Had a message on my uc journal today there sending my claim to the decision makers for back pay of disabled element how long does that take ?

Mine took week.

My daughter has Autism non verbal Global development delay impairment, iron deficiency severe anemia gastro esophagus reflux disease and pica and she gets middle rate care, yet her cousin has epilepsy with minimal needs and shes on the same rate. Make it make sense because I can't, the system is broken. Fight it and get what your child deserves

We’ve just been awarded LRC & LRM for our second daughter, our first gets MRC & LRM

I was shocked we didn’t get MRC as she needs more care than my eldest, I ran my claim form through AI and we worded their care needs differently not using strong enough language, it took 15 weeks from scandate to get the award and i’m dreading to think how long it’s going to take to get the MR decided on now.

I keep getting told different things it's so frustrating I just want it to be over. I don't know why it takes so long when it's with a decision maker! Last week I was told it's been opened and being looked at and a week later they still havnt decided 😫 I was also told they only look at one at a time so not sure why it's taken so long 🤯

So the important thing for High Rate Care is all down to there night time needs. They could have so much care needs during the day, but if they dont need night time care needs they wont qualify.

My son was on MRC as we didnt understand this, even though hes always had sleep issues on his renewal we made sure to get across his sleep issues and now he gets HRC

so its a tough one, if they feel they need to contact school or doctors they’ll put your claim to the side whilst they wait for the relevant people to make contact and then work on other claims if that makes sense, but also i wouldn’t trust what the phone people say, i got told 3 weeks ago it was with a dm and then the next time i called it wasn’t🤣xxx

Hopefully plenty of awards for people today x

Tiredndconfused · 20/06/2025 09:17

Been told claims are taking 25 weeks, I said I'm over 26 weeks he said oh well I can't tell you how long just it is waiting to go a desicion maker 😫😫

Rochemumma · 20/06/2025 09:22

Called at 9am still not done so looks like i will be heading to 29 weeks 😫
We already have an award but disputing the level. They have said it doesn't look like they need to do anything and they arnt waiting for any information so I guess I'm just at the back of the pile or maybe my DM is on holiday or something who knows. Frustrating though that they tell you they are working on x date and you wait till it gets to yours and then that date passes and people ahead of you are getting awards 😫 Each call handler will tell you something different to get you off the phone I think 🤔

Kittykatmumof4 · 20/06/2025 09:27

Just spoke to a team leader coc are taking 28weeks which ours was scanned 7th may. So got a while yet. This is for to try and get hrm for my 3 year old

Danleigh89 · 20/06/2025 09:46

Mr currently 27w 2days.

s39 · 20/06/2025 09:50

Actually feels like they don’t care about MRs & COCs and if it’s picked up by DM than fine if not than tough you will just have to wait! How ridiculous is it that people are waiting 5/6 months for a decision the only positive thing about it is if your awarded they will backdate

s39 · 20/06/2025 09:50

Danleigh89 · 20/06/2025 09:46

No not called this morning. Rang yesterday but she couldn’t tell me if with dm or anything as she said she can’t see them details on her system. Funny how she can’t see them but others can lol. Haveu phoned?

Danleigh89 · 20/06/2025 10:43

I’ve just called got absolutely nowhere I’m gonna stop calling now and just wait. Everytime I have rang I’ve just got the same old wait 25 weeks can’t tell me if with a dm or anything absolutely useless x

No I was 21 weeks on Wednesday I probably won’t call until bout 24 week mark like you said it’s pointless as they tell you the same 25 bs!! Doesn’t look like it’s being done in date order either
