new things: chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate. To be honest you usually have great opportunities for us to get involved in so - keep up the good work.

Hope you all have a Merry Christmas. Xmas Smile

DoctorGilbertson · 19/12/2013 18:51

We liked the pebbles. And enjoyed cooking them. This is my first year doing this kind of stuff, so a nice thing to do.

Surveys were OK. I quite like doing them and wait for the day when I win a prize.

Fantasy product tests - a brompton bike?

oooh dishwasher tablets. I would like to test a range of dishwasher tablets and see if they make any difference because I do wonder but usually just go for the cheapest one.

I thought that the wavey hand flora thing was a good idea but my laptop doesn't have a battery so I wouldn't use it for this - but it is a good idea (if you are listening!)

shoe organisers. I would like to test some creative shoe storage solutions.

ChaffinchOfDoom · 19/12/2013 18:53

ah lovely mumsnet Xmas Grin

enjoy the product tests when you have large numbers to be tested so basically everyone who wants it will get it..

love the competitions and feedback voucher prize draws

love the webchats - the chefs are good, but nothing can top Idris Elba!!
would like to hear webchat from - Nigella would be the dream... loved the questions to the physiotherapists - their answers were amazing

I would like somewhere to store my threads in my own page - like my physio answer rather than have them clutter up my watched threads or have to search for them

finding the page number thing confusing, some threads if you come to them late I can't make head nor tail of where they started

like the mixture of support, info and bonkersness. well done y'all

I love testing stuff and reading what others think too. Giving my opinion on things here and on surveys is about the only time anybody listens to me! So far I have tested Method washing liquid, Aveda Invati hair system and Mr Muscle kitchen cleaner. Have never won anything though :(

~ Post on the thread any suggestions for product tests etc you'd like to see next year (no promises but we can try!)
My DCs are older so I like the cleaning, cooking and pampering ones. I'm at the age where I could do with testing some miracle skincare! I would not do anything that needed videoing (well, not before the miracle skincare anyway!) but would happily attend events within easy travelling distance (NW England)

Mignonette · 19/12/2013 19:13

I only got selected to review Flora and whilst s freebie is always welcome, you cant' drive a tub of Flora or go on holiday in it Xmas Grin.

I would like to see more road tests of clothes- how about a cashmere comparison with sweaters from different ranges being worn for a month or more (think longitudinal).

More beauty and body stuff would be nice and as a treat, psychologically rather lovely to be asked to test.

Obviously holidays would be rather nice- I am very flexible and available pretty much any time to review holidays in the Caribbean...Xmas Grin.

My kids are grown so I obviously don't fit demographically although we can all participate in the reviewing of alcohol. Xmas Grin

best wishes to departing KatieB

SandyDilbert · 19/12/2013 19:44

I tested the Schwartz packets and thought they were great.

I would be happy to test any products, I guess food and cleaning products are the most useful. I agree, variety of tests offered is great.

AlaskaNebraska · 19/12/2013 19:44

stick around and you get mAsses - two hoovers, a holiday etc

NS · 19/12/2013 19:50
  1. Got a chance to review 'Lyclear'. Enjoyed the surveys
  2. Suggestions for 2014 - healthy veggie snacks, smart TVs, heated airers, robot vacuum cleaners for hard floors, frozen yogurt, print your pictures on canvas, Segway...
Thank you!
DigOfTheChristmasTreeStump · 19/12/2013 20:00

Thank you for all the offers this year.

I would love to testdrive cars, please. Or gadgets.

And I have loved the product test threads.

Mouseface · 19/12/2013 20:16

I think I forgot to say that I am happy to complete EVERY survey that I'm eligible for and also that I'm happy to test ANY products that you need testing. Xmas Grin

Erm, thanks lovely MNHQ

Xmas Grin
MaccaPaccaismyNemesis · 19/12/2013 20:16

Hi,

I've really enjoyed being on the panel this year, thank you for the opportunities.

My favourite test has been, a bit bizarrely, the Cif cream- I discovered how useful it was and my oven is nice and shiny again!

I would like more toy and technology tests, I love a bit of kitchen gadgetry, and have either missed it or not seen any?

Finally, thanks to MN for keeping me entertained, informed and prone to saying 'I was on Mumsnet, and they said I should buy this....!'

