DLA WAITING TIMES THREAD 66

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

NC - Scan date 25/10 coming up to 20 weeks this Friday. I have received payment today worked out as high rate I'm over the moon. Thought I would let everyone know who have dates at a similar time as me.

Can anyone help with how I inform universal credit please?

Thanks xx

NC SD 14/11 and 21/11, 2 children. Not called to ask based on responses here..

Both going through the school for assessment for autism and on EHCP plans.

Expecting LRC for both if I get awarded...

So sorry hun, either put in for an MR or if you have extra evidence, ask them to look at it again with late evidence. If you are putting in for MR make sure you request a statement of reasons asap

ERichardson · 11/03/2025 13:19

Anyone able you answer a quick question, when you tell uc does every child get the disabled element added or is it done on a assessement. My son gets LM and MC but when I added the change it wanted me to fill out a houseing element and said I was not entitled to it. I am a little confused

mumof1879 · 11/03/2025 13:25

I already logged my MR on the phone. They did give the reasons on the phone, but basically not enough evidence to prove care needs or mobility… He has a physical health issue which impacts his life hugely. This is where we have got stuck I think as medical evidence proves the diagnosis but doesn’t really prove the impact it has on his life in terms of mobility or care needs.

I don’t even know what else to send but I can’t give up.

Don't give up. Do you have anyone who see's this daily impact of care needs? Anyone in your local community or services? Document what you can in anyway possible. Sending you hugs X

I don’t know if this will help anybody but my original scan date NC 08/08 I made a complaint on 20/12 and it was declined on that day too
I sent my MR which was received 08/01
I then emailed DWP explaining my daughters claim wasn’t looked at properly I also emailed my MP so last week the claim was put as high priority and yesterday a senior case manager rang me and awarded HRC & HRM, then during the afternoon while I was at work the complaints manager rang me and she even said due to the back log some claims are just being scanned over by the DM and they don’t have the time to go through multiple evidence that is received, I found emailing the dwp was a lot faster than waiting 25 weeks for an MR

Selblockh · 11/03/2025 14:48
