Hello everyone :)
My 5yo sons current award is due to end tomorrow. He currently gets MRC .I called 2days ago to be told it was now with a decision maker. Renewal was scanned in on the 9th July.
I called back yesterday , used Option 4 as I have had so much clarity etc using that option and thats from advice on this thread so for that I thank you :)
A lovely older sounding gent told me that my sons renewal has been done.
He remains on MRC with LRM added from his 5th birthday on 24th Aug. Award runs till 24th Aug 2027 so another 2yr award which is fine.
I do have a few questions that I hope someone can help me with if thats ok?
Am I correct in thinking my son will get LRM backdated from his 5th birthday to the 9th Nov as that will be the first day of the new award?
I receive his last 3 weeks payment today of his current award so how will that work out going forward with regards to payment dates ?
All I had in regards to new evidence to submit was his ehcp that was issued in March, I then sent a further amended ehcp special delivery on 6th Aug with a cover letter explaining which part is different . (Section i ) The local authority conceded at the first response of an appeal I registered and he starts at a wonderful specialist school soon.
I am already planning for the next renewal. I know when the time comes around again I will have so much more evidence. Care plans, reports from his specialist school etc. Hopefully that will see a longer award.
With this being my first renewal for my son, is a 2yr award commonplace for that first renewal? We are over 2yrs into awaiting for his autism assesment so does this hold any weight for a longer award next time?
I know this has been a long post but its literally the only time of day I can think clearly.