Mignonette · 19/12/2013 20:35

I'll happily share the magnum chocolates with any of you Flowers

lottietiger · 19/12/2013 20:36

I also liked the Red Cross app as I never would have found it on my own. I also enjoyed looking at the b&q ideas/photos and reading about others trials like the samsung phone.
I got s

lottietiger · 19/12/2013 20:40

Sorry pressed wrong button! I got some food items to try liked the hellman's which were fun too do.
Is love to test some days out, like the national trust and children's clothes or shoes. For me, electrical appliance or skin care would be great :) fingers crossed for next year!
Good luck Katie

RunningKatie · 19/12/2013 20:51

I am being rubbish at keeping up with surveys at the moment, must try harder next year.

I would have loved to have been selected for the Tassimo trial but sadly not!

FMJ1000 · 19/12/2013 21:08

I haven't tested anything this year despite signing up for many of them

Never mind however as I am off to Frankfurt in January for Pampers! I also attended the Barclays brainstorm, that I found very interesting and reassuring that there are companies out there that give a damn about customers' opinions.

I love testing and will continue to put myself forward, but always check out the threads for people's opinions before buying anything. I find the reviews honest, helpful and entertaining.

Looking forward to another MN year.

WingDefence · 19/12/2013 21:09

I best liked testing the dried recipe mixes. I'd definitely like more food-related trials as they get me out of a rut because I have to try different food if MN have asked Xmas Grin so the whole family benefits.

In a dream world though I'd be picked to test some snazzy new games console or toy range for my DCs!

Thanks and Merry Xmas Xmas Smile

AngelDog · 19/12/2013 21:19

I don't think I was selected for any of the product tests. Would love to test anything non-food related next year (we have lots of allergies & intolerances so food things are difficult).

threepiecesuite · 19/12/2013 21:41

I love this part of Mumsnet. I always read all of the reviews and enjoy the depth in which MNers write, with practical feedback and forthright criticism. I know the manufacturers find it useful, but I do just as much!

This year, I was picked to test the Asda shopping app and ended up winning a £200 Asda voucher so I was absolutely delighted. It meant we could have a party for my DD's birthday for the first time.
I entered and really wanted to be chosen for the B&Q unloved rooms task. We weren't chosen but the ideas to come out of the feedback
thread inspired me to decorate the room regardless so that was great.
I contributed to the Family Friendly awards by reviewing BT's policies (didn't get my Amazon voucher in the end though?).

I do enjoy the food and drink product tests as the whole family can join in. Also, I like going to places armed with secret spying questions, love the idea of being on a secret mission (appreciate that I need to get out more)! I have a DD coming up to school age so testing uniforms/packed lunch stuff would be super.

Thinking back, I was chosen for lots over the previous couple of years (M&S Shapewear, talking Winnie the Pooh, chocolate porridge, Fairy...to name a few!) but I suppose that's the popularity of Mumsnet these days.

Very best wishes to KatieBMumsnet in your new venture.

fuzzpig · 19/12/2013 21:48

KatieB you will be missed :( best of luck in pastures new!

I've really enjoyed the product tests this year. My favourite was the Cadbury pebbles! Really fun coming up with the ideas for the cakes and was a fun activity to do with my DD (don't normally do baking and that sort of thing - stresses me out too much! Blush I was quite pleased with the result too.

I was also very very lucky to get to attend both preview screenings, Despicable Me 2 and Cloudy with a chance of meatballs 2. They were such fun and a great day out for me, my 6yo DD and my 15yo DSDs.

Thank you MN :o

RomulanBattleBagel · 19/12/2013 21:49

Oh and as for the next year, I'd love to be able to test any new gluten free products as my DH and DSD are coeliacs. :)

RomulanBattleBagel · 19/12/2013 21:49

Gah, namechange fail

TheOnlySevenSleighbells · 19/12/2013 22:50

I'd love to try out more health and beauty products, plus more essential kitchen products next year.

This year I've enjoyed the B&Q sponsored discussions, trialling the brilliant Mr Muscle touch-up cleaner and still love my fantastic Humax freesat+ box Xmas Grin

CelticPromise · 19/12/2013 23:02

Here's a random comment... I'd like an opportunity to put prizes back in the pot or pass them on. I won the Cross Country rail prize (family tickets up to £500) but I don't live near anywhere on the network so I couldn't use it. I don't know if it's too late now but if you're interested feel free to PM me and I'll look into it!

MissMirandalovesSunshine · 19/12/2013 23:07

I haven't tested anything yet, but have only just signed up so that's understandable.

I'd love to try style and beauty products and food.
