@Crazyhouse4
I've had the text! Just gonna call them now x

Yay! Good luck 🀞 let me know how you get on

MotherAndDSon · 26/06/2024 12:09

I'm still here waiting 22/3 new claim πŸ™„

This wait is making me depress , not knowing where we stand.

I said I will call today but haven't seen many March new claim around my date getting awarded so might call on Friday πŸ˜ͺ

Good luck everyone 🫢🏻

Fingers crossed you get the decision your child/ren deserve, it’s hard enough dealing with a special child but it’s heartbreaking having to list all the extra help they need for some stranger to decide who gets awarded what!
I rung Friday and was told my claim is being looked at but couldn’t say it was with a DM I’m sure the call handlers will tell us anything to get us off the phone

Fingers crossed you do too lovely πŸ₯°

I had to do two forms for my twins and I cried so much. I felt like a rubbish mum but I wouldn’t change them for the world they’re both amazing kiddies just have so many challenging needs it’s hard.

oh lovely I hope you’re okay πŸ₯°
it’s horrible waiting especially when it’s someone saying if your child is deserving of the award.

I didn’t want to call but I’ve been so anxious I’ve had to call just for some clarity.
it seems they’re still working on end of Feb and beginning on the first week of march now

fingers crossed you hear soon 🫢🏼

SD 6/3 Just called and it went to the DM yesterday she said I should hear any day now and she's added a note for me to receive a text if I am or not awarded. I feel so nervous! Wondering if I've added enough evidence or if there is more I could have done. AHH scary πŸ˜†

Mhow · 26/06/2024 12:21

I called again and she was quite rude she said it went to case manager on Friday so don’t call again until 2 weeks!
I explained a lot of people aren’t recieving texts when awarded and if I want to call daily I will 😊 (but deep down I CRINGED I’m like a harasser 😭)
so nerve wracking though, I’m doubting everything- that I didn’t go into enough detail!! already mentally preparing for a MR!
Good luck everyone xx

MotherAndDSon · 26/06/2024 12:22

Good luck everyone 🫢🏻

Just called scan date 13/03 was told it is in a pile and to wait up to 20 weeks. Does it mean it will be looked at soon if in a pile?

There not allowed to tell you not to call report it I did and I got a phone call back same day about it they can be so rude it’s unreal x

ArtfulJoker · 26/06/2024 12:31

I’m feeling the same, totally deflated! Hopefully not long now πŸ™πŸΌ but is it going to be the right award or another long journey oh I can’t cope πŸ€―πŸ˜‚

awakebutnotawake · 26/06/2024 12:32

I feel your pain. They make you feel awful for bothering them & wanting answers but we have waited patiently for so long & the goalposts keep moving. I need to get DLA & (hopefully) Carer's Allowance sorted before I move to UC & the rates of Income Support we are currently on are nowhere near what they need to be due to a change of circumstances. Just scraping by on a week to week basis & the worry that she won't get awarded & we'll have to wait longer and ask for an MR is becoming quite overwhelming πŸ™

It’s so deflating! But we must try remain postive- we have enough going on as it is. We are so close and it’s a matter of days (desperately trying to tell myself this as I’m struggling with the wait it’s SO frustrating!)
theres light at the end of the tunnel.
and I know!! That’s my main concern! The right award. Feels very nervous as there’s such a leap between MRC & HRC 🀞🏼🀞🏼

13/03 is my SD too and it went to DM Friday. Before it went they told me it was top of pile waiting to be designated to DM. Yours should be near the top.
But to give you some hope my other son SD 28.03 went to DM Monday and got decision within hours! I’ve been waiting for youngest for 6 days and nothing so hopefully when yours goes the decision will be fast

Did anyone not get a text when awarded (either though asked for one)
Mine is with DM and has been since Friday 😩

I didn't get a text. I called and was told on the phone x

Rayne20 · 26/06/2024 13:35

Scan date 5/3
Priority first last Thursday, DM on Monday and awarded today, LRC & LRM.
Started the process for MR for the care component because he definitely meets criteria for middle! No danger awareness so supervised at all times, eats/chews/chokes on non food items, deregistered from school because they can no longer cater for his needs, suicidal thoughts and low mood and acts so impulsive we are terrified to sleep, he function's on roughly 3 hours sleep per night, he has SPD too so even things like the temperature in the house/garden can send him spiralling let alone the noise, the feel of his socks etc, i could go on and on but i won't πŸ˜‚ another 15 week wait to get him what he is entitled too πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

OneGreenBird · 26/06/2024 13:43

Hi everyone. Been keeping up with these threads from afar since the start of my sons claim but finally decided to post because i'm looking for some clarity.
First time claim and SD is 28th march so although early my impatience got the better of me and I thought id try calling to see if I could get an update.
Spoke to relatively kind mind who informed me that the status of the claim is still open meaning its still being looked into etc πŸ™„ fully expected this response given its only been 13 weeks tomorrow but it completely threw me when he said that claims can take upto 20 weeks and so far my sons claim has only been open 9 weeks so to keep waiting and that it could take up to 11 more (painful) weeks.
But if I've calculated it correctly we're at week 13 tomorrow, not week 9 so that sets us back a whole month!
I didn't get the chance to ask him why and im kicking myself for not asking now but does anyone have any idea why this might be?
Pissed right off because the wait is already long enough 😫
I will be ringing back but just wondered if anyone on here has ever experienced this and can shed some light as to why?
Thank you ❀

Congratulations on your award but you are definitely right he fits the criteria for middle rate, I wonder if they sometime just whizz though claims and don’t actually read them properly, good luck with your MR hopefully he gets the rates he deserves 🀞

Our SD is 05/04

I make it 12weeks on friday....dont get how they work yours out to be 9 weeks? That would make our claim only 8weeks. Baffled x

Same scan date as me,
I’ve been told twice that my 20 weeks end in September when in fact it’s August, from what I can gather the call handlers haven’t got a clue what they are talking about
good luck with your claim fingers crossed you get what your child deserves and you get awarded soon

Rayne20 · 26/06/2024 13:59

@Crazyhouse4 Thank you! Hopefully not much longer for you. Yeah i thought that too, i think i defo provided enough evidence and information to see just how much care and time he gets, when writing it all down i actually thought wow! No wonder im always shattered πŸ˜‚
