The Philadelphia team are conducting a search to find <a class="break-all" href="http://ad-emea.doubleclick.net/clk;233108829;57157683;r?www.philadelphia.co.uk/localheroes" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">10 "Local Heroes" - folks who have a recipe for a dish they cook for their family which uses everyday ingredients and includes Philadelphia and who are willing to share it with the nation - and they have asked Mumsnet to help promote the search.

They say "We want YOUR recipe ideas. We are looking for ten deliciously quick and easy Philly recipes, one from each of our ten home cooks. If you?re chosen to represent your region as our Philly Local Hero, you could feature in our TV ads, on our posters or online. Oh, and a there's also a cash reward of £1,000 for selected Philly Local Heroes to make it an even tastier proposition"

No, I buy the Asda cheap version for only 58p a pack, use it to make super lemon cheesecake with cream and cheapo digestive biscuits, good enough for a dinner party and such good value.

I have a great recipe, but I'm not showing anyone photo's of my knackered house, no matter how much they offer me...

A friend of mine was in one of the makeover ads (not shown on tv afaik but one on the website).

The film crew turned up at her house at 8:30, and didn't leave till well gone 5.

I mix mine with garlic and herbs and load it on top of those giant mushrooms then add cheese on top, then cook in the oven But I don't want to be filmed either!

They are very keen on this 'hero' angle, aren't they - advertisers I mean. Wasn't there some car 'family hero' competition recently - and that Iceland ad, 'our mums are stars'. Am a bit over the 'You real people - you're all special in your own little way' kind of vibe.

Melt it over spaghetti, add black pepper & pancetta that has been fried off - v quick carbonara.
But I don't want to be filmed either!

Put it on top chicken breast or salmon darn (add a bit of lemon juice for the salmon). Wrap them in tin foil and cook. Yum.

i use philli quite a lot but no way do i want my manky council kitchen on tv.

plus im not exactly tv freindly as camera's add 10lbs so would need widescreen.

and im not even sure any of my recipe's are actually unique or original.

but it's lovely mixed with sweet potatoes.

also, i make carbonara with the one with garlic and herbs (instead of crfeam) lovely.

I have all sorts of recipes with it, but I'd rather they paid actors to be in the adverts than did it on the cheap.

I do quite a lot of the savoury things mentioned already, for pasta, baked spuds and all sorts. None of them have anything to do with where I live, nor am I prepared to be filmed.

Feel very jaded about them asking this; Monsieur, zay are chust using us.

I have a lovely Philly recipe, but have a sneaking suspicion I got it from their website in the first place.

And could I be arsed to film myself/photograph my house etc? I think we all know the answer.

guaranteed childfriendly tea (well mine anyway) pasta with philly, chopped up smoked salmon (the cheap trimmings), peas and a squeeze of lemon juice.

I cook with the Lidl brand of philadelphia, it is exactly the same but heaps cheaper

If you got rid of the lemon, SSS, it would just taste sweet and bland. (But maybe you'd like it like that?!!!)

Yes, I sometimes use it in my cheese risotto recipe

but I'll be buggered if I'm doing all that for a £1000 - tight wads, sounds more like a cost cutting excersize than a prize

ODDLY!! - tonight i made vegetarian risotto - 3 peppers one green one red one yellow two onions one white one red - chopped celery - green beans chopped, broccoli florets

arboria (SP) rice - butter- LOTS of philly- heaven!!!

I stir it through pasta with a splodge of pesto for an instant creamy pasta sauce.

BUT I use Asda Smart Price cream cheese, at 58p it's about half the price of Philly.

And there is no way I would have a film crew in my house - it that supposed to be a PRIZE ? We had a film crew at work once, they swanned about in black puffa jackets, walkie talkies and sunglasses (no, really) they over-ran massively, broke things, didn't put things back properly and, ahem, tried to nick stuff.
