Week 18 of MR, just called for a update apparently it's with a decision maker but if I'm honest the lady I spoke to didn't really have a clue what she was saying.
I called for an update and her answer was 'well yeh it hasn't been looked at yet so' and then just stopped talking.
So I very much doubt it's even with a DM 🤣

Anxiouslywaitingmum · 13/09/2024 12:28

Also I called twice, first time I accidentally cut off half way through security, both times answered straight away with the same lady so if you want to ring for a update today's the day because they aren't very busy 🤣

Staria88 · 13/09/2024 12:47

Positive post!!! 🎉🎉🎉

S/D 09/05

I called up this afternoon for an update and my daughter has been awarded MRC and LRM for 2 years. The decision was made yesterday. I was told I'd receive a text but I didn't.

It's been an emotional week as she was also awarded her EHCP which has taken years to get.

Never give up fighting for the support your children need. I know it's a long, hard road!

Really hoping others get good news soon. x

absolutelydone · 13/09/2024 13:16

I sent my daughter’s forms off yesterday! Let the wait begin. I forgot to send her proof of part time timetable though! Hoping they could just clarify it with school if need be.

not that it works! Still hadn’t attended since April.

BeWaiting · 13/09/2024 14:05

SD 30/5 although sent 3 weeks previous

called today. Didn’t have to wait long. Told currently 20 week wait. Still not allocated

sparkle0217 · 13/09/2024 14:12

SD 16/5
Finally my wait is over. Thought I’d post this to give others hope. Got my back payment through today, no text either.
It’s been a long process my son should have been on dla 8 years ago but with Covid and long waits for assessments he is finally getting the help he needs. I’ve lit bought him so many additional aids to help with his adhd today and feel a sigh of relief cuz the waiting has drove me insane.
Good luck everyone waiting it will soon be you x

GemzZ92 · 13/09/2024 14:36

Not DLA but UC
Can anybody help....
Ive just recieved 2 letters from the DM to say theyve agreed under special circumstances to back pay disabled child element and carers element. What happens next? Do they update the statements straightaway? Or sbould i reciece another later sayin how much im owed.

15/05 parking
called this morning for an update but just said to call back 02 of October if I don’t hear anything by then. Haven’t really
goven it much thought up until now and now I’m just anxious and feel like it’s going to be declined.

Hesxboon · 13/09/2024 15:10

Sorry forgot to add told me it takes a few weeks for a decision so I’m assuming it’s with a decision maker now.

Saweetiee · 13/09/2024 16:26

Scan date 17/04 going into 22nd week
called back today as advised from last call and cheeky chap said “I’ve seen you been chasing this up a lot, as you should clearly know already no decision has been made ” . Tuh ! Well isn’t that understandable for me to be chasing up after waiting 22weeks ?

The application says up to 8weeks , the letter says up to 15weeks and mumsnet proves average is around 15-17 weeks and they tell you 20 weeks when you call up . My time has exceeded all of these and then I’m made to feel shamed when I ring up 😕 not impressed at all . He told me to wait another few weeks 😑

I don’t know if it’s being 3rd trimester of pregnancy or if it’s rightful emotion but I feel angry and worn down . My son is suffering everyday and me along with him but as he is non verbal I could not compare my pain to his as he can’t even get that across to me poor thing. What’s worse is that it may not even be awarded and its not just money why I’m upset as it will help but he still has to live with his disabilities but the recognition the DLA award has if it is awarded will help him get the right help . We are lower class so I’m used to being the one that finishes last but this is my son and I know that he deserves help and recognition which having to wait half a year for and then deal with rude people when I am using the only form of communication that they have given us and I’ve only started calling after 20 weeks mark it’s devastating . Sorry for the rant 😢

Sorry to hear this. Have you made a complaint? You can do via the phone and log online on DWP website. Have they stated the reason why? If anything holding it up. Hopefully not long to go now. Call them daily if you want as it’s past 20 weeks.

Ash900 · 13/09/2024 18:17

Hi everyone. I’m new to all of this and have seen some things so can someone tell me what a scan date is, does everyone have to send birth certificates, do this ring everyone to ask questions? how long am I looking at? And when does the wait start and when should I receive a letter confirming they have received my claim?
I rang for forms 4/9/24
recieved forms 10/9/24
sent forms back 11/9/24
they received and signed for the forms 12/9/24

Summermightbegreat · 13/09/2024 19:44

Scan date some time at the beginning of June. Haven't had much luck with getting school to be receptive to child's issues and help me with real evidence but I've pushed them for certain things where I can, like evidence of her school refusal.

I called, the lady said it has been sent to the correct department!?? I thought it would of been In the correct department when it was recieved? So don't know what that means? Will it be assigned to someone soon? who knows, its all a magical mystery it seems 🫣 So none the wiser and once again told 25 weeks 😖

Thank you @paperdove074 for your kind words and support and well wishes , love this forum , helps me feel a little less alone in this ❤️ god bless you .

@zoeybrooks45 i think that might be the only option as I’m not sure what the hold up is at this point I even only got my letter to say it’s gonna take 15 weeks today at 22 weeks so it seems like they just forgot about my claim for a while . I’m going to try now ! Thank you for the advice as I wasn’t aware you could do that

It is a shame that some of the call handlers can't show sympathy to parents fighting for their children. It's already hard on It's own and some of them are just so rude....

Just hang in there lovely, u will get there soon xx

Yeh you would have thought so but 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ anyway I'll be ringing Monday and see what else I'm told. Probably will be back in a queue waiting to be assigned to someone 🤣🤣 18 weeks today, nearly 36 weeks since originally claim was received 🫣

Honestly !! Such a disappointment.

Thank you @Motherlysweet i will keep advocating for my son as if I don’t who will? And I plan on calling back Monday Morning to check progress and hopefully I’ll get someone abit kinder . If no progress has been made I will ask them to file a complaint as I looked up yesterday and I can’t do it (or maybe just can’t figure out ) how to do it online it says to call . But 22weeks , rude handlers , and no information or updates within or outside of specified timeline . I think that’s more than enough to complain

MrsW12 · 15/09/2024 15:24

Hi all. Scan date is 21/06 so only 12 weeks so far. I already claim for my 11 year old but now waiting on my daughter who’s just turned 4 and just started reception. I sent in a copy of autism referral from SALT (which was quite basic really), a copy of the social communication questionnaire, a photo of her pink disability card and the other day I sent some more details of new things she’s started to do and what the school says she does there. I’m really hoping this is enough because of her age.

Hi, we got the same scan date. 21/06.
The part that says " someone else's that knows your child " did you make the nursery or school fill that part?
Apparently,I was told that part is very sensitive...
Even with so many details and diaries my friend included, they still fine a way to declined her application.
I am so worried and the waiting is not helping either xx

Pls When you call them tomorrow, tell d call handler to transfer to someone that can give you explanations why you haven't heard from DLA and others with same scan date got decision weeks ago...
Its true that Sometimes the call handlers really dont have more informations to give but someone else does

Pls don't feel discourage calling. U can call as much as you comfortable with.
Fingers crossed 🤞 this week for U lovely x
