Hi, we got the same scan date. 21/06.
The part that says " someone else's that knows your child " did you make the nursery or school fill that part?
Apparently,I was told that part is very sensitive...
Even with so many details and diaries my friend included, they still fine a way to declined her application.
I am so worried and the waiting is not helping either xx

Over the years I've applied for dla for 2 children and I have never filled out the bit for someone that knows them.
With dd she was home schooled so there wasn't really anyone to fill this part in.
With ds I applied during lock down and I didn't fill this part in for him either has he hasn't started nursery and I couldn't easily find someone to fill it in.
I just sent off all the other evidence I had hospital reports, speech therapy, occupational therapy, physio, portage
Both children awarded high rate care and low rate mobility.

Now I'm waiting on a desision for my 3rd child and again I've not filled in this section because he does not attend nursery.

I was panicking for it because I didn't really do much on that.
I am just doubting every thing now...I just want to get it over with
I sent some evidence but I am wondering if it's enough

MrsW12 · 15/09/2024 19:32

Hi scan buddy! Yes I got the teacher at nursery to fill it in. Oh did she get declined because that bit wasn’t filled in? X

Hi, SD 24/5

nic00000 · 16/09/2024 10:54

mamof3darlings · 16/09/2024 10:58

Mummyof3safire · 16/09/2024 11:12

How do you update universal credit please I have jus been awarded higher care from middle and need to update u.c ? Tia x

Summermightbegreat · 16/09/2024 11:19

Does anyone know if you can backdate bedroom tax? I'm moving soon to a 3 bedroom and get UC rent element. I've seen you don't have to pay bedroom tax if you have a child with DLA if someone stays over to help and my mum does come and stay over sometimes when I need support, but I don't know if I should delay the move until I get the DLA, or at least a decision. I kind of thought it would have all been sorted by now. I'm thinking I'm only on about week 15/16, so it would still be a while.

Hi, SD 24/5

Does anyone know how long it's usually with a decision maker?

Can take up to 2 weeks. Mine has been with DM since 06/09 still not heard anything, the lady on phone said it can take a day, a week or 2 week think it depends if they need to contact anyone for more info ect.

Summermightbegreat · 16/09/2024 11:43

Hiya everyone, I've just phoned for an update out of curiosity and the lady was helpful and said most assessments are taking 20 weeks on the mark pretty much. My 20 weeks takes me up to 21st October (SD 03/06), so a bit of a wait still. I think I'll try and keep myself busy!

MammaT7 · 16/09/2024 11:57

I was informed last week to call this week for an update, as my 20 weeks hit that mark today..
To be told it's still with a decision maker, and unfortunately she can't give me a time scale of when that would be finalised. She said to call back in a couple weeks and see what's happening then 🤷🏼‍♀️ first time claiming for DLA, and I'm not sure it's worth the anxiety and grey hair 🤣

Do you mind if I ask how long yours have been with DM? I would call back and ask to be transferred to someone who could give you more information. First time I've claimed DLA too so I've no idea apart from what I've read. SD 03/05 and been with DM since 06/09 I called Friday and the lady said to call back this Friday if I've not heard anything as it will be 20weeks since receiving and 2weeks with DM. Seems as though everyone is being told different things, we must have the slowest DM 🫣 Good luck, wishing a successful outcome for you 🙏

Hi, SD 24/5

Does anyone know how long it's usually with a decision maker?

Can be as little as a few hours upto 2 weeks, mine was with a decision maker less then a day

Ash900 · 16/09/2024 13:11

I don’t know my scan date yet. But they only received my forms on 12th September so I have a long way to go and I feel like I’m going to spend the next at least 20 weeks doubting what I have written 😂

MrsW12 · 16/09/2024 13:36

I called earlier to add some more information about what my child does (eg, throwing things at people). When I explained some things, she said “oh but she has only just turned 4”. That doesn’t fill me with hope. I was told then it’s 20-22 weeks. My first claim was with DM for a day

My 3 years old doesn't throw stuff at people but her twin brother has autism.
Don't make that put u off x

When I called around 3 weeks ago, I was informed then it was with the decision maker, I spoke to someone last week who was incredibly rude about me calling, and he informed me that it wasn't with a DM, and that they were awaiting my child's senco reply to them, and he advised me to call back today, and I've been told a completely different story to what he said previously 🤣 it's very confusing.
Today I was told to chase again in a "couple of weeks" if I haven't heard anything

Hesxboon · 16/09/2024 14:04

ive give in and called today for update forms recieved 15/05 and been told today still in the Que 🙃 and a decision should be made soon.
this is so stressful!

paperdove074 · 16/09/2024 14:06

Nooooo I just missed a call from them, I already spoke to DM last Thursday confirming night needs I've been waiting for her to talk to school, why were they ringing again ahhhh 😭😅

2ndtimema · 16/09/2024 14:55

Thank you for the replies.

This may sound like a silly question but I'm completely new to this 😅 how do I know when it's with a decision maker? I called this morning and the woman on the phone just said it's no longer in the queue which means it's being 'looked at'. She said she didn't know if that meant it's with a decision maker and she didn't know how long it had been.

LizzieLoulabell · 16/09/2024 15:04

scan date 21/05 COC
called them on 30/8 to see and was told with DM
should I call again it’s been just over two weeks now?

paperdove074 · 16/09/2024 15:09

SD 10/5, spoke to DM 12/5, she spoke to a new teacher at the school who claimed they had no idea what she was talking about she's perfectly fine I've never told them about any issues (absolute next level of rubbish they just hadn't learned ANYTHING about her clearly) and was rejected 13/5. Now to get hold of people who actually know this is all absolute rubbish and get more evidence together.

Anxiouslywaitingmum · 16/09/2024 15:11

Called a few mins ago for a update, apparently it's not with a DM 🙄 but she did say apparently there's a note to say call me when it is with a DM, so we'll see
