I was told 20 weeks today. Anybody has experience with citizen advice filling in the DLA form? I am not going to attempt as I am dyslexic and dyspraxia and struggle to get my point across.

Princess23 · 20/08/2024 19:51

@Stacey0909 I've been wondering about you,How frustrating they won't tell you on the phone. My daughter's letter was dated 9th Aug and back pay went in on the 14th. Keeping everything crossed for you.

Thenoseymother · 21/08/2024 06:52

Update - SD 19/04, Decision made 16/08

just had backpay this morning. I think it looks like it’s high rate care and low mobility.
I sent absolutely ZERO evidence in so I do believe it’s definitely how you fill in the form and explain their care needs.

Good luck everyone still waiting! ❤️

Not citizens advice but a charity called contact helped with my application. I took all the evidence I had with me for her to see and she went through each question with me on the application. I explained my answers and she wrote it on the forms. Told me what evidence to include and what no to include. She said to always base your answer on your child’s worse day and avoid using the word ‘sometimes’

Nattie23 · 21/08/2024 09:12

Good morning,

Woke up to a back payment today 😌

Requested forms 22/03
Scan date 18/04

If I've calculated correctly, I believe the decision was made 16/08 so we were 17+1 weeks from scan date.. 21 weeks exactly from requested forms.. I think we've been awarded HRC & LRM... I will just wait for the letter to arrive to find out length of award..

We received 2 letters in this timeframe.. I didn't call up at all.

This will make such a difference for my daughter..

Thank you for the support in this group, good luck to everyone waiting 🤍 Don't give up hope or fighting for what your children deserve x

LBB2020 · 21/08/2024 09:36

Morning all, I submitted my sons renewal late and didn’t think it would be renewed by the time the current award ended but have today received a payment which seems to be a few weeks at low rate so I think we have potentially been awarded LRM along with the MRC we currently receive (we received our regular MRC payment last week so this is a top up). We’re away at the moment so not seen a letter and hadn’t received any text messages! If I’m right I’m so pleased! My son has Down syndrome and when we first applied for DLA we were refused and had to do a MR so I was really anxious doing the renewal!
Good luck all x

mamof3darlings · 21/08/2024 11:03

Congratulations to all who have been awarded.
good luck 🍀 to those still waiting. Xx

chlo94xx · 21/08/2024 12:02

Just to ask, for those that have been awarded and on UC, how long did it take to recieve back pay from the elements on there once your child change of circumstances was approved?

mamof3darlings · 21/08/2024 12:31

Took us 3months xx
