DLA WAITING TIMES THREAD 64

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

Nc scan date 10/10

Hi all, I have been following this thread for a while and like many of you I have been full of worry after not hearing anything. I called last week Friday for an update and was told my claim hadn’t even been looked at. Today I can see a pending payment which works out to be MRC. My daughter is only 3 so wouldn’t be entitled to mobility. I feel relieved that her needs have been recognised as it’s been HARD. She has suspected autism, speech delay and her behaviour can be really challenging at times. Evidence wise, I sent in a report from speech and lang, a waitlist letter , a letter from the health visitor and a support plan from her nursery. Hang in there ladies, it is not easy!! I hope all your little ones receive the support they are entitled to and I hope you are all doing okay xx

MistandFog2024 · 18/02/2025 15:37

@Cbxo thank you and congrats to you and your daughter! Your post has given me hope because my little boy is also 3 and non verbal, no interaction with peers and development delay. I have sent similar evidence to you so thanks for giving me hope for a positive outcome! All the best x

Hello

My scan date is 27.11
I'm new to all of this and filling in forms isn't my strong point.
My little one who is 3 isn't in pre school or anything yet due to sleep insomnia. He is on melatonin to help. And is still being breast fed due not settling without it. It's either that or a 2 hour drive every night and then he will be wide awake between 1am and 3am ready to start the day this is a struggle for me when i have to get up for work at 4 am in the morning . He's on the wait list to see pediatrician for autism. He doesn't communicate or ask for things he has no sense of danger at all but he won't go out in public without being carried or having his hand held due to being over whelmed with all the people. I have found the one thing he loves is music (nursery rhymes) his routine can't be broken or else is affects his sleep his eatting litrally everything.
He's a very happy little boy

I wasn't going to bother applying for DLA but due to being so shattered working and litrally not sleeping I'm hoping it will give me a chance to drop a day at work. He currently has speech and language. He's been reffered to the pediatrician and umbrella pathway and also has child development involved. I'm worried I will be declined as he is only 3 and not yet in a pre school. I'm just wondering if anyone has any advice or is in the same situation.
Please don't judge my long message iv been awake since 1am 😮‍💨😴😫

COC scan date 29/08. Daughter already on HRC so applied for mobility as she has turned 5. Rang yesterday as I am on week 25 but according to them it’s my 24th week. Can someone help me clarify the weeks from the scan date because honestly I need to make I complain if I’m on week 25 as Thursday would have to be their last day and no decision has been made as off yet.

Also I wasn’t aware that I could apply for mobility from age of 3 since my daughter receives HRC. At this point I don’t know whether it’s a decline, low mobility or high mobility that she will get. I have lost hope after waiting out this long. But if she were to be awarded the high mobility rate, does anyone know if one can be backdated from the age of 3 when she was entitled?

They would backdate to when you submitted your COC. unfortunately they will not be able to backdate from 3years as you would have had to apply

@UpsideDownAndBackToFront I had a payment today also of the remaining week. I was paid last Tuesday the 4 week amount. Due to evidence I wanted to send my claim only went back on 28th January. My ds claim ended on Saturday too and I'm waiting to hear if the renewal has been done and accepted. Happy to hear you had good news and I am hoping to get the same.

Probably meant last stages of case worker and then needs to be looked at by the decision maker.

They probably got them mixed up

I think they say 7-10 to receive a letter . But you will probably find the payment in your account before the letter . That's what happens a lot of the time

Fingers crossed for you. I rang them the day before my claim ended and the lady on the phone said she’d push it through to be processed so maybe that’s why I heard back today. May be worth giving them a call as they received mine Feb 7th so yours should have been done by now surely!

Mummy2Annie · 18/02/2025 18:29

NC sc 11/02/25 .
I rung today to check they’d received as haven’t got a letter they said it’s taking 25 weeks

Scanner20 · 18/02/2025 19:03

@UpsideDownAndBackToFront yours was done pretty quickly then. I will phone when I get a chance to if I don't hear in a couple of days. Maybe by Friday. As long as it is done by the next payment date. Good to hear a positive renewal though!

Just to prepare you, because I had that extra little random payment, the lady the phone said my regular payment date would change now, I think to two weeks later. So don’t expect it on your usual pay date or panic if it doesn’t come in.

Has anyone seen any more October dates on Facebook groups awarded? I'm early November but hoping we see the awards head towards mid/end October soon! Thanks x

I've seen a few between 22nd-29th October. Makes me anxious as my sd is 1/11😬
