Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

I personally wouldn’t as it states school states child’s behaviour raises no major concerns which is contradictory to what you’re saying at home. It might be better getting school writing a letter.

I sent DLA forms back in beginning of November all filled out apart from asking for the child national insurance number also known as child reference number, will this delay my claim? If so how do I found out my child reference number please?

Unfortunately not as I was on the phone for 2 hours on hold then had to go on the school run :( I’ll try again today! I wonder if what another comment said is true though about them putting the auto message there to stop people continuing with the call x

I have just rang to see if they received the extra information I sent they have, this is such a long process.
The guy on phone said it will be with decision maker soon.
Has any October new claims got a decision yet?

Hi!

can I ask what the address is for the extra information please? I was in a queue on hold for 2 hours yesterday to see if it’s worth sending in extra info (NC 2/10) so I think I’m just going to risk sending it.

thank you!

NC SD 02/10. Still heard nothing 😔 Anyone else heard with the same SD please? 🤞I tried to ring but auto message said I will receive a letter by the 20th of March? Week 19 tomorrow 🫣

Ellie75su · 10/02/2025 09:58

Has anyone had an update on their Mandatory Reconsideration with a scan date around 2/9/24? I daren't ring and ask again after last time, I could barely get my words out the advisor on the phone made me feel as though I was a pest. (It was my first time ringing too!)

I'm still waiting MR 03/09/2024 🫣

Ellie75su · 11/02/2025 09:04

@DailyMadness
I did call last week, was told it's taking 25 weeks and not to call again (despite being the first time I'd called) if they need anything that they would contact me. So I guess it's just a waiting game now. Hopefully we hear something soon! Good luck x

I've phoned a couple of times over the last few weeks. Sometimes the call handler is lovely and sometimes I feel like I'm.beijg told off 🤣 I'm usually a very patient person but this wait has been horrendous. I'll let you know if I hear anything. Good luck to you too xx

Invinsibubblality · 11/02/2025 10:30

The auto message on the phone line (re a letter in march) is a general message and doesn't mean anything about your claim I'm afraid.
Every March letters are sent out to current benefit claimants, as benefit rates increase in April and the letters outline the increases for each person.
The automessage is there to reassure anyone calling who is worried about the letter or the March changes. It has no impact on the DLA decision unfortunately.
