The team at TASSIMO would like to know about Mumsnetters favourite hot drinks.

Heres what TASSIMO have to say: "TASSIMO has all your favourite drinks from the brands you love such as Costa, Cadbury, Kenco, Twinings, Milka, Carte Noire and Suchard. With more than 35 different drinks for you to choose from, including classic Cappuccino, Latte Macchiato, Espresso, Hot Chocolate and Tea, yours will be ready at the push of a button. Its as easy as one, two, tea."

So, what are your favourite hot drinks? Do you like to start your day with a latte or cappuccino? Maybe you drink gallons of tea each day? Or do you keep it very simple with the odd espresso?

Are there any coffee shop drinks you wish you could make at home? Perhaps a Latte Macchiato Caramel? Grin Or maybe a hot chocolate topped with marshmallows? Have you ever tried to recreate these at home? Or do you consider them to be an occasional treat? If you're a tea drinker, do you like to stick to your favourite brew or try new varieties?

Whatever your hot drink of choice is, TASSIMO would love to hear about it.

Theyd also love to know whether you have a TASSIMO or whether it has made it onto your wish list. If you have a TASSIMO, tell us what you love about it! Feel free to share any of your TASSIMO recipes from your repertoire.

Everyone who adds their comments to this thread will be entered into a prize draw to win a TASSIMO T20 and 2 packs of T DISCs worth £109.

Please note your comments may be included on TASSIMO's social media channels, and possibly elsewhere, so please only post if you're comfortable with this.

Thanks and good luck,

MNHQ

My ultimate indulgence is a half shot latte after doing the school run in the morning or after the kids go to bed.

When I am sick , I like a hot cup of traditional breakfast tea.

When I was pregnant, I was in constant pursuit of a decaf latte that didn't taste processed or chemical. So any sort of great tasting milky decaf coffee would be great.

starfishmummy · 04/10/2013 17:57

I am a coffee addict. Mostly drink instant at home bit occasionally break out the stove top espresso maker and the milk whizzer to do a latte.

I also like a cuppa and would pack something like an assam or English breakfast tea.

DS is following suit and loves a decaffeinated "frothy" coffee.

A hot drink is perfect at any time of the day for me, it's how I give myself a little treat. I enjoy at cup of tea, as long as it's a nice strong cup with just a splash of coffee ( builders tea as my husband calls it)
My main passion is coffee, I cannot function on a morning without a mug of strong black coffee. I have to make do with instant because I don't have time to make up a pot of real coffee, however a Tassimo machine would solve that problem Grin

After dinner on a weekend I sometimes ( who an I kidding, sometimes....it's every weekend, without fail!) treat myself to a coffee with a splash of brandy and some milk which I have frothed up myself. It's a delicious drink, friends and family often ask me for one of my 'special' coffees.

I love to go out for a coffee and slice of cake with my two teen girls but it's a pricey outing these days so the thought of having a machine at home which would enable me to recreate the cafe experience sounds wonderful! You never know, maybe my two girls would be inspired to make me a hot drink, it's hard to convince them that it's fun to put the kettle on but asking them to create a beverage using the Tassimo might just tempt them Brew Brew

Mostly drink tea, especially in the morning and stop at tea time to try to help my sleep! It's always best made fresh. My other favourite in the colder months is a warming hot chocolate or cocoa after being out walking the dog in the woods. Just like it plain and simple really, milk and cocoa powder and has to be gluten free which some brands can't guarantee.

Fuzzysnout · 04/10/2013 19:02

Just a lovely black filter coffee for me. Can't beat it, though I do like green or herbal teas as well. Always with a nice cake though - a lovely chocolate slice of some kind always goes down well.

I don't have a Tassimo but it is on my wish list. For a winter's drink you can't beat mulled wine - can you make that into a special coffee?

VeryStressedMum · 04/10/2013 19:02

I only drink coffee I love the stuff. I have the Dolce Gusto coffee machine I love the Americano and espresso coffees. I've never tried the Tassimo.. I wonder if it's as good...

wheretoyougonow · 04/10/2013 19:17

The family favourite is hot chocolate, Squirty cream and marshmallows. The best drink ever after taking the dog for a long walk in the winter.

apatchylass · 04/10/2013 19:33

Freshly brewed coffee with whisked up hot semi-skimmed milk is the best hot drink. It's best at home as the strength and balance is just right, but some good cafes do an Americano with hot milk that is almost as goo.

We bought DS1 some flavoured syrups from Costa for a stocking filler last year. He loves hot milk with gingerbread syrup, sprinkled with cinnamon. really spicy and Christmassy.

RainierWolfcastle · 04/10/2013 19:35

i used to like Mandelmilch in Germany - frothed up warm milk with a glug of amaretto.
delicious

FrillyMillylovesPollosHermanos · 04/10/2013 19:35

On a normal day I drink mostly Yorkshire tea. Sometimes I have herbal teas like peppermint when I'm on a health kick. I do enjoy sweet milky coffees like caramel latte or the seasonal special ones at coffee shops like gingerbread. I don't have a gassing but I would really love one. Been hinting at DH for Xmas.

pickles184 · 04/10/2013 19:43

My favourite's when out would be mocha or latte (especially with cinnamon). At home mostly strong milky instant. I'd love a Tassimo, but can't really justify the expense when I'm the only coffee drinker.

