Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

Just rang up to see if any progress
I was told sorry we can’t find child on system 🤦‍♀️

abcflower · 11/02/2025 13:57

ok thank you! i request the forms back in June, but i was late sending them as i was hoping to send my child's diagnosis report from the pediatrician but it arrived a couple of months later. I did send a letter explaining this so who knows!

TaraMickaila2025 · 11/02/2025 14:13

Just rang and they’ve changed my scan date to 8/10 no idea why she couldn’t tell me, but it’s with a case manager is that different to a decision maker

Yes case manager goes over the claim then it’s passed to a decision maker

All I got told when I phoned that the case is still open. What does this mean? Was hoping it would be with a dm by now

Glitzxx · 11/02/2025 15:52

I hope this is my last thread nc 29/10

1102s · 11/02/2025 16:10

Congratulations on everyone’s awards today so happy for you all and fingers crossed for those who are still waiting ❤️❤️ my scan date is the 9/10 hope this is my last thread 🤦‍♀️🤣🤣

Frankadoodle · 11/02/2025 16:14

On hold for an hour and a half . Got through . The evidence I sent Friday and yesterday have both been received and scanned on the system .

I'm so relieved they received them before the claim gets looked at by the decision maker

NC 29/10

I sent the evidence via recorded delivery £8.35 I think it was to send . If this helps anyone who's trying to get evidence to them in time

Danielle822 · 11/02/2025 16:30

Frankadoodle
Have they confirmed it is with decision maker now ?

Klrb16 · 11/02/2025 16:32

NC SD 4.10 was told it had been assigned to a desicion maker last week.

Currently on hold as i want to check that they had received the extra evidence i sent. I sent it recorded delivery 8.85. Hoping it got to them before the decision maker looked at the claim haha

Jessmarie20 · 11/02/2025 16:38

@MumOfThreexox I heard the same, and I am planning to write an email, have you got the right email address please? xx

MaddyM8 · 11/02/2025 17:03

Hi all!

Congrats on those awarded!

Still a way to go for my daughter

Nc scan date 15/11

KCJ1984 · 11/02/2025 17:08

Hi, this might sound like a silly question but how do I know what the scan date is? On my letters I have a date of 05/10 but didn't state scan date. I think that's the date I requested the forms

Klrb16 · 11/02/2025 17:26

The scan date is the date they said they received your forms if that helps at all

KCJ1984 · 11/02/2025 17:34

@Klrb16 I think that's the date they said, but, I know that's the date I requested the forms as didn't send them back till November

[email protected]

I emailed at 15 weeks but I’ve had no response, have heard it sped up other people’s claims though so worth a shot. Good luck! X

Bel1234 · 11/02/2025 19:04

@MumOfThreexox Bless you! Thank you so much. This waiting is actually giving me anxiety :((

NC SD 12/08/24
Decline 23/12/24
MR 02/01/25

Claim is for my son with moderate to severe bilateral hearing loss. He wears hearing aids.

National Deaf Children's Society have helped me with the MR but still not feeling confident and anticipating having to go to tribunal.

i don’t understand this. Because my 7 year old has blue ear and had it since 2022. Meant to wear two hearing aids but doesn’t. Had one grommets operation but failed so on waiting list again. He was awarded MRC and LRM - I was shocked tbh. He only has moderate hearing loss in one ear and mild in the other. Don’t get how they refused yours. I am due to renew now though after having it for only 1 year

StaceSplatt · 11/02/2025 19:29

Can someone tell me the address to send extra evidence please
also do I add his name and reference number to envelope??
thanks

Emmz06 · 11/02/2025 19:41

DLA Child
Post Handling Site B
Wolverhampton
WV99 1BY

No need to write anything on envelope apart from their address. Include a cover letter with your child’s reference number, name, date of birth and address.
I would also recommend sending it tracked/signed for delivery!
