DLA WAITING TIMES THREAD 65

1000 replies

zoeybrooks45 · 21/02/2025 20:01

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

@Glitzxx

Got through pretty quick .

He is was awarded this morning , I burst into tears on the phone . HRC (no mobility) due to his age , awarded till 2026 .

Then a renewal . Which is understandable due to him just turning 4 .

I feel like a huge weight has been lifted , this is going to mean the world to my little boy going forward

Il stick around to see how everyone gets on

Congratulations on your award, I just called same SD as you 29/10 mines still isn't with decision maker hopefully not long now for the rest of us

MistandFog2024 · 06/03/2025 10:03

They will probably make a decision today cuz you've sent in more than enough information I'd ring later 😉 fingers crossed

Frankadoodle · 06/03/2025 09:52

My little boy was 3.5years when I sent the forms off , I have sent in since sending the forms .

His autism pathway acceptance letter
A letter stating he receives speech and language therapy and a letter from his nursery teacher outlining his extra care needs in nursery and relevant information .

I also gave them phone numbers for everyone involved but as far as I'm aware they didn't contact them and they didn't ring me to ask any questions .

Good luck with your claim .

Congratulations so happy for you. Ive been reading posts for some time now and see how anxious you had become. So relieved its over for you and you got the outcome you deserve. This is quite reassuring for me as we always seem to doubt ourselves and the claims for our children. We are currently still waiting SD 22/11 so i would say around another 3/4 week wait. My daughter is 3, and on autism pathways and also has a visual impairment (not blind). Evidence wise i have sent, SALT report, Asd acceptance letter, SALT communication package that she is currently receiving, Portage supporting letter, referral for a service which supports children with sen needs & visual impairment in school settings, moorfields reports, nursery care plan regarding nappies etc as shes still in those full time but it does state on there (communication needs asd pathways), accident slips from nursery as she is always falling over/into things because of her eyes. Im hoping this is enough to get an award.

Long time lurker

NC SD 29/10

Just rang and spoke to the nicest lady ever.
It has been passed on to a decision maker this morning. Currently at 18.5 weeks so hopefully a decision soon.
Added some notes on but may not be able to get extra evidence to them in time. Have provided them with names and numbers of the people to contact regarding updates on daughters needs.
Will the DM call them or just look at what I have put on the application?
How long is it usually with a DM for?

Thanks x

Youve been awarded? So happy for you 🥰

Frankadoodle · 06/03/2025 10:47

Sorry one last question . I have made change of circumstances on universal credit claim online for my little boy receiving DLA now .

I have also added a note on the journal stating this just to clarify .

Does anyone know how long it takes for these changes to be made ? And also how long to receive the back payment of disability element from UC?

Thanks

emalea · 06/03/2025 10:47

Someone on a Facebook page has been awarded today 14/11 SD new claim x

PositivityRipples · 06/03/2025 10:51

@Frankadoodle The change is added to your claim automatically ( by the computer) it is done pretty quickly in time for your next uc payment.. The backdated payment needs to go to a DM to action backdated date and amount this usually takes a little longer usually within 7 working days ( but not always)

Thank you ! I take it they will make a note on the journal once this is done about the backpay ?

And il see the payment going forward reflecting in the UC statement ?

I really hope you get an award, sounds like you have plenty of evidence from professionals. Our SD is 19/11 so hopefully we’ll hear soon. My little boy is 3 and also suspected asd, he is non verbal and still in nappies too and significant development delay x

Frankadoodle · 06/03/2025 10:56

@PositivityRipples I'm presuming with the computer automatically applying it and just going off my say so about the DLA award that they check the system that what I'm saying is correct as evidence ?

Or do I need to send the award letter when I receive it ?

candywoo · 06/03/2025 10:57

@Frankadoodle finally over 🙌

Rang today for 25/10 daughter nearly 5 awarded hrc and lrm from her birthday this month. Not sure on the length of award and will wait for the letter to update UC.

GL all🤞
