Hey guys new thread for DLA wait times 2026 , be nice to share everyone’s experiences on how long new claims are, change in circumstances and mandatory reconsideration 💛

The nerves. Renewal due next month, sent paperwork in October or November I can’t even remember. A random payment in my account Saturday morning that looks like 3 weeks of MRC. My regular payment would have been this coming Tuesday.

I rang this morning to be told that they can’t give claim information over the phone and that a decision was made last week and a letter sent and that I have to wait for the letter. How can I sit here and wait for the letter with no idea whether they have somehow decided that the child no longer qualifies and stopped the claim? And why wouldn’t they at least pay until the end of February like it was originally meant to be?

what if the letter is lost? Is there any hope that this is standard with renewals?
feeling so anxious now. I sent all the evidence etc.

Hey SD 30/05 2025 refused MR 04/09 2025 sent more evidence off still haven’t heard anything 🤯 rang them today 26/01 2026 still hasn’t gone to anyone to be looked at can’t say how long she said they are working by dates nearly 35 weeks since SD !!😫😫

Hi, im in similar circumstances to you. My original SD was 05/02/2025 was rejected in july 2025. My new scan date is 28/07/25. So your scan date would be 04/09 they dont go off your original scan date x

My MR scan date was 06/08/25 I rang on the 11th of feb for them to say it was with a decision maker.

Mr done 15th July 2025 finally with a dm feel so anxious it's been so long to get this far, was told first I didnt have a mr then to a decision was made last year to no sorry it's with a dm now .... fingers crossed

Can I tentatively join? I haven't yet sent off the forms but plan to imminently - just need to print of paediatric report. I hadn't realised that Ds may be eligible - he's recently been diagnosed with combined ADHD but it's didn't occur to me. Filling in the form has made me realise how much "extra" we do for him, bit worried I've underestimated timings!

It also confused me as to why so many of you were having scans done on your children before I realised what it actually meant 😳

Go over and check and check again is my advice and get everything printed off even fluff you think it’s not worth it the more the better and always go off your child’s worse days that’s what I was told and when it got denied I done the mandatory reconsideration and wrote out 5 pages why I disagreed ☺️☺️ hopefully it will be easy for you and quick x

Have you heard anything yet, mine was 15th July and is with a decision maker finally 🙌

They seem to be doing a lot with that scan date atm I’m 20/8 xx

I be glad when this is over, 31 week wait and were with a dm now hopefully will hear by the end of this month the outcome hoping I don't have to go to tribunal as this has been draining, when you call there rude yesterday was told I didn't have a mr to there not changing the decision to it's with a decision maker so not feeling positive x

With my daughters they had closed the claim I rang up for information 3 times before they realised honestly it’s all a joke

No I’ve not heard anything yet , I read that it can still take a little while when they go to a decision maker , how long has yours been with them ?

It wasn't with one last Thursday and yesterday was told it was so I would guess only a couple of days, would you mind keeping me posted if you hear

I rang them this morning to see if any progress had been made , the call handler told me that a decision was made on the 14th feb. I asked to be put through to someone to tell me , they didn’t - no change of decision so tribunal for us . Good luck with yours

Oh no this is awful, i called this morning at 9am to be told there was no change to its not with a decision maker, wasn't happy said i was told it was with a dm, the gentleman said its not its on a holding que with the dm and dosent know why they said that..... I don't feel positive with this as seeing so many September dates and even Novembers being done, I said we have hospital Friday morning and will have more answers he said call and update them before it gets to the dm as everything will help? I guess I know Friday if the information giving today was right, so sorry to hear you still have to keep fighting for your child x

I obviously have to wait for my letter to see why they declined the award, but I’m assuming not enough evidence to back up what I’m saying , everything takes so long and to get people to listen to me as my child masks a lot . I am starting to get somewhere finally , we actually have a meeting at school with senco next month ! So definitely ring up with any extra information you get. I’m sure the more the better for you . Sounds like your having a right nightmare being given the run around though , telling you one thing and then another !

Hi i put a coc in and mine also stayed same rates I put in Mr in about 2 weeks ago but have just got a more detailed letter from his school im hoping they will just class it as late evidence and look at it again rather than wait a lifetime for MR im going to phone them tomorrow and see if this is something they will do as I only sent the school letter of yesterday has anybody else been in this situation but im presuming it will go to MR because I sent the forms off for that any advice would be really appreciated thanks

I have just phoned them up got through straight away shock they received my late evidence and she also said it has gone to MR 🤯so another long wait

I had the dm call a hour ago its been declined, looks like you im going to tribunal, I felt she was going on more about the night time needs and as my daughter is only 3 she was arguing that children that age do wake....so angry my daughter is due to a medical condition she wakes and because she has calpol she complained why is she not prescribed medication stronger, this is a joke 33 weeks and been declined was crying first then thought no you can fight this ☺️

Had phone call on Thursday morning the dm declined my mr. I asked her could she please wait till tomorrow Friday the 20th as the hospital could clarify more, she said no. I called Friday to say what evidence I had now would win this they said to send it in as late evidence and there send it to dm to reblook even though she has said no, does anyone know if this is right that they would look at this information agian thank you

My MR scan date is 04/09/2025 I rang them today they said it’s only a few infront of ours so it shouldn’t be long atall if it helps anyone :)
