Well I’ve had a message from decision maker asking to call her coz she couldn’t reach me but then I couldn’t reach her the lines dead so I called costumer service lovley guy has been in contact with her explained the situation with the line even called me back to make sure it was working and she still couldn’t get through to me. Basically he said to put my mind at rest she basically made the decision on the evidence she’s got and kept him at high rate but won’t officially award him until the evidence I read out to her in the morning(the stuff they lost- under smi he should get hrm now he’s 3 ) when she calls again in the morning. If she can’t get through the lovely man is going to call me a relay the information out basically

Kind of good news, how much will you have to read out? 😵‍💫 I know how much I sent in for smi, if I had to read all that out they would be asleep by the time I finished reading it all 😂

Tbh I will only choose a few of the documents the ones I think are the most impactful - I’m happy with the award staying the same considering theve made that without the additional stuff they have lost. I just want it all to be over. When I first claimed it was so much more straight forward I sent it in 20 weeks later I got awarded low rate care done an mr in 2 weeks he was awarded Hrc and that was that. This time they have lost everything and stressed me out to the core x

Tbh I wouldn't hold your breath on the mobility, especially under smi 99% dont get it on smi. they realllly dont like giving it outm My daughter is 3 and cannot walk at all and they denied the mobility. Although I reallly hope for your sake your boy gets it and you dont have to fight as its draining. 🤞🏻🤞🏻 for you

NC SD 11/04

hoping I’m not here for the long haul 🤣🫠

My NC scan date was 09/04, I received a DLA payment on Wednesday! No letter yet to confirm what he should get going forward but it was backdated!

Amy87G · 24/07/2025 18:40

Yellowduck1993 · 20/07/2025 22:40

NC , SD was 01/04

I rang last week and was told wasn’t with a decision maker but back pay went in that night at midnight. MRC for my 2 year old, suspected ASD, global development delay and sensory processing disorder.

so either they’re fobbing people off on the phone or they made my decision mega quick but don’t think back pay would go in that quick. Also got my letter on the Thursday 2 days after the backpay which seemed quick.

so don’t be disheartened if they say it’s not with a dm as it could be x

I received a lump sum this week but no letter yet, hoping for that tomorrow as I can’t work out what he has qualified for as can’t remember the date on the form!

That’s a good idea, highlight all the most important parts, it may work out better so you know they have the important information to decide your award. Good luck tomorrow 🤞

That’s shocking! Is that what you’re doing your MR for? I am doing a COC and have put in for smi but have included how much she refuses to walk too, I’m not hopeful that she will get it though I think they will probably just give her LRM from her 5th birthday, I’m just sending in all I can and then atleast I know I’ve tried my best for her.

Yeah MR for both high care and high mobility as she was only given middle care, but has tonnes of night time needs too. I tell everyone that if MR isnt successful to take it to tribunal its exhausting and they bet on people giving up. They reallly seem to hate giving out high mobility nd ive no idea why? Im actually so sock of seeing people not get what they deserve and then havs to struggle as a coincidence of it

I sent a NC 2.5 weeks ago to an address I found online because the post office wouldn’t sent it recorded without a postcode. I sent it to Freepost DWP, DLA Child, Mail Handling site 4, WV98 2GJ. I’ve not heard anything from them about it being received other than the signed for photo on Royal Mail.
Do you think they’ll have received/scanned it?? I’m so stressed! Do people always hear back that it’s been received??

I’ve sent in additional evidence numerous times to that same address. They never confirm it’s been received via letter or text etc.

Give it a day or two, and then ring to confirm they have received it. Note down the name of who you’re speaking too, the time and date etc.

Thank you, assuming they’ve received your additional evidence so it’s worked out ok using that address? It’s very annoying they don’t confirm. I see people talking about their SD all the time but I’ve no idea when mine is!! Do you know which is the best number to ring and find out please?

My coc is for similar, my daughter get MRC with full time high needs, I believe she meets the criteria for hrc and hrm, we didn’t have any evidence or diagnosis when I first applied but believe she met criteria back then so I’m hoping now I have all the evidence they might up her award. I do wonder if they want us to fight them all the way before getting high rate mobility, it’s such a long wait but hopefully it will be worth it in the end.

My son is on hrc and hrm and although he definitely needs it as his needs are also very high. He was only given middle rate too and i didn't dispute because I didnt really know much tbh, but his award was randomly audited a few month's later and was changed to high on both. My daughter is physically disabled aswell well as intellectually her needs are astronomically high and I sent toones of high quality evidence off. i put off applying for so long because as you know the forms and the whole process absolutely sucks the soul out of you I thought if I left it to 3 shell get both elements and I wouldnt have to reapply for a few years. Apparently they bring in MRs to purposely still decline/give lower awards in the hopes people will not bring them to tribunal ive done so much research on it all the past couple of month's its disgusting

My claim for backdate for the DM ON UNIVERSAL CREDIT was applied for yesterday for disabled child element and carers element.

Anyone know how long this could take, please?

Long time lurker here! SD 22/04
Received back pay today, looks like MRC, LRM. So pleased to have been awarded considering how many children have been clearly wrongly denied on this thread but may do MR as my child has both day and night needs which exceed MRC and I feel they meet requirements for HRC. My other child already receives HRC and their needs are not at all dissimilar.
Good luck all!

Anyone know how long after sending the renewal form will you receive a message to say it’s scanned in? Mine was showing on Royal Mail as delivered and signed for last week but no message to say scanned in yet
