The team at TASSIMO would like to know about Mumsnetters favourite hot drinks.

Heres what TASSIMO have to say: "TASSIMO has all your favourite drinks from the brands you love such as Costa, Cadbury, Kenco, Twinings, Milka, Carte Noire and Suchard. With more than 35 different drinks for you to choose from, including classic Cappuccino, Latte Macchiato, Espresso, Hot Chocolate and Tea, yours will be ready at the push of a button. Its as easy as one, two, tea."

So, what are your favourite hot drinks? Do you like to start your day with a latte or cappuccino? Maybe you drink gallons of tea each day? Or do you keep it very simple with the odd espresso?

Are there any coffee shop drinks you wish you could make at home? Perhaps a Latte Macchiato Caramel? Grin Or maybe a hot chocolate topped with marshmallows? Have you ever tried to recreate these at home? Or do you consider them to be an occasional treat? If you're a tea drinker, do you like to stick to your favourite brew or try new varieties?

Whatever your hot drink of choice is, TASSIMO would love to hear about it.

Theyd also love to know whether you have a TASSIMO or whether it has made it onto your wish list. If you have a TASSIMO, tell us what you love about it! Feel free to share any of your TASSIMO recipes from your repertoire.

Everyone who adds their comments to this thread will be entered into a prize draw to win a TASSIMO T20 and 2 packs of T DISCs worth £109.

Please note your comments may be included on TASSIMO's social media channels, and possibly elsewhere, so please only post if you're comfortable with this.

Thanks and good luck,

MNHQ

It has to be an espresso with a dash of hot water first thing in the morning. Illy. I generally drink one while the next one is brewing. I love my espresso maker.

Later in the day, it needs to be tea - english breakfast with milk.

Instant coffee is yukky.

kateandme · 03/10/2013 23:41

ok if calories werent an issue id have hot chocolate.but ive never been able to recreate the best hot chocolates ive had.in french patisseries,or up norwegain ski slopes.but also food has memorys that make them taste different where you have them.

caramel latte from starbucks.yum.

overall im a tea drinker.id love to be able to have one of your machines becasue it would mean a good coffee, but they are to much money for me.
my tea brand has been the same since i was able to get it cheaer at costco.

SevenOnwardsAndUpwards · 04/10/2013 00:16

I love a Tassimo Costa americano first thing in the morning. I'd really love to be able to make a hazelnut latte at home though :)
Also I think Tassimo should do a decaf coffee T disk available in the UK as I had to limit myself to only one cup a day during pregnancy, it seems you can buy decaf on the continent but not here.

speedyboots · 04/10/2013 01:09

I love filter coffee with milk in the morning and then strong tea with milk throughout the day.
My favourite coffee to have out is a cortado but I'm not sure what they are like in the UK - I've only had them in Spain. I would always choose coffee over tea when I go out as it's hard to make such delicious coffee at home. And I think home-brewed tea is usually nicer.
Favourite indulgent drink - hot chocolate with kahlua. Mmmm.

finzean · 04/10/2013 08:34

I drink earl grey mostly but am partial to a lovely hot chocolate with all the extras too as a treat! hoping to get one of your machines as a Christmas gift ...left lots of hints!

Imflabulous · 04/10/2013 12:49

Instant coffee every day, sweet tea when unwell or Hung over and latte with a shot of whatever syrup takes my fancy or a mocha......now wishes I was near a star bucks!

NorkyButNice · 04/10/2013 12:51

I am drinking lots of herbal tea at the moment, especially peppermint and lemon zest.

We have a single cup boil kettle but would love to try a coffee machine!

StickyFloor · 04/10/2013 12:59

I absolutely love a hot chocolate from Costa or Thorntons as a treat, without whipped cream but with lots of marshmallows. I eat the melted goo off the top with a spoon before drinking the choc! I have recreated this at home, the marshmallows worked well but homemade hot chocolate is never as thick and creamy as shop bought.

Generally I love to drink a cappuccino from Costa or Waitrose most morning, I love the creamy top. At home I have a milk frother but I can't get the creaminess right.

I have never had a coffee maker as I am not sure if they are really likely to give me the shop bought richness that I love.

Bumpstarter · 04/10/2013 13:10

Some great ideas on here!

I like dark hot chocolate.... 2 teaspoons cocoa, 1/2 teaspoon sugar, and hot water.... Gives me a chocolate fix without so many calories.

Bumpstarter · 04/10/2013 13:11

Sticky floor, do you think it is the type of milk they use? I wonder if UHT milk gives a creamier result?