Yawner247 · 04/10/2013 19:45

A lovely Assam tea or a tasty hazelnut latte or a yummy scrummy hot choc with cream and marshmallows

Justyou · 04/10/2013 20:13

Tea for me, can't even think about the day ahead until I ve had my morning brew, especially as little one thinks 5.30 is morning pfff ! Mr just you needs at least 2 coffees b4 he resembles a human ( out of a mr grumpy cup - how apt ) dd1 joins me for tea n loves that at 11 she is now able to make them too !! ( not as much as we love it )
Dd2 it's gotta b hot choc with squirty cream, marshmallows and choc sprinkles and it's a dad special that I can't make like him apparently.
Dd3 smoothie woothie as she calls it
I would love at tassimo but Santa keeps forgetting !

TeaAndCakeOrDeath · 04/10/2013 20:17

Horlicks am a pensioner inside

Or hot chocolate with a slug of malibu (classy me!)

Arbuthnot · 04/10/2013 20:29

My friend has a Tassimo and I love going to visit it (and her Wink).

I drink espresso until 8am and then switch to whatever herbal tea falls out of the cupboard first.

As a winter treat I like Whittards Chili Hot Chocolate with gingerbread syrup. It is lovely!

ChippingInNeedsSleepAndCoffee · 04/10/2013 20:32

My favourite is a strong coffee with Baileys :)

My 'everday' drink is a latte. I have a Philips Senseo, but I would love to replace it with a Tassimo as I would like to be able to make hot chocolate, tea etc with it, as well as a much greater variety of coffee flavours.

Would shameless begging help?? Grin

ladygoingGaga · 04/10/2013 21:13

I am predominantly a tea drinker, but I'm yet to discover a machine that will do it justice!

I treat myself to a coffee mid morning at work, never tried a machine at home, as it is a luxury and I thought it was an expensive way of doing it?

I am a bit of a coffee beginner, I go into coffee shops and just ask for an ordinary coffee, need to experiment!

IKnewHouseworkWasDangerous · 04/10/2013 22:07

A good, really good, hot, strong coffee can feel like a cuddle from the inside. And then, when that is finnished the caffene gets you through the next couple of hours. A must have 4pm drink! Keeps you going through the last bit of work, the journey home and the start of the home shift.

timidviper · 04/10/2013 22:14

So, what are your favourite hot drinks?
I love a good cup of tea, needs to be full flavoured like Twinings English Breakfast or Yorkshire tea but I have not found a decaff tea that tastes good so often have herbal or fruit teas late in the day. I do also love a black americano when the fancy takes me. Oddly, although I have a sweet tooth and I take milk in tea, coffee has to be black for me.

Do you like to start your day with a latte or cappuccino? Maybe you drink gallons of tea each day? Or do you keep it very simple with the odd espresso?
I alway start my day with a good cup of tea, there is nothing like it.

Are there any coffee shop drinks you wish you could make at home? Perhaps a Latte Macchiato Caramel? Or maybe a hot chocolate topped with marshmallows? Have you ever tried to recreate these at home? Or do you consider them to be an occasional treat? If you're a tea drinker, do you like to stick to your favourite brew or try new varieties?
As I like coffee black and unsweetened it is not much of a challenge but it would be nice to make good hot chocolate and flavoured varieties of it for family and friends. I always think that sounds a fantastic thing to have in the winter

Do you have a TASSIMO or whether it has made it onto your wish list?
I had one for years and loved it as it has a far wider of drinks available than other machines. I loved the herbal and fruit teas and my DDs favourite drink of all is peppermint tea. Sadly, after years of faithful service, it sprung a leak and I would love another!

MegBusset · 04/10/2013 22:19

I can't have caffeine any more as it gives me migraines :( I drink decaf coffee (not decaf tea 'cause it's rank) and herbal tea, Twinings do really nice ones (cherry and cinnamon is my favourite).

It's really hard to get a decent decaf cappuccino when out and about. Caffe Nero's are by far the best.

MegBusset · 04/10/2013 22:20

Oh and Green & Blacks hot chocolate. YUM

HazeltheMcWitch · 04/10/2013 22:35

My favourite favourite is hot buttered rum. But that might not be the sort of drink you meant.
In which case - my favourite is my first - much needed - coffee of the day. I don't have a swanky machine at home unfortunately - it's instant or cafetiere for me.

ctrlaltdel · 04/10/2013 23:46

I drink loads of tea at home but definitely enjoy the vanilla and caramel lattes/macchiatos when out at coffee shops. I also have a real soft spot for all the mulled drinks that come out around Christmas time (including tea, apple juice, cider and wine)

I don't have a Tassimo machine at home but my parents have one and I always think it makes very pretty coffees!

stephgr · 05/10/2013 03:12

I love coffee and during the day I like it really strong especially double espressos but in the evenings I prefer sweeter tastes so I like the caramel macchiatos and café mochas although I can't make them at home. I like hot chocolate with whipped cream at weekends.
I don't have a Tassimo but one of my friends has recently got one and I'm quite smitten so would love to have one!

insertwittyusernamehereplease · 05/10/2013 03:44

I love my Tassimo! The milka not chocolate is so good, but I can't get hold of it in Canada Confused the earl grey is lovely too. I originally bought a keurig, but I wasn't impressed so returned it.
