Whole Earth has asked us to find out Mumsnetters' favourite peanut butter related snacks.

Here's what Whole Earth has to say, "Mums buy Whole Earth peanut butter because they know it's naturally delicious. Made with 97% peanuts, no added sugar and loaded with energy Mums know that choosing Whole Earth peanut butter is a great way to fuel their families throughout the day. It is also a perfect ingredient for baking crunchy peanut butter cookies - a delicious after school treat."

Do you use peanut butter to create homemade snacks for you or your DCs? What about peanut butter popcorn or peanut butter granola bars? Or perhaps you just use it to dip celery or carrot sticks into? However you snack with peanut butter we'd love to know.

Everyone who adds their feedback or uploads a photo of their snack will be entered into a prize draw to win a £150 voucher for a supermarket of their choice.

Many thanks and good luck,

MNHQ

This sounds bonkers but sweet potato baked in peanut butter is delish!

Aethelfleda · 02/10/2013 18:05

Peanut butter and banana toasties. Apparently Elvis liked them deep fried. I make mine in a George Foreman grill.

Whole earth is a great brand, their peanut butter doesn't have that palm-oily-greasy feel you find with the cheap versions. Crunchy every time!

LaTrucha · 02/10/2013 18:09

On cream crackers with loads of butter. I used to stand eating one after another in my dDad's house. He got fed up with me eating all his peanut butter, but I couldn't stop. Yum!

DoItTooJulia · 02/10/2013 18:31

Baby ds adores smooth whole earth peanut butter spread on 50/50 bread with grated apple on top. So do I!

WowOoo · 02/10/2013 18:36

Satay chicken made with lots of peanut butter is very moreish.

I like doing peanut butter biscuits. I have a basic biscuit recipe which I add nuts and /or peanut butter to.

Best of all, peanut butter on toast - so simple and easy and very satisfying.

Mumzy · 02/10/2013 18:56

Teaspoons of peanut butter rolled in crushed maltesers and frozen prior to snacking with tall glass of milk

Tyranasaurus · 02/10/2013 19:03

On apple flavoured rice cracker

CharlotteBronteSaurus · 02/10/2013 19:15

we love peanut butter and banana milkshakes - peanut butter, milk, vanilla ice cream and a banana whizzed up in a blender.

or peanut butter and white chocolate blondies. sort of negates the supposed health benefits of peanut butter, but so good.

Yoghurty · 02/10/2013 19:26

I love PB!

One of my favourite things to do with it is get a bowl of natural yoghurt, add a few drops of vanilla essence and a sprinkle of cinnamon, then mix in a large spoonful of (crunchy) peanut butter.

Slice up an apple or strawberries and use it to dip in the mixture. Or just eat it with a spoon Grin

It's very moreish (and low carb!)

Peanut Butter and Jam sponge.

I make a sandwich sponge, chocolate or basic vanilla is fine.

Make up buttercream and add a few spoons of peanut butter, mix it in well. Spread jam and peanut buttercream inside of cake. Sandwich together.

Dust with icing sugar, or if you've a really sweet tooth, ice it with plain icing (or melted chocolate) scatter crushed peanuts and mini marshmallows liberally.

It was a cobbled together birthday cake once that went down really well. We make it quite often now. Grin

TwoStepsBeyond · 02/10/2013 19:33

I add a big spoonful of PB to Nigella's breakfast bars, along with any nuts and seeds I have in the cupboard.

When low carbing I enjoy a teaspoon of it with a square of really dark chocolate or one of those tiny Dr Karg cheesey crispbreads. Naughty enough to satisfy but still keep you under the daily allowance.

DS puts a dollop in his banana milkshake.

I mix it with hot water to make a simple sauce for stir fry or to use as a dipping sauce for those little Chinese snacks.

And my favourite is crunchy Whole Earth on thick buttered whole meal toast, just yum.