LaVitaBellissima · 04/10/2013 13:14

Hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows is a rare treat but I mostly drink tea, English breakfast, Earl Grey or peppermint depending on my mood.
My friend has a a Tassimo and we use the pods and make ice coffee in the summer, sweeten the coffee, pour over ice and add old milk, lovely!

asuwere · 04/10/2013 13:16

I don't drink tea or coffee but I do enjoy a hot squash every morning :)
DH is a tea drinker mainly but he does love getting a cappuccino when out.
DC love hot chocolate, it does have to have marshmallow on top though otherwise they complain.

derektheladyhamster · 04/10/2013 13:22

I'm a tea drinker at home as I find I struggle to make a coffee as nice as a costa latte! I'm a conservative latte drinker when out, I'd love to try something different but my visits to coffee shops are very few and far between (I can't justify the cost) so I stick to something I know I like.

I also love a thornton's hot chocolate to warm me up in the winter, and when I'm feeling a little under the weather a milky chocolate ovaltine perks me up!

ArtemisCake · 04/10/2013 13:26

Mostly tea, with a cappuccino or gingerbread latte at a coffee shop. I would drink more coffee if I had a machine at home Wink

nannynick · 04/10/2013 13:27

Gingerbread Latte.
Have tried making at home using Ginger cordial, little caramel, double expresso and steamed milk. Not quite the same but getting close.
Steaming milk I find a faff, must get a proper machine not use the microwave and milk frother stirer thingy.

ILikeToClean · 04/10/2013 13:38

I am a big tea drinker, can't start the day without a huge mug and I mainly drink tea during the day. We have a Tassimo and I love it, we mainly have the Cafe Crema coffee which is lovely. DH is not a tea or plain coffee drinker but will have one of those at the weekend. The hot chocolate is lovely too, but quite a pricey way to have hot chocolate, but I always put marshmallows in! When out I always have a latte.

defineme · 04/10/2013 14:06

black filter coffee is my drink of choice at home or if I'm trying to cut back on caffeine Pukka 3 ginger tea is fabulous. As I like no milk, no sugar and no frothy nonsense- I find coffee shops much of a muchness-Americanos are very similar.

Fillybuster · 04/10/2013 14:53

My favourite hot drink ever would be the masala chai you can buy on the street and on rail journeys right across India. We spent 4 months travelling across the north of the country by train and whenever the train stopped, the chai sellers would come up to the windows and pass through little cups of chai in disposable rapid-fired red clay cups. The scent of cloves, cinnamon, allspice, cardamon and ginger was amazing....

In second place: fresh ground black coffee :) But it's definitely a poor second!

skyeskyeskye · 04/10/2013 15:12

I love hot chocolate, with cream, marshmallows, the full works. A cafe I used to go to puts Smarties, Flake, Maltesers and lovely things on the top. It's a meal in itself :)

If I make it at home, I just chuck a few marshmallows on the top, its not the same :(

Coffee wise, I like milky sweet coffee, so tend to stick with Latte.

I cannot stand tea.

cather · 04/10/2013 15:51

I don't really drink hot drinks but if I do I tend to drink hot Ribena or hot Vimto.

We haven't got a Tassimo but I know my husband would love one!

flier · 04/10/2013 16:03

My two favourites are Caramel Macchiato and mint latte. Neither of which I would attempt to make at home, although with a tassimo, I'm sure I could.

eatriskier · 04/10/2013 16:07

I love the Costa coffee range, I think the new caramel latte is my favourite. Which is odd as I don't particularly like a caramel latte instore! I wish there was a bit more in store availability of some of the other varieties. There's a lot of different coffee types but not much tea and the only chocolate seems to be cadburys. A tie in with some of the christmas coffees would be great - I love the gingerbread varieties that come out during the festive season.

MakeTeaNotWar · 04/10/2013 16:22

I do drink gallons of tea, a hot chocolate in front of the TV and the odd coffee

fanoftheinvisibleman · 04/10/2013 16:28

I am not a coffee drinker, dh does drink it though.

I have the odd cup of tea but I am partial to a nice milky hot chocolate, especially at bedtime.

poppy1973 · 04/10/2013 16:51

I love having a latte first thing in the morning - got hooked on Costa latte and now enjoy this every Saturday morning doing the swimming run.

I then love a nice hot chocolate in the afternoon with mint syrup and cream. Again tried one at christmas time in Costa and have loved ever since.

Would love to win a tassimo maker, as I don't have one at home and would love to save some money by not having to buy drinks out anymore.
