That's me refreshing Monzo every morning now I know it's with a DM (scan date 13/03)
Slightly related/unrelated question. I've also applied for a DLA COC for DM. She was awarded LC years ago for a whole host of medical issues but has since got Alzheimers and Vascular Dementia and isn't in a great way at all. Anyway, DWP sent DM a letter (that she hasn't seen, she's still a bit in denial and temperamental abour her dementia) saying they'd tried ringing me (definitely didn't) and then suggested DM could benefit from having an appointee.
My sister deals with all DMs medical appointments etc so she rang the number and put herself forward as appointee, girl on the phone said she's made a note of that and sent it to the decision maker. We're just wondering if there'll definitely be a F2F interview involved in the appointee situation considering we've probably sent far too much evidence, but a lot of it from the GP and the memory clinic detailing how poor DM is with handling her own affairs, losing cash, etc etc. A F2F situation is what we'd been dreading and actually put us off applying for COC just in case DM needed to be interviewed. The dementia is a very sore subject with her and life can be pretty impossible when she gets it into her head we're questioning her senility.
We're in Northern Ireland if that makes any difference. There was no mention of an interview when my sister rang to put herself forward and I'd hate to think we'll be waiting another month or more just waiting for this interview.
Sorry for the tangent but I've found these threads very reassuring and helpful and hoped someone here would have experience
