Ive just called up guys got through so fast the man was so nice to, he said have you been informed that the wait is up to 20 weeks now and that my case is now open and to wait and see if i hear anything by the 24th of july if not to call back then, so the man who said it was with a decision maker back in may obv didnt have a clue as it werent, so another few weeks of waiting is on the cards now for me!
scan date was 6/3

Crazyhouse4 · 28/06/2024 10:08

@Shazzle88 i called and still no decision, it sounds like it’s been looked at by case manager but waiting for dm to sign it off, said I would get a text either way of the decision and it could take a few days, so holding out for a text at some point πŸ™„

Thanks for the update! I was told middle of July for my SD of 19/3. So annoying they aren’t honest about it, I’ve been waiting on tenterhooks and it’s agonising.

I'm trying to hold off calling until later on this afternoon. The wait is unbearable. The whole system needs looking at, it's so dated.
Really hope some awards happen today 🀞

Its so sad isnt it when its all coming down to money and budgets! The wait times to even be seen by the community paediatrician in liverpool is a joke up to 44 weeks now im just over half way through now to be seen yet if you live in knowsley just a slight different post code there is no wait times getting a diagnosis in 3 months its so bad, my son has been seen by every professional we can so far and cant do anything until we have been seen by alder hey, we have the educational psychologist coming out next month to his nursery setting hes due to start reception in september but i dont think hes going to cope hes only doing 8am-12pm now as he has been suspended 7 weeks back yes suspended from private nursery its crazy as they dont know what more to do to help without funding for 1:1 etc xx

I can well believe it hun, my DS has been suspended before when his 1:1 was away and the person covering didn't know him. I'm constantly getting harrassed about him being late or off ill, yet every other week they have me go in to pick him up for some reason. I think our waiting list is 3 years, but they don't tell you, so far we've just been told he's on it. My older DD is on a waiting list for ADHD assessment, but they 'paused' doing assessments over a year ago, at which point it was a 2 year wait and the local NHS hasn't changed provider or done anything. GP refused RTC at first and by the time they finally did it the waiting lists for that were massive. Trying to get her physical health issues resolved is no better.

Me to lol, i did call abd they said had definitely been made priority so just the wait now. The wait is so awful and my daughter is so desperate for sensory things and specialised vitamins, i just want to be able to provide these for her. Im a nervous wreck xx

Ljstar · 28/06/2024 11:52

Just an update for anyone waiting on a back payment from UC for the disability / carers element.

I have just spoke to them after waiting 3 weeks, they said there is a huge backlog due to the legacy benefits moving over to UC and
back pay is taking significantly longer. She said it can easily take several months to be issued..
so more waiting ahead πŸ˜…

if you want to claim careers you can cancel you LCWRA. However, it will be contradictory. If you are not working you can claim careers allowance which is separate from UC. But it will deducted of UC. You can’t claim both career elements and careers allowance. If you earn over the threshold you can’t claim career allowance. Career allowance counts towards your national insurance contribution.

How old is your son if you dont mind me asking, our nursery is the same ring you over the slightest thing to come pick him up my work were getting fed up with me having to shoot off and get him had to change my days and hours 3 times within the year to suit nursery as they couldnt cope with him being in full days, they have had the funding for 1:1 for 6 weeks and he done brilliant with that but then the funding stopped so couldnt carry it on for him, our gp is rubbish dont really help just say wait for alder hey, same with health visitors useless just me constantly chasing up things appointments referrals etc got mediation next month to try get this assessment done at nursery for an ehcp going forward to his new school, is the 3 year waiting list for everyone or just your area? My heart breaks for you the struggle is realπŸ’”

I was made a priority first last Thursday, I’ve been told 3 times I should have the decision by today and I will get a text regardless of the decision, called this morning it’s been looked at by case manager and is waiting for dm ( guessing to sign it off??? ) but said it may be a few days, I’m hoping to hear today instead of overthinking it all weekend 🀞

Congratulations on all who have been awarded. ive only just managed to catch up with the thread. my sons meltdowns have well and truly drained me this week, ive got scratches bruises and bite marks due to him attacking me during his meltdowns. Hes struggling soo much it really breaks my heart i just hope we get awarded dla soon as it would help soo much at both home and nursery. ive had to collect him early from nursery everyday these past 2weeks due to my son lashing out at the other children and staff during his meltdowns as hes struggling soo much. I know the nursery staff understand and there soo lovely but it just breaks my heart knowing how much my boy is struggling and not coping whilst at nursery.

I have also just seen on fb group that someone has been awarded dla and their scan date was 10th April. So hopefully all of us here who are still waiting will hear something soon. My sd is 02/04 fingers are crossed for not inly myself but for everyone else on this thread 🀞🏻🀞🏻🀞🏻

Thanks for the update! I was told middle of July for my SD of 19/3. So annoying they aren’t honest about it, I’ve been waiting on tenterhooks and it’s agonising.

I’m 20/3 so here’s to being on tenterhooks together! I’m on holiday with my 6 (3 on the ASD pathway) you’d think I’d be able to relax but nope. I don’t want to ring until 20 weeks as last year for one of my others it took 22 weeks … just had the dreaded EHCP assessment declined due to school (who are supportive) not sending enough evidence GREATπŸ™ˆ mediation declined, appeal submitted this morning. Let’s hope they gave the DM more information than the local authority because my little boy is 5 non verbal, in nappies and falls over at almost every step. So hard to get the support we need and as a teacher I feel like I’m destroying my career by pushing for what they need
