@xxholr5xx Ah right, so when we first applied my child had only just been referred to CDC. So initially I had sent the referral, CDC acceptance letter and a supporting statement from her community nurse saying her sleep is not good and she's non verbal, has no danger awareness etc. Later on I sent in a sleep diary, a paed appointment letter, sleep referral. We have since seen a paed and been put on to the autism pathway and we have an appt for tier 2 at sleep clinic in September! She doesn't begin nursery until Sept so SALT will intervene then. She has been referred to SALT for complex social needs? (she's obviously non verbal as I said, we tried pecs and now moving on to makaton) So they have plenty of evidence from us. If anything they have better evidence than what I wrote on the application but I have always been clear about her having poor sleep! So I guess we will see what happens but they definitely know it's a problem as other professionals have said it. I called up and they've put down a note about waiting for paed report regarding autism pathway xx Oh and I sent off audiology report which indicated hearing is fine and it's more special needs, which was then obviously confirmed at paed appt (sorry for jumbled message😂)

@C1502 absolutely fight it. i've never agreed on awards being based on age. should always be based on care needs, i will do the same for HRC. i'm prepared to go to tribunal x

Yes it should definitely go off the child’s needs not age, it’s such a frustrating process! When I did the original form she was 4 months old so all I could write was the sight was unknown and that it’s been said she will be delayed. She’s 10m and can’t even sit up yet, it has only been recently that she has been able to completely roll over and lift her head during tummy time so I’m going to get a letter off the health visitor and send that too. I’ve had to leave work as she is unable to go to nursery as anything such a sickness bug or diarrhoea can be life threatening. I hope you get what your child deserves to have too!xx

HangryLimeBeaker · 14/08/2024 11:27

@C1502 So frustrating isn't it as it's like you're asking for the bare minimum (what your child is entitled to) and even then you have to fight! I'm so sorry to hear about your child. Have you applied for a MR yet? xx

Just to share, my scan date is 20/04. I called today and still not with a decision maker.

HangryLimeBeaker · 14/08/2024 08:32

Wow that's really early! Was you made a priority? I have seen a few people get a call from a DM if they're unsure about certain things. Usually if you've accidentally left something unticked or not been clear enough about something. x

Not that I know of, I haven’t rang or had any contact with them since I sent the form off, except for a letter to ask for his birth certificate and a letter to say it will be 15 weeks. Will just wait and see what happens xx

Billie87 · 14/08/2024 16:24

Ok I called again and a lady answered and it's finally with a dm. SD 16/04 so hopefully others with this date are at the same stage as well. Good luck everyone x

Will it be 4 weeks from now? And also if anyone can advise what i need to do regarding universal credit please ❤️

Your award letter will tell you whether payments are a tuesday or Wednesday. My backpay was until the 30th July and Wednesday is the usual payment day so I'm presuming next payment will be either the 21st or 28th August, this is due to not really knowing if the 31st would of been a payment day or not, once I have that august payment it will be easier to know when the 4 weeks are.

Finally sent my son’s DLA form after it taking me 3 years to complete the form….I kept starting it then stopping it and then the template changed and I kept giving up. In my defence, I work more than full time, we’ve moved home, had some renovations, had some bereavements and I’m always on top of son’s other paperwork like EHCP and arranging SEN activities etc.
This thread is helpful in managing my expectations on waiting times!

Please can I ask a couple of questions :

  1. I wanted to send the form registered but the post office refused as they needed a postcode and all I had was the free post details. Is there a way around that for future reference?

  2. In all the supporting documents I wrote my son’s name and my national insurance number on it but I think I should have put his date of birth on it too - argh! Do you think that will be a problem?

Thanks vm

Should be fine if it's included in the initial application , mine was scanned in without that however when you send future documents out your sons full name, dob & reference number when you get one. Also the DLA address is

DLA Child
Post Handling Site B
Wolverhampton
WV99 1BY

it's recommended to send as tracked and signed as if lost easier to locate, and not to send original documents but photocopies. hope that helps and good luck xx

Scan Date - 16/04. £2470.50 into my bank today! No text received, not sure what the rates are…
I called on Monday and was told bluntly that I had to wait 20weeks and my claim wasn’t even being looked at, so quite a shock to be awarded.
