DLA WAITING TIMES THREAD 64

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

@la077 this is what I thought . It's the only logical explanation . Seeing as they work in date order . As seen by the person who posted earlier which has had their date changed as it was an error

Yeah definitely. It's a very strange process I most admit. Mine should almost be done as it was quite far last time I got an update and my SD was 1/11 so theoretically early oct should be done already

Poppycooo · 21/02/2025 10:09

Called yesterday NC scan date 5/11 to just be told 25 weeks. That was on option 4. Man on the phone was lovely though.

Toomanyplates23 · 21/02/2025 10:12

Morning everyone. Last week I was told our claim was with a DM. Phoned today to check the new evidence I sent has been received. I was told it has, but that our claim is still in the queue, waiting to be assigned to a DM 😭The wait continues - NC 09/10.

UpsideDownAndBackToFront · 21/02/2025 11:46

Hi all, my daughter has been on MRC for past two years and we are also on UC so we get the disabled child element for her. My question is, now that she also gets LRM, do I need to notify UC? Google wasn’t clear. TIA

Mr week 21 + 1day can anyone help please whats the difference between decision maker and case manager and what stage is it at when with either of these thanks in advance

Jjordye · 21/02/2025 11:55

Hey I’ve just been told my decision has been made but the lady couldn’t tell me on the phone, she said I should hear something Monday but it was done 19/02/25
SD 08/10/24

does this mean decline?

Cozy2025 · 21/02/2025 11:59

Hi my daughter got declined she is non verbal ( doesn’t even say one word ) severely delayed and suspected autism , doesn’t role play or with other children . I am going to do a mr , she has just turned two but application was made when she was one . They said that one year olds require constant supervision and nighttime needs ( even though i sent a update 1 week before she turned two ) she stims rocks Back and forwards, bangs head back on things, can’t feed herself and is highly sensory . Is up for 4 hours some nights. What would be the best way to do a m/r would it be to compare what other 2 year olds can do compared to my daughter ? . I sent some evidence with the claim which was speech therapy referal , paediatric acceptance for assessment , and letter to say that she has suspected learning difficulties/ special needs
grateful of any advice
thankyou

Not necessarily! Ring back and choose option 4 - any other DLA enquiries and they'll be able to tell you

Sorry to hear this. Did they give you a reason why? Can i ask what evidence you sent with your claim please?

Jjordye · 21/02/2025 12:40

I’ve gotta wait for the letter to find out why, and I sent a supporting letter from her school, she’s only just had her first appointment with peads in January, they haven’t send me the breakdown yet but I was gonna send that in too, but of course they’ve taken 8weeks and still haven’t sent what they was supposed to of sent me. She’s nearly 5 and has transitioned backwards instead of forwards

Is she suspected asd? Definitely put an MR in and do you have any other evidence you can use to support your mr?
maybe was a decline due to lack of evidence, chase up the paeds for the report and then gather any other evidence you have, even if its something which seems so little, send it all in.
I had to do an MR for my son in 2023 and it was overturned to HRC LRM the dm who did the MR actually called me to apologise for the fact that i had to even do the MR.
Currently waiting on an outcome for my daughters claim but only on week 14.

Yes, she’s also suffers with extreme sensory issues, doesn’t feel b/m etc, so constantly inco, I’m gonna apply for a MR once I receive the letter thanks, they did tell me previously that can also send in evidence up to 30days for the same DM to look at to reconsider decision

Frankadoodle · 21/02/2025 13:21

This whole process just makes me feel sick . If it is a decline I wouldn't mind if I'd waited 6weeks for a decision but to wait up to 25 weeks for a decision for it to be a decline is ridiculous to then have to MR to then wait another 25 weeks.

Hopefully I won't be waiting much longer for a decision

There is no difference I have asked loads of times my mr 22 weeks today been with dm for 2 weeks this Monday and still no decision as yet but they both make the decision I asked the lady yesterday

Daniellefp82 · 21/02/2025 13:47

Feel like screaming when you ring this dla to be told no decision as yet then the lovely 25 weeks speech get your fingers out your arse an sort it out it’s bad the time scale it’s disgusting even more when you have to do a mr coz they lost your eveadance so decline on the booklet alone when you know your daughter deserves it coming up to having her 5th operation in 2 years wheel chair when going far metro plates to keep her hip togeather and to top it all off next op is to try an sort her scollious out which is a 84degree angle and her left rib cage as 3 snapped ribs on it due to the scollious but they said no coz they lost everythink now 22 weeks waiting an dm as had it for 2 weeks this Monday wot a absolute joke
i swear to
god

I think it was the age that played a big part in the decline. 1-2 year old don’t sleep through the night constantly as it can vary. Do you have any other information to support MR? Does she attend a nursery? It’s difficult with age. I would focus on what dangers you have to keep her from and day to day difficulties.
