Hey, I’ve been reading this thread for a while now my scan date is 21/04 rang two weeks ago and was told it’s not yet been sent to the DM, i just wanted to ask if I should send off the letter I’ve received for my daughters autism referral acceptance letter I’ve received today or just await the decision as it seems people around my date are being awarded!

any advice be helpful!

Hi,

I would send it recorded delivery, call and let them know you have extra evidence sent on recorded delivery, quote the reference on the delivery receipt to them and they can add it to your notes on the system. I did this last week and she told me to call once it was showing as signed for to which they agreed they had received it :)

I know it is based on care needs, but this could help with whatever you have put in your claim form.

hope this helps x

Hi!

Thanks for replying, I feel so anxious about it 😔

Yes I’m feeling very anxious too! It’s a bit all consuming thinking as I know it’s so close but equally could still be 2-3 weeks. Fingers crossed it’s soon for both of us

Thank you, for replying, don’t suppose you know the address where I can send it recorded delivery? X

My COC scan date is 04/06, hopefully that means I'll hear soon. The wait is horrible. Good luck with your MR 🤞

Hi, has anyone been successful with COC recently? My 15 yo has ASD plus multiple co-occurring conditions and receives HRC and has done since she was 6 but she's recently been diagnosed with POTS and suspected rheumatoid arthritis so I applied for mobility (scan date 26/04) - on another forum 6 others have been declined in the last week for COC and I'm starting to think that maybe it'll be the same for us.

I'm COC also and I'm 7/06 scan date I have phoned up number of times after sending in extra evidence and been told it's upto 20 weeks wait so I'm expecting end of Sept to middle of October as they still work in scan date ish order of some sort and still on April dates

I know it's so hard to get HRM but all you do is try and send in everything, I know alot of people win it through tribunal which is heartbreaking to know but fingers crossed with the outcome

Hi , for those of you that applied for Carers Allowance online , how long did it take for them to make decision and pay ? Also do they back pay to the start of DLA or only the 3 mths ? I applied 8 weeks after the DLA decision so just wondering if they only back it to then or to when the Dla was backed to which would be January 16th

Ruelzdontapply · 21/08/2024 21:44

I sent in some extra evidence do I need to call them to let them know?

When I applied for carers a long time ago it could only be back dated by 3 months not sure if it still the same now.
Our claim for DLA didn't take 3 months so it was back dated to the start of our claim.
I didn't apply online but it took 14 weeks to be awarded careers allowance.

No it will be scanned on anyway. I'd call them in a couple of days time to check that they got it though

I applied for carers at end of July and only took 2 weeks to get awarded but they started my award from August due to my earnings, but I did everything online has a decision maker phone me we went through a few things and was sorted, I know someone that doesn't work got awarded in June and got it back dated from January when they started the DLA claim, it all depends on your earnings if you do work or not

scan date 17/04 I called Friday and was told there was no progress, called today and was told a decision was made on Monday. Everyone seems to be told different things. I’d give them a call tomorrow

Sounds very similar to me then , we was awarded Dla June 7 th and Dla was backdated to January 16th , I wasn’t to sure if the carer allowance would go from January or June … I don’t work as I had to quit last year due to both boys needs and getting diagnosed with a couple physical things myself ( joys of getting older lol )

They might go from January for you, just remember if your on UC they take it back of you £4£ if that makes sense so if you are awarded that far back you will lose it all again in another way only if your on UC

Scan date 4th June, so far no texts or letters. So just parking in the thread to keep updates on wait times xxxx

HangryLimeBeaker · 22/08/2024 09:04

17 weeks on Tuesday and still heard nothing. Anyone with similar scan date to mine still waiting? (30/04) the wait was fine but getting a little tedious now lol x

@HangryLimeBeaker yes same date over here, I have noticed not that many people have posted with a scan date in between 22nd - 26th April.

I just don't understand why they don't just update the initial 15 week letter to 20 weeks?? It would save a little of the frustration of waiting. It seems only when you get to 15 weeks you then find out it's not actually 15 weeks at all and the bonus news that escalation starts from 20 weeks. It's a poor service yet again from the dwp.

My COC was declined for absolutely poor reasons and it seems it was a hasty decision. As the reason it self did not make sense, neither does it seem anything I sent was read. Hopefully you get a better outcome. My scan date was 29/05. COC are taking 15 weeks or less might be worth calling up.

Yeah... and then when you call to chase after the 15 weeks advised they tell you not to contact until after 20 weeks!😂. I don't understand why in this day and age everything isn't digital. Track your application online, add additional evidence online would be so much easier lol

Just called as the no letters or texts was really starting to worry me. Confirmed my scan date is 26/4. Couldn’t tell me if it was with a decision maker but said it was in the right department and my son’s case was open. Latest date I can hear for decision is 13/9. Advised that if I haven’t heard anything from them by that date then to call back. Hope this helps anyone with a scan date near mine. Congrats to everyone that has been awarded, good luck to anyone still waiting. It’s a very anxious time for everyone
