Huge congratulations!! How long did it take you to get through and what’s your scan date please? X

28 minutes.
Sd 15/4 but was made priority on Monday due to losing my job to care for my son and also getting evicted very soon .
🀞🏻 you get your answers asap x

Well.. at this point I'm pretty sure there's something about that pension he has why they think he's eligible for Mobility component only. Two call handlers went through the claim and second one after long search couldn't see nothing..no indication why only mobility. The reason they can't see as different department was dealing with my boys claim what is Blackpool and they made a decision as well. He passed e mail to them to call me and clarify the reason. So.. let's wait again.

That’s really so strange! And the fact that there’s no explanation on the notes at all. Really hope you get to the bottom of it all soon x

So sorry to hear that. But huge congrats on your award πŸŽ‰ I’ve been cut off twice now 😩 Signal so bad in my area x

TwinklyFox · 21/06/2024 11:39

Slightly confused how different call handlers give different information. Rang yesterday for info on where to send extra evidence..they gave me the info and said it was with a decision maker
Rang today to just confirm with was with a decision maker before I sent off info they told me today it was with new claims department and not with a decision maker and look at end of August before decision

I'm only on week 10 so I knew I had a long wait but them saying yesterday it was with decision maker got my hopes up maybe it was going to be sooner than that..

Aussielover · 21/06/2024 11:39

@zoeybrooks45 what was your coc for x

Thank you πŸ’œ
I hope you get your call back and explanation so you can start your MR as soon as possible . I have everything crossed you get what you and you family deserve x x

Thank you 🫢🏻 Even if indicate the pension is the reason he's not eligible I will ask what's the next right step to sort this out so he's getting what he's eligible for accordingly on he's special needs not family circumstances. Because it's unfair that they have made decision not accordingly his special needs. Anyways first I just need to know.

And you enjoy 'your day' πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’

Also for anyone sending back late forms the lovely happy man I’ve just spoken to said they only take into consideration for the late return if there has been a death in the family or the child on the claim has been hospitalised. X

Matilde08 · 21/06/2024 11:45

I'm trying not to take it too personal, but I don't really like how we have been treated with our claim. All those 30 weeks there have not been nothing about he's special needs if they need some more information, some more evidence. They have been more focus to investigate the pension he gets because of he's fathers death. I do understand it's just law and policies, but we have been treated like a criminals or something. It makes me a bit angry as meanwhile there's so much fraud, many who just simply use the system. I was trying to be as honest as possible and this is what's happening. Any financial support is important especially when been left with guardian in such a young age, but reason to claim DLA for my son was to officially give him all the support he needs and deserv.. so he grows up into happy adult.

And now I still need to chase them and wait for simple clarification why he's not eligible for care component.

The gentleman on call explained it's probably because different department made that decision.. what is Blackpool.

This is while I will no longer call until I know they definitely have a decision seems as though they literally just make stuff up

Just a quick question for anyone with a child that has ASD / ADHD, what therapies have you introduced your child to?

My son is extremely dysregulated a lot of the time, he can be very angry and that can be physical (he's 7)
He also has epilepsy which causes a a lot of headaches and I imagine contributes to his outbursts

we've tried lots of activities in the past, beavers, football, gymnastics he hasn't coped with any of them

we are just about to start "relax kids" if i can get him through the door and he also does swimming as long as i get in the pool with him

is there anything else anyone can suggest for a very sensitive child?

Do I have to inform tax credits of my son’s DLA award? Also needing to migrate to UC in the coming weeks . Is the disability element for people without DLA or for them? I’ve just tried doing a benefit calculator and it has fried my brain!
what classes as disabled and severely disabled? X

HeathenPlayingHouse · 21/06/2024 12:28

2.5 weeks to go until the 11 week target, but I called anyway today because DS's award is due to end in 2 weeks and 6 days πŸ˜‚

I didn't get the name of the guy I spoke to, quite frankly he didn't shut up long enough for me to ask for it. What I did manage ti get out of him is that it hasn't even been allocated to a DM yet, and that I should call back on 04/07 if I haven't had an update.

Feels very down to the wire, I asked what happens if a decision hadn't been made by 11/0Β£ when his award runs out. He just said "well, I've never seen that happen yet!".

I would inform tax credit before changing to universal credit.. and disabled child is for people with dla I think.. but not it's only what I've read on here.. I could be wrong as I don't get it

Sorry, that should have been 11/07 that his award runs out