Lagoonablue · 02/10/2013 19:45

Peanut better spread on bread. Add chopped red pepper, a few spring onions and then top with grated cheese. Very savoury and delicious.

Lagoonablue · 02/10/2013 19:49

Or peanut curry. Fry half an onion with a red pepper, add a diced swede potato. Add a spoonful of curry paste and stir well. Add a tablespoon of PB or to taste. Heat for 5 mins then gradually add some veg stock until the mixture is smooth and as thick as you would like it to be.

Serve with pitta or nan bread.

mamaduckbone · 02/10/2013 19:52

Peanut-butter-and-crunchy-carrot is one of the dcs favourite after school snacks...just carrot sticks with a dollop of crunchy peanut butter to dip.
Peanut butter tand banana or peanut butter and homemade blackcurrant jam on wholemeal toast for breakfast.
Honey and peanut booster bars are the most amazing sticky flapjacks.

wonkyduck · 02/10/2013 19:54

I've been brought up on Whole Earth peanut butter by my mum as it is much tastier and healthier than the sugary ones. I got the following idea from my mum as she used to make it like this for my brother and I when we were growing up:
Put a big dollop of the crunchy peanut butter into homemade tomato pasta sauce. It makes it taste really creamy and has a subtle nutty crunch.. plus adds protein too. Or use smooth for the same taste!

Peanut butter and blackberry jam on cream crackers.

We love peanut butter in our house! Smooth or crunchy.

On toast, bread or bagels; on its own or with banana or chocolate spread.

In baking and deserts; cookies, cakes, cheesecake, brownies, pie, ice cream.

In sweets: peanut butter fudge, peanut butter chocolate bark

In savoury dishes
Sweet potato/butternut squash soup
Fry, chopped onion, ginger and chilli, add ground cumin and fry for another minute
Add cubed sweet potato or butternut squash, stock and simmer till tender
Blend until smooth
Mix peanut butter with either a ladle of the soup or hot water if soup very thick and stir into soup
Add lime juice and chopped coriander

African bean stew
Fry onion, garlic and chilli. Add ground cumin and coriander.
Add chopped tomato. Stir in cooked kidney beans.
Mix peanut butter with hot water, add to pan. Simmer until desired consistency. Add a squeeze of lemon juice and serve.

I have a vivid memory from when I was about 3, of 'inventing' a sandwich which was smooth peanut butter with chunks of cheese. I loved it and can remember eating it in our old kitchen. I see someone above has mentioned peanut butter and cheese and I'm quite tempted to try my old favourite for lunch tomorrow now!

blueberryboybait · 02/10/2013 20:41

Peanut butter and banana ice cream. 6 bananas sliced and frozen, 3 tbsp peanut butter, wizz together in a blender. Serve straight from the blender or if you prefer it more frozen then put in a bowl and freeze a little longer.

We keep a bag of frozen banana slices in the freezer for ice cream emergencies!

Shannaratiger · 02/10/2013 20:57

Peanut butter and baked beans - yummy!

ToffeePenny · 02/10/2013 21:17

Peanut butter truffles - peanut butter, cream cheese, honey in a 2:3:1 ratio then covered in a thin layer of melted dark chocolate.

They also make great gifts not that any make it that far

PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 02/10/2013 21:27

With celery dipped into it is my favourite way

Strix · 02/10/2013 21:29

Peanut butter and banana sandwich (preferably toasted)

Peanut butter on fresh cut apple wedges

Spicy satay is easy peasy with crushed peppers, peanut butter, and milk.

TheFutureMrsB · 02/10/2013 21:29

I like peanut butter and marshmallow fluff toasties/toasted sandwiches delicious!

Strix · 02/10/2013 21:35

How could I forget chocolate bar dipped in peanut butter. A good chocolate bar in good pure peanut butter (like while earth) is better than Reese's any day.

sammisatt · 02/10/2013 21:49

That 'mums know best' shit is so dated and patronising. It made me want to gag on my peanut butter and marmite on toast.
