I've just had a missed call while I was working, and when I've rung back it's gone straight to voicemail.

I'm sure its wishful thinking to imagine that DS's renewal is now with a DM who was calling for more info- the voicemail said O2, so not likely, is it?

HeathenPlayingHouse · 22/06/2024 14:01

@Matilde08 I can't believe no one has called you to discuss the award, it's a total shambles!

Get that complaint in for sure, they should be ashamed how they've treated you and your boy x

Hopefully! Were you expecting any other calls? Keep your phone on loud 🀞🏼
does anyone know for sure if DMs work on weekends?

Hi all, been watching this thread for a while now and finally caved and rang this afternoon ha found out my son has been awarded mrc my scan date was 28/2 just a quick question as I can't seem to find the posts about universal credit. When I go to change of circumstance and they ask what date this changed do I put the date the back pay goes to, my scan date or today's date? Thanks

I put the date that my son’s award got backdated to, which is the 12/01. I got the award text and then called to find out what rate and was expecting to have it backdated to my scan date 26/02 but they told me they were backdating it to the day I called for the forms. It’s worth calling and finding out πŸ™‚ x

Mine was requested 15/05 but no sign of any backpay

I told UC on 7/6 they sorted out the care element but not child element they have said I have to have an appointment face to face with the original letter of dla entitlement on 4th July only after that will they send to DM …. I have sent a lengthy message back contesting having to go to the other side of the borough for an appointment and asked what purpose would that serve when it is not normal or usual for having it added to my Uc claim … no one I have spoken to has had to go in for proving the dla letter. 2 people was asked to upload it via a link they was sent on journal but a few others have said no proof was asked for at all… They know I have my own health issues physically and mentally and I’d have to waste someone else’s time to come with me as well as having a very autistic emotional non verbal screaming toddler ( because that’s all he can do atm and he won’t like being some place like that that is loud busy and different).
It’s not even like it’s the high rate and it’s only a couple mths back date. Don’t understand why they are being so demanding and not empathetic to my own health which they know all about . My usual work couch Mark has stayed very hush it’s all been some awful women and she is very blunt and rude in her typing as well compared to others.

Hi just to let anyone know who is waiting for backpay of disability element on UC, was a awarded DLA on 29th May, told uc on the same day,
Was sent to a dm on the 4/6 and I recieved backpay today. πŸ™‚

Hi was you asked to prove the dla your child was awarded ? Ie was you made an appointment to take proof or asked to upload it ? I’m having a right situation with UC over the dla … proper dragging it out.

Matilde08 · 22/06/2024 11:32

Thank you all for your emotional support πŸ’ Obviously no one called me back yesterday to explain the decision and I'm kind of ready not only do the MR, but overall put down big complaint how they have treated me and my sons claim.. actually they still do. I want to make sure that in the future there's no one with similar case being treated in that way. They have to consider serious changes in their policies then if needed.

Honestly hun it is absolutely shocking at how long it has taken and at the decision they made not to mention the rudeness and disrespect you have encountered by some staff especially that women… if you are ready for it then do it… you have us here to support you as much as we can and to vent to xxx

Hi no I havnt been asked to provide evidence of the award, that is so bizarre, they added the new disability element before I got backpay? You should message and ask why you have to prove the award when alls they need to do is contact DLA to verify it πŸ€”

Accbabymom1994 · 22/06/2024 18:11

We should all complain

Wonder what takes them so long, they told me the dm for UC deals with all sorts of different claims like lcwra and so on, if its already been verified on dla it should be automatic I don't even understand why it even needs to go to a dm when it should be backdated like dla is, hope you hear soon

Ahh, maybe it's because you are unsure of what you was awarded as disability element is different rates for MRC and HRC, you should phine dla to ask the award and then tell UC

I had a look and you get given a disability element if child gets hrc or mrc but when you apply to universal credit you tell them your child is disabled and what dla and or mobility and that will add the disabled element to your new claim for uc and also a carers element

Just wanted to add that Low rate care also entitles you to the disabled child element incase anybody reads and thinks it’s not worth applying for as they only get low rate.

it’s the carers element that can only be added for middle/ high 😊

Brittany95 · 22/06/2024 19:31

wondering iff anyone can help or give advice …..i have a UC phonecall appointment on 01/07 for a β€œrestart programme warm handover”
i am still waiting on a decision for DLA new claim and my 15week mark will be on 16/07.
so my question is if I’m awarded DLA after having the warm handover phonecall will I have to carry on with the restart program as I am sure I read online that it is voluntary and you don’t have to do it if circumstances change such as receiving dla/being carer

If you're awarded middle rate care or higher rate care then you can be put down as their carer and then no longer have to do restart. We went through the same thing.

Any February dates still waiting?? I kept my patience up until about 15 weeks. I'm now on week 17/18 and losing my mind πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ I'm convinced I need to get ready for a MR and haven't even had my son's decision yet.

Scan date 20/02

Do an MR , fight for your sons right . I know it's draining but we deserve it and are entitled to it . At the end of the day , they should be spending on us than funding genocides and wars .

That is exactly how I feel instead of helping other countries in wars and other children's aid they need to concentrate on thier own people. Many are homeless many are struggling and the children are treat poorly not only special need children all children with health care schools, if our own country can't look after it's own people what hope do we have for a better future?! I'm all for helping other countries but they need to make sure thier own country is stable first.. 2024 and nothing is better it's getting worse.

Garfield456 · 23/06/2024 10:00
