"there once was a boy with propensities,
for problems linguistic and sensory
they said "hmm, autistic?"
his mum went ballistic
and brainstormed on mumsnet intensively

This is by DH I will try a less scatalogical rhyme myself shortly:

Sometimes our poor DS1
Finds it difficult to poo from his bum
He tries oh so hard
And contorts his visage
But that troublesome poo just won't come

A little chap, born blue and not breathing
Spent his first days on CPAP and seizing
But he's small and he's strong
And he's muddled along
Now he is crawling, standing and teething :)

Dr Tall, Dr Fat, Dr Bald
Said "Prognosis is not good at all"
But DS said "Oh no!
I do not wish to go"
Now he's driving us all up the wall!

Oh, badkitty, I empathise! Can we talk treatments on a another thread, maybe?

Love this thread.

My boy did a bolt, I pursued
When I cought up, well I nearly spewed
With Calmness and Tact
I had to extract
From his mouth, a slug, half-chewed

Being an SN mum is quite tough
Most days I feel utterly rough
Unlike the smug NT mummies
With their bugaboo buggies
I wouldn't even get third prize at Crufts

Ah, prunes...they look a bit slug-like, so I'll give them a try. thanks Smile

Come on all - more limericks please (they're very theraputic)

This thread is lovely! :)

Now my daughter has ASD,
Some people cant obviously see,
'Shel catch up in the end,
and eventually have friends.'
....but still behaves repetativley!

ADHD is not a made up disorder,
Ask my SD who lived in the borders,
Her Mum found it tough,
And the school had enough.
But lots of meds have got her in order!

First our pub it was lost in the flood,
No matter what tears sweat and blood,
Credit crunch, smoking ban and tax rises,
The story had a few more suprises..
10k damage meant my teannants no good!!!

Our LA, the Armagedon,
Shallow be thy name,
Thy meeting come
But nowt will be done
Except CPD
In Devon

Give us this day
Our daily stress
And give us our PECSeses
As we lose the TAs under mountains of laminate
And lead us to low expecations
and deliver us from hope.

For thine is the Education Kingdom
The power and it?s gory
failing my son
Again.

suddenly needed to wear specs

when he threw em down the drain.
He is quite a pain in the neck.

but he'll just toss and turn in his room
and then he'll shout
and just mess about
and tomorrow I'll be shattered before noon

My lovely little boy is autistic
the LA sees just a statistic
their over-arching plan
is to ignore if they can
which is absolutely a pisstake

The case officer thought she might trick us
By hiding a shock in her knickers
She pulled out a NIL
We felt ready to kill
Till tribunal ignored her ass-lickers

When I realised how old this thread is, I wasn't going to add my own, but we have just had a rough appointment with Bee, and this is great for a chuckle. So, here goes.

There once was a girl almost eight
Whose development clearly was late
The Paed said "you see,
Her brain's only three,
You need to stop fighting her fate".

Yeah - it was that good.

Ok this thread is fab! Grin

My girl may have PDA
There is no more I can say
She hides under tables and chairs
A thing from teachers nightmares
But she can't help being born this way
