Mine took 15 weeks on the dot.

Was that recently, that's good to know I'm not too far away

Hi, is it best to send additional evidence to the free post address or to the handling site address?
thanks

Franbob · 19/08/2024 09:32

HangryLimeBeaker · 17/08/2024 17:01

Yes, I've always used child's full name, dob and reference number. Then just sent it straight to DLA. I'm waiting for a paed report to come next week to forward to them also x

Hi, what address do you send to? The free post or the handling site one?

thanks

Billie87 · 19/08/2024 09:50

As 16/04, we've been awarded higher rate care and low mobility. As others have said it's a double edge sword as you realise how much your child needs the extra care and support when written down. I really hope you all get your awards I'll be watching to keep supporting good luck to everyone xx

Hi guys. I’ll just be lurking about for the next few months. My son has very obviously adhd and was awarded last year, he’s a lot of hard work day and night. I have an applied for my daughter (his younger sister) who is much less obvious and not much of an issue at school. She won’t sleep though and is often tired and grumpy in school. She wets herself multiple times at night, and soils herself throughout the day, she always wears cycling shorts under her uniform but is too mortified at school to say anything and often comes home with dried poo in her pants, a very sore bottom, and smelling :( she is on movicol but it’s not helping at the moment. Do you think it’s a waste of time having put in a claim? She is almost 9 and going into year 4.

HangryLimeBeaker · 19/08/2024 11:19

16 weeks tomorrow and called up, supposedly hasn't been seen by a DM yet but who knows as call centres say different things. Good luck to everyone still waiting xx

Hi lovely I think they're the same address? It all goes to DWP post handling to get scanned on. This is the address I've always used to send additional evidence,

I honestly believe it depends on how well you document everything on the forms but would be difficult if they contacted the school. Doesn't hurt to give it a try though? Do you have any evidence you can send them so they aren't just relying on schools input? x

She’s been referred to the bedwetting clinic but the wait is long, and they can speak to the gp regarding sleep. I thought I may as well apply as not, I work full time and it’s so difficult between the two of them and their older brother (no issues just a kid lol) that I could do with reducing my hours if poss. Can only try I suppose.

Exactly worth a try. I'd mention you are on a waiting list to be seen x

Text received today saying little one qualifies for DLA! So relieved my goodness. 18 weeks tomorrow. Good luck to everyone still waiting. I had lost all hope to be honest and was dreading the postman coming with a decline letter. Stay positive everyone 💕

Hiya, scan date 24/04 for COC. Same position as you my child is 3 and receives HRC for ASD and developmental delay. I have applied to see if we qualify for the mobility component under SMI.Not holding out much hope due to his age. But am on week 17, was told when I called about 2 week ago that the wait was 20 weeks. Might try calling again this afternoon. Will let you know if there is an update. X

My scan date is 10/06. It is for my 3 year old also but he only currently gets MC which was awarded age 1. I am hoping for high rate care but i do feel he meets criteria for mobility under SMI but he needs to be on high care first x

Fingers crossed for you, my son is same non verbal, development delayed, walks around with eyes closed been referred to children's eye assessment, ASD pathway and has no awareness of danger, sensory issues as well as other things sent in alot of evidence but all just depends I know it's so hard to get HRM but will go the whole way if I need to, I have applied for a blue badge through Local Authorities, keep us posted when you get the news
